Lots of young players take time to adjust to the PL but I live near where he comes from in Slough and so many people from the local area say he is the real deal as well as a few Chelsea fans Some have said he is the best young player they have ever seen so lets see what happens

Maybe it is a better combination but it is no where near other non struggling Saints teams in the PL

Having watched the Saints since the early 1960s I can honestly say I am underwhelmed with the idea of the above struggling in the PL in the coming months but can only hope the New RB is going to be like Ivan Golac the new 8 is like Stevie Williams the new 9 is like Martin Chivers and the new winger is as good as Terry Paine then we may have a chance

Why do you and other posters think Downes is going to me very good in the PL if West Ham do not. I know he was very integral to the promotion but so were Che and AA and they are not really top class PL players

We finished 4th in the Championship and as you may have lost a handful although some may return so we need to rep[ace those not returning and get replacements for half a dozen or so players who are not up to PL standard so ten new players I would have thought at least and a couple of Loanees plus Lallana As many of our targets will not come here we need load of irons in the fire

Very well put fans sometimes forget that for most PL footballers playing football is their job and a cruel injury can come at anytime so they try to maximise their earnings when they can

It may not have been inevitable but it was pretty obvious to me that we were going to be relegated with an inexperience team a crap goalkeeper no stand out striker and no experienced PL CB. The squad was perhaps one of the worst top flight squads we have ever had
