  1. We are still losing so what is your point
  2. I have been following the match on England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) - The Official Website of the ECB Over in three days at was made for seam bowlers and we won pretty easily although Albert and Fuller threw their wickets away in the second innings Despite the Fuller and Abbott getting the plaudits it was Middleton and Albert who helped us to victory eventually as scoring was not easy with the pitch having variable bounce with Brown and Dawson dismised with real wicket taking deliveries It was a great cricket wicket and we won pretty easily dropping catches especially in the slips did not help apparently Dawson does not want to field in the slips at the moment Back to the bowl at the weekend with probably the same team we know the team needs a couple of standout players but it is doing OK I feel
  3. You and so many others are fucking deluded and not particularly bright to succeed in the PL we need decent players how many do we have three or four and results have not improved since Martin left
  4. Yes you are right he got us promoted only to find the club was not able to get in a few decent players
  5. He bowled 5 overs for 20 in the second innings and is having problems adjusting to the Duke Ball
  6. But only two Hampshire born Very luckly to have seen 1959: RE Marshall & D Shackleton; 1969: BA Richards; 1974: PJ Sainsbury; 1975: AME Roberts; 1977: CG Greenidge; 1983: TE Jesty & MD Marshall; 1984: CL Smith; 1990: RA Smith; 2006: KP Pietersen; 2025: LA Dawson. With Barry Anderson and Malcolm Marshall the best Greenidge Richards R E Marshall RA Smith Pietersen Jesty Aymes Sainsbury M D Marshall Roberts Shackleton would be hell of a team
  7. England cricket trio Gus Atkinson, Jamie Smith and Sophie Ecclestone have been named among Wisden’s Cricketers of the Year, the prestigious annual prize awarded to top performers in the English summer. County stars Liam Dawson and Dan Worrall complete the five-strong list, an honour bestowed in the almanack since 1889 and which cricketers can only win once in their career.
  8. Clearly MLG you are wrong the point the poster is making is that the club has been buying young players players with a view to selling tham at a profit not to enhance the team like in the 1960s 1970s and 1980s when the team bought experienced players like David Webb Campbell Forsyth Ron Davies John McGrath Jimmy Gabriel Jimmy Melia etc etc
  9. Around 20 minutes plus stoppages left. Southampton just don't look like scoring I do not really care is that wrong Hampshire doing OK as usual
  10. I have a young brother who is sixteen years younger than me and my dad and I both right handers made him into a successful lefthander because of the amount of balls you get on their leg stump. He still plays today for Berkshire over Sixties
  11. I suggest you become a politician as you are spouting nonsense we have a really poor squad of players probably the worst I have seen whilst we have been in the top flight in the last 60 years
  12. Clearly SR have not been good but they did buy a team with below average PL players after a number of years of a lack of investment
  13. Any team with top class players would do well whatever manager we had
  14. I am quite happy to have Abbott in at No 11 Hampshire now 299 for 5 with ten overs left
  15. I agree unlike the Saints we have some decent young players and old hands Abbott Dawson Stoneman Brown and Gubbens and I would be surprised if we will get relegated for sometime Our recruitment policy has been good for sometime together with letting young players develop probably Albert Middleton and Prest will have good seasons
  16. Yes I agree especially as our two best batters from last season Vince and Gubbins did not score many What is the situation with Fuller and Barker
  17. I agree with Anneliese Dodds in her stand against reduction of overseas Aid and Diane Abbott who said “There is nothing moral about cutting benefits for what may be up to a million people. This is not about morality. This is about the Treasury's wish to balance the country's books on the back of the most vulnerable and poor people in this society.”’’ Taking £4bn from the poor sick and disabled when us Baby Boomers who have had so much over the last 50 years are not touched is pretty immoral Starmer and Reeves are currently a disgrace to the Labour party and I feel it is now pretty damaged with the electorate I did not realise that change meant adopting failed Tory Policies and not supporting the Palestinians
  18. Bloody Hell Wade you have become a bit touchy feeling I thought players just played for their wallets
  19. I think you are missing the po[nt that when SR took over we had a pretty poor squad with few stand out PL players
  20. John B

    Ivan Juric

Do you realy think any decent manager would want to come here
  21. You must be a pretty awful football follower if you did not realise the squad was pants last August We have never had a squad in the top flight with no stand out players but perhaps I am wrong
  22. 9 3 Wolves in 1965 was a fantastic performance
  23. It was actually 7 1 I think I heard the result on on the bus returning from Twickenham where England lost to South Africa I wouldbe a surprise if we won 7 1 today more likely a loss like the defeat I watched over 20 years ago after an early Beattie goal think we would have drawn except for a brilliant save from Richard Wright when Rossler should have scored
  24. We are bottom because we are dreadful end of story
