  1. Goes right to the crux of the matter and fully represents the deep disappointment felt by all Saints supporters, many of whom will either give up going to St Marys or forgo following the Saints away from home. Those of us who blindly continue watching the team will carry the scars of the event for years to come and the Commercial team at St Marys will have a hell of a job promoting the club to sponsors. Likewise trying to convince new players to come here will be a challenge probably only overcome by offering larger payments within a restricted operating budget. I still firmly believe that the punishment did not fit the crime but we have to live with life's realities.
  2. I am staying in a darkened room for the forseeable future having dreamed that Saints have been denied the opportunity to contest the Championship Play Off after one of their Green Party associates had been spotted exploring the Flora & Fauna on Teeside.
  3. No way will Perez be here next season. He will have a queue of clubs both here and in Germany willing to pay decent money both in transfer and wages to sign him up. I put him in the same category as Shilton and Niemi in all the time I have watched Saints. He will be sorely missed.
  4. Being a Saints fan for many, many years, I have experienced quite a few ups and downs. The downs have generally dominated but only served to make the occasional ups even more enjoyable. Playing so well at the end of the season, beating Fulham and Arsenal and going toe to toe with Man City in front of a magnificent band of supporters, looking forward to another shot at the Premier League at Wembley on Saturday and gaining the respect of a lot of neutrals, made me extra proud to be a Saints fan. I also thought that with a few new players, we could replicate Sunderland and Leeds performances in the Prem. Having reached that level of pride and expectation, it came as a massive shock to tumble back down to a feeling of despair, allied to a sense of aggrievement that the punishment did in no way fit the 'crime'. As someone on this forum has said, it is like parking your car on a double yellow line, paying the fine, and then losing your driving licence for a year or two. Like many on here I went through the turmoil of the Branfoot and Rupert Lowe eras and the club eventually moved forward. These things take time and I am at an age when I dont expect the good times to return in my lifetime. I sincerely hope the younger supporters do have the opportunity to once again experience the joy of feeling on top of the world supporting the Saints. I will renew my season ticket next year but expect to see quite a few empty seats as a consequence of this affair.
  5. But Leicester had the glow of a Premier League title as has Blackburn who's fans have been up in arms about their Chicken Farm owner for some time. Throw Sheff Weds in the mix too.
  6. If we had lost to Boro there is a chance that the 'Spying' may have been lost in the passage of time. Similarly if the dice rolled in our favour and we had made the second automatic spot there would have been no need to 'spy' on Boro unless Ipswich made a fuss. All 'IFS' and 'Maybe's' though.
  7. Ridiculous reaction!!
  8. Cant see how Solak caused the problem unless he was actively involved. Careful what you ask for as there are worse owners than Solak about.
  9. Ramsdale wont return as he will be on twice the wage at a Prem club and we will need the money from his transfer fee.
  10. Hopefully Hull win convincingly on Saturday It will really be interesting our two games against Boro next season
  11. I wonder if there is anything in our Sponsors deal which means that bringing their names into disrepute means contracts are cancelled and repayments have to be made? Meantime absolute silence on the Saints website.
  12. Without knowing contractual details and how this shit show affects them, I can see players geeded up by their agents looking at some sort of recompense as they have been denied the opportunity to double their wages if the team had made it through to the Prem on Saturday. It will certainly be the case that those worthy of moving to Premiership clubs will be more than happy to entertain offers from other clubs and the Saints Board will be in no position to stand firm on valuations. This is a shit show that will have repercussions for many years to come. A lot of people have sniggered on the position that Leicester (and to a much lesser degree Sheffield Weds) have found themselves in. We may be able to avoid their plight but I can easily see us in a battle against the drop next season with the hope of mid table obscurity. Just to think our collective joy last Tuesday with optimism at the highest level for some time and look at us now........ gloom, doom and plenty of empty seats next season.

  14. Jeez, if that is really a reality with players contracts then we are in deep doo doo.
  15. Suspended sentence? Warning?
  16. Thinking back to when Blackburn were beating 10 man Ipswich 1-0 with only 10 mins to go and the Referee abandoned the game due to a wet pitch. The EFL refused to allow the game to be replayed or to play the remaining 10 minutes at a later date. It the EFL had sanctioned the latter option Millwall would have been promoted. Perhaps Millwall ought to have a go at the EFL
  17. I understand Phil Parsons was royally fucked off at a recent Golf Event. Was this because he knew that: i) the the club's indiscretions had been found out with his knowledge or ii) that he had just found out? At the moment we dont know, so let's wait until more information becomes available
  18. You have to give Bournemouth & Boscombe Albion some credit. Always considered to be our small town friendly cousins down the road and as a consequence a source of quite a few Saints supporters form the Bournemouth/Poole conurbation and now the top team in the region. Fair play to them. Reckon it will be a fair few years before the status quo returns to normal.
  19. I bet Dragan Solak is feeling less than charitable about those dealing with his investment at the moment.
  20. Baz (Long) Bree Stephens Wood Manning (Roerslev) (Loan ???) (Quarshie) (Welington) Matsuki Bragg Aziz Ediozie (Fellows) (Williams) (Loan ???) (Robinson) Archer Stewart/Larin?? (Downes??) (Oyekunle) Manager Who Knows?? Above squad would struggle to compete in the Championship with a 4 point deduction unless Spors can come up with reasonable replacements plus some decent loans. Transfers Out Perez🥲 Downes £10m? Harwood Bellis £20m? Scienza £20m? Jander £20m? Charles £15m? Romeu Free Jelert ??? Fernandez £2m? part of deal with West Ham to take 10% of profit from player sale based on £60m transfer value Loans Out Ramsdale £15m?? Brerton Diaz £5m , or returned to us? Possibility of anything up to £100m revenue, less money owed to clubs to whom we owe money. Attendances Attendances very likely to be adversely affected by current disenchantment unless replacements seem to be suitable. Season ticket sales down to around 18,000 so average attendance at around 24,000 for an average season. I am thoroughly pissed off about news today but I will be back to renew my season ticket next season but have sympathy with those who choose not to renew.
  21. Up until recently, we were the only club, as far as I am aware, who used the tune as their main song to support the team. Spurs then latched onto it and slowed down the delivery, which we followed, to replace their 'Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur ditty. It now seems that many teams have now latched onto the song, as Boro did on Tuesday, with quite a few Spurs fans thinking it is 'Their' song!! Perhaps we should complain to the EFL about copyright infringement to negate the 'Spygate' nonsense??
  22. Not sure if this has been covered already within existing posts but wonder what the views are from those at the Northam end regarding the two decisions in the penalty area regarding fouls against Scienza, Larin. From where I was sat it looked that the challenge on Scienza would have been given as a pen on another day. It is easy to complain about the Ref, which I did during the game, but having reff'd games at amateur level in the past, I know how difficult it is to keep a hold on things, particularly when two teams are going at it hell for leather.
  23. I wonder if anyone in this picture can explain in detail what Restore policies are apart from improving the standard of catering and broadcasting in the country?
