I have been supporting them through thick and thin for over sixty years it is great when we win and sobering when we don't The PL has been awful for the Saints so I have mixed feelings about a return there next season where probably the thin will start again
-
Well he has his confidence back playing in a successful team good luck to him and all the other players
-
So what he only a red ball reserve Albert and Middleton are above him but were not picked in the first two matches and now Albert is injured
-
I Know all this what is your point mine is after watching and following First Class cricket for over 70 years our openers are of the Standard of John Rice and not Barry RIchards . Ali Orr is a slogger
-
I do not disagree with you but neither is Middleton Albert or Orr much better but Weatherly batted well in a couple of games last season before he broke his arm It is a problem the club must be aware of but as they have not recruited anybody we will have to accept the situation and live with it. Perhaps the club has no real interest in red ball cricket

As long as WindowCleaner keeps off the forum he really depressed me on Friday with his comments

Go for a draw and a win on Saturday

Southampton FC FA Cup Winners 1976 Large Vintage Commemorative Mirror
John B replied to DJ_TOAST's topic in Buy / Sell
As a matter of interest how many of you posters were with me at the Final in 1976 I was also at the Semi Final when we were beaten by Man U 1 0 with a Dennis Law goal in a very disappointing performance in 1963 lL> km -
Surely it would be better if we beat Arsenal Man City and Chelsea to win the FA Cup
-
I apologise for my original comment what a great result with all players contributing to a great night even my eldest daughter ad wife were excited
-
Why were you not convinced as he has an impressive CV
-
I do not think he will be leaving in the next three days and I think Sports Republic are less shite now with Larin and Peretz doing well which is a good thing
-
I should imagine that they will want to win after their failure at Wembley
-
Even with a depleted team Arsenal would beat us easily When was the last time we beat a Top Team in the FA Cup
-
We have scored more goals than every other team expect Coventry and Ipswich who will probably finish first and second We stopped Norwich from scoring we had two of our better players missing We have been undefeated for ages putting in top performances I am not sure things can get much better
-
Putting pressure on the team unsurprising with lots of negative posts on here before kick off
-
But Norwich never scored did they
-
Obviously we will not win all our remaining games but we are on a good run at the moment beating the Top Club at the weekend so why be pessimistic just support the players and we will probably get to the play offs
-
Obviously it was mostly to do with Martin but the recruitment for the PL last season dire was pretty dire with players like BBD and Archer not even getting a chance in the Championship Apart from Downes the recent recruitment has been pretty good and we have offloaded much deadwood I would be happy with another season in the Championship myself because to be competive we need better players in the PL in lots of positions
-
I doubt it but I did enjoy the Season with Pardew in League one saw teams like Hartlepool and Dagenham and Redbridge
-
We are not going to win all our remaining matches so let us hope we do tonight

I disagree it was Terry Paines goal at Leyton Orient 1n 1966 to make the score 1 -1 and virtually ensure that we would be in the First Division the following year Although Bobby Stokes did score an important goal ten years later getting to the First Division I think was more important overall for the club than winning the FA Cup
