  1. What if you had to make a choice between black pudding and white pudding?
  2. I don't believe it does either - hence I would have done what I suggested!
  3. I suppose there is an argument to say WWII helped - more military equipment needed to be built = more jobs. However, it would be wrong to dismiss the impact of the New Deal. I would agree that major infrastructure projects are the key, but it is still important to get people to spend what they can afford, rather than just save all their money. There are a number of things that make the economy tick, and consumer spending is one of them. After all, it's no good creating jobs with infrastruture projects only to see many more lost as high street shops close.
  4. The idea of the VAT cut isn't to make things cheaper, but to encourage people to go out and spend money. Therefore, while the proposal you have suggest might make people better off, I think it is more likely they would save that money, not spend it.
  5. HP sauce is the perfect sauce for bacon, as long as you don't add too much. K*tch*p should be banned - it adds nothing to any meal. I have recently begun regularly having bacon and fried egg sarnies. I say sarnies, but really I tend to use rolls, not slices of bread.
  6. I've read the whole thread, but I still actually want to go back to a point made in the original post. The best way for the government to try and get us out of the recession IS to spend more money, which does lead to further debt. The debate surely should be how they do this. The £12.5billion VAT cut I believe does nothing. That money would be been better spent bringing forward major building projects (thus creating jobs), insulating homes, schools and hospitals (long term gain of saving on energy costs) and buying more train carriages (something the government now looks like it is doing) as well as opening local train stations and electrifying some of the network (providing more sustainable transport for the future). All, or indeed, some of the above would have created jobs now and had a positive effect on the country in years to come.
  7. Ha. Fan in front of me on Sat belted out "sing your hearts out for the lads" and abused others while doing it, then promptly didn't join in for any other songs. This made me lol.
  8. I don't believe it is unfair. I have been to all but one home game and the support on the whole has been appalling.
  9. Our support at home has been a pile of crap all season.
  10. How would you know, you've don't go to games. You just make stuff up and get angry about it.
  11. The Leeds support we singing loudly at 3-0 down. Any other lies you want to peddle?
  12. M3h. I wouldn't worry, if he had appointed him and then found in his 2nd full season that we were down fighting relegation then our wonderful fans would have been calling for his head and forced him out the club anyway.
  13. This may be a controversial view, but I've always felt that supporters show their true colours when the team isn't doing so well. I've seen plenty of other teams where their club has been in turmoil, but their support has been as loud as ever. I bet Leeds' away support is still loud - despite all the crap at their club over the years.
  14. Was going to say I thought the two Bath wingers had good games that day, but I couldn't specifically remember the Dorch left back. That game also had a rather awesome penalty award!
  15. Strauss led from the front yesterday, an excellent innings and I'm sure it meant a lot to him. Now we must push on and get to 550, and that means Pietersen can't afford to get himself out.
  16. Am impressed with my shirt. £10 is a bargain!
  17. Support was terrible. Although our support has been on a downward slide for sometime. To be fair, I clapped the team off, I couldn't fault them for effort on Saturday. I guess the 'stadning ovation' was because everyone was stood up anyway!
  18. Hardly anyone bothered to support the team Saturday anyway.
  19. Wouldn't have kept either of them, but would have had Jermaine Wright re-signed and not bothered with Wotton.
  20. Were you at the game on New Years Day vs Bath?
  21. I am a real Saints fan who goes to games. Why should I suffer downtime because people who cba to go to games get downtime?
  22. Who knows, but I am feeling more at home with political debate. Interesting to see Stanley likes the BNP. Goes to prove he has no common sense.
  23. Well, Mervyn was awesome last night, but I really don't know what is up with Wade, he seems to have gone to pot. You could tell by his warm up he didn't have any confidence and just wanted to get off the stage. Is he strong enough mentally to come back? Taylor started slow, but in awesome form after the break. And John Part looks slowly to be getting back to his best. Another thought crossed my mind: THREE events in Scotland this year, and they still went for Klaasen over Thornton. I don't quite get it!
  24. Wouldn't mind a spot of Tesco bashing, actually.
  25. Nah, we save them all round our way.
