I don't. I'm not at all impressed with what I've seen of them so far. I would put them on a par with Jacko. I suspect they have more than a passing interest in the property assets that the company has. Personally I hope that we see an investor who clearly has direct access to the funds we need to grow the club, not a mystery consortium with no clear indication of funds. Anyone other than Pinnacle would be a start in my book.

Do you still stand by the above GM and is it OK to use it on relevant occasions in the future GM, without fear of indictment or visits from the OB?
-
I think I'll wait to see who called the police after a post on here by Fitzhugh Fella before buying a Season Ticket. I'm not sure how much money up front I want to give to people who harass Saints fans.
-
Harassing the club's historian and a valued poster on this site. IMHO this is not the best way for anyone trying to buy the club to endear themselves to the fanbase if this is what has happened. As much as we all love and support Saints, most of us are likely to also want to feel that new owners have some empathy with the supporters I should have thought.

I'm sure we could use the hospitality suites at the club. I'm hoping Begbies Traynor will allow Mark Fry to be there (I'm sure the creditors will pay his fees for a few more hours). Not many Administrators would have shown faith in, on the face of it, a financier working as a letting agent with no track record. He (Fry) deserves a round of 'For He's A Jolly Good Fellow' as he's carried around the stadium on the crowd's shoulders.

Just wondering if Pinnacle are planning a public celebration at SMS on Tuesday now that everything is agreed and all they have to do is sign and transfer the funds on Monday? Perhaps Tony can advise us? I'd love to be there.
-
You know you really should post more GM (if your busy schedule allows). In these dark days, your little essays are like a ray of sunshine.
-
Like taking a plumbing course for two in Harrogate with exit2? Sorry just a bad joke.
-
Are you certain the money paid exclusivity came from Pinnacle themselves and not from Leon Crouch or perhaps MLT? It looks to me as if Tony L may have been badly let down by proposed investors and has found Mr Fialka and family as a last resort but have they actually spent anything significant to date? I wonder. BTW I don't doubt your good intentions in this, I just hope it doesn't cause you any problems if it does go t!ts up.
-
If we're talking about Matty's good times that would be The Dell of course. You don't really still think Micky is going to come up with the dosh do you Farmer?
-
Unfortunately if the wages can't be paid in the forseeable future and no-one has come forward with money for either exclusivity or a deal he'll have little choice. I think if he continues to allow the company to trade while insolvent he could personally have to pick up the bill. I'm sure one of our legal friends on here will tell me if I'm wrong.
-
That's no problem as long as the eggs have shells.
-
You're getting very protective of Pinnacle all of a sudden Tris. Are you hoping to join The Farmer on an all expenses paid pre-season tour?
-
I agree - if Pinnacle were just discussing minor points with the FL why would Fry be actively chasing new possible buyers? I still think an appeal of an FL decision to be heard by the FL would have a foregone conclusion and I really can't believe that this is the real source of the delay. A mystery investor with cold feet could be another matter though. After all Pinnacle have already lost a number of potential investors on the way by their own admission.
-
I understand your point Pancake but even if an appeal was allowed I don't believe the FL would rescind their decision any more than turkeys vote for Christmas. That being the case, why don't Pinnacle simply do the deal, appoint the new manager, get the side sorted out and start preparations for the most important season ever for Saints? Or has the mystery man forgotten his PIN number?
-
In other words if another party is willing to pay for exclusivity and effectively keep the club alive for another month Fry will accept it with open arms.
-
What is to stop another consortium paying for exclusivity?
SP Saint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I don't think honour and goodwill come into it. Pinnacle have run out of time as of Friday last week. If someone offers £500K for exclusivity Fry would more or less have to take it, especially as we're once again about three days from going out of business as the wages will need paying. -
I agree that it is high time that the Organ Grinder exposes himself and hands over the cash if he can remember where he put it. If this isn't sorted very quickly I imagine Fry will be selling another exclusivity deal to the Swiss so that he can pay this months wages.
-
"It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury; Signifying nothing." Why don't you just troll along and work out who wrote that?
-
Do you think it's good that Mr Fry will give all the money to Barclays and Aviva while we lose a player who could help us get promotion next season? Just curious.
-
If he is sold now, I presume the million goes to the creditors and won't help us rebuild for next season one little bit. The Pinnacle deal is not finalised yet, although I suppose they could demand a reduction in the sale price for SLH if MCG leaves now.
-
I don't think I'll bother coming back to this thread. Time to lock it Pancake.
-
They sound like the right guys to me. They could provide a firm foundation on which to rebuild the club. We don't need mega money to get out of this league, just a proven manager with good contacts who is able to build a team with loan players as necessary. You only have to look to see what Gillingham have done on a shoestring budget with Mark Stimson & I bet they do well next season too.
-
I don't want to speak for Morph but he has said before that Salz is waiting in the wings or words to that effect, only the Crouch involvement was new.
-
That's more or less my understanding too Weston. I think there could be more to the Salz bid though. Morph has now said on here that Crouch is involved in his group. I suspect that they expect the others to drop out and the asking price to fall, at which stage they will step in.
