I thought before Crouch's first game we were heading for the play offs. I thought before Crouch's last game we were heading for relegation PS I think you have proved that Crouch had nothing much to do with the number of tickets sold
-
I think most indepedent Observers in the City think that Lowe was not totally responsible for driving SLH into administration. Lowe is probably ****ed off that his efforts came to nothing with the bank not supporting him.
-
Surely in the season when Crouch was Chairman the attendances were swelled by season ticket holders who bought tickets assumming SFC were going to be successful after reaching the play ofs. The number of season tickets sold this season probably reduced because of a number of factors including the Lowe one.
-
You make a fair point however if they were quality players surely they should have performed better and it is therr performances maybe that have contributed to our decline. Footballers with talent should be able surely to win us a few games
-
In some ways it might have been better to have been relegated last season because as you say The Lowe Affect plus the Bank pulling the plug and not being able to sell anybody was leading us to Administration and Relegation
-
I agree it used to be the manager but is it today when they have little chance in building a team for the future before being sacked. Successful managers need successful goalscorers and Fryatt is successful at Leicester Burley I suppose had a go but his choice of player proved poor same as his choice at Ipswich

I would have thought anybody with some sense would at least listen to what he says before making such a comment. There are valid reasons why we went into administration not all because of Lowe
-
Yes I agree What happens though if large numbers of fans boycott St mary's if they don't like the new owners?
-
What pleasant fans we really have you are a disgrace
-
Pearson would still have had the same players some of which lack skill whilst others lake awareness of what is going on on the football field and do react in the correct manner.
-
I would have most sensible people will have accepted that Lowe is not totally responsible for the mess we find ourselves in today.

I was quite happy in the seasons prior to relegation as we were not continually at the bottom of the league like we were at the Dell. The club appeared to be financially well managed and we did did sometimes beat the bigger clubs and we invested in the Academy. Investing in the Academy seemed to be a good idea to me as we were not producing enough quality home grown players like we had done in the past so we were buying more squad players who were not really up to it which eventually led to our downfall. Of course to change the strategy and buy more expensive players was possible but without large investment unlikely as the whole wage structure at the club would have to be changed and success could not be guaranteed. What I think the articles are saying is that we were doing OK and because of the size and history of the club should have accepted that some did and some did not but the did nots seem to have been more vocal . Of course Lowe was never popular but the relegation turned this unpopularity to hate and he was driven out. Wilde was as it turned out promising investment falsely but this was what many fans wanted . However success in football is not guaranteed with investment which Lowe and his Premiership board had already thought and we are now in limbo waiting for somebody to buy the club. Whether we will be happy then who knows

We just need someone I would have thought

Yes you are right once went there to watch a League Cup match years ago and we were lucky to lose 7 1 I think was the score the worse defeat I have ever seen. Never been back
-
I would have thought the priority would be some decent players.

I have been supporting the Saints for nearly 50 years and like you my expectation was as you post. But I am talking the fans who were demanding that we move to the next level in 2003 which was plainly unrealistic. I feel this outlook has cost us dearly because we have become a divided club
-
Dont think every club but at some I agree. I feel that other clubs supporters like Crystal Palace Ipswich Norwich hope for success whilst our supporters expect success without realising a club needs good finanance and good players. I was watching England last week and Pompey had three England players and have a reasonably good side when we got relegated we did did not have very good players as we had no money to spend
-
But what he is saying makes complete sense together with the other articles. from other newspapers Most Saints fans appear to be unrealistic and demand success.
-
