  1. Couldn't find any cheap train tickets for this anyway, so was preparing to spend about £40 getting there. Hopefully find some cheap ones for the evening it is now played.
  2. Didn't see tonight as was out at a comedy gig. Next week is my "opening night" involving curry and much lager.
  3. Buy tickets on-line and collect from machine. Sorted. No need to speak to mong behind counter either. This advice comes from someone who has been to the cinema twice in the last 6 years.
  4. I would like to echo the anti-ITV sentiments.
  5. Couldn't care less.
  6. Hmmm - actually I think you'll find Saeijis took a free kick 25-30 yds from goal (which KD should have taken) then had to turn on himself and thus lost that initial half yard.
  7. I would like to add my name to the list of people who have missed 1 home game, with that game happening to be Norwich.
  8. I love the fact someone called "tulip" is opposed to the 'Dutch revolution'! Anyway, selling the right to buy a season ticket only works where there is an excessive demand. A few NFL clubs do it as well. A lifetime ST could raise cash there and then I suppose, but how many would they have to sell at £5k for it to make a difference etc?
  9. Unless they do something really stupid (like hike up the price!), then I will renew no matter what. However, like you I am hopefully of about £300 for those renewing in March. Lifetime ticket: would like to but couldn't afford that much in one sum.
  10. You don't have to write a resignation letter when you leave school.
  11. The crashes do not bother me as I am a sooper dooper fan who is at the game. w00t for me. (winky, smiley thing)
  12. Do you believe that all the Six Nations teams have made a mistake by announcing their teams 5 days before the games? Or do you not think that sometimes there is an argument for picking a team a couple of days before a game, especially if you are planning to play a specific way, so that the players can work on it? I would be interested in your thoughts on both of these matters.

A lot less than I'm paying! Your round on Saturday!

Is there a "24-for-2" discount ticket available?!
  15. I never get this comparison. The basic wage is to turn up and play football. Which is what they do. Your basic wage is for doing the basics of your job. Many of them will have performances related bonuses which they will clearly not be getting many of. You may have this in your job. You may not. Anyway, it is silly comparing football to 'regular' work. Also, you chose an odd title for this thread considering most of it has nothing to do with how we play football.

    Aye. With 3 others.
  17. Racialist.
  18. All heil the Delldays-Hatch revolution.
  19. Ignoring what happened in the last 5 minutes, I thought we were pretty darned average last night. We have gone from a team that used to be able to pass the ball to one that launches long balls down field. We don't seem to have any creative spark. Sure, we might have Wotton who runs around and breaks up some play, but he can't do anything with the ball. This team wasn't that far off being a good football side that scored a few goals. Sadly we now look like your average run-of-the-mill Championship side, with little ability. Sheff Utd weren't any better than us last night, they didn't deserve to win, but neither did we.
  20. pwn3d.
  21. Let us also not forget that all other FA Cup round dates have league fixtures on, so not only would SU need to get knocked out, but the team we were playing on 6th round or semi-final day would still have to be in the FA Cup. These teams are Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday. So, er, yeh.

With Skacel still on the wage books, I doubt we have any space left for bringing someone in.
  23. Don't think I've really come across that poster before. I shall keep an eye out.
  24. Because, as you seem not to have grasped, the club was millions of pounds in debt and running at a massive loss. Therefore, we can't just continue to spunk money away. If in the first half of this season we have been able to reduce running costs enough to afford another higher earner, then that is good news. Simply saying "WE SHOULD SPEND MONEY YOU IDIOTS" at the board, is very silly and leads me to believe you have issues.
  25. Silly post of the millenium.
