Was there yesterday lunchtime. Excellent game between Anderson and Priestley following by Andy "The Pie Man" Smith beating Mervyn "The King" King 4-3 in massive upset. Annoyingly, I had money on 4-2.

If anyone gets a reply from their MP, it would be great to post it (or at least a summary of it) in this thread.

I've written a template letter to send to MPs and have e-mailed to Steve, so I imagine he will make available on the website today. The letter calls on MPs to support this Bill getting a second reading in the HoC, as not all Private Members' Bills get a second reading. If enough MPs feel this is an important issue then there is more chance. If you have a government MP (not just a Tory or Lib Dem, but one with a ministerial role - e.g. Chris Huhne) you can also ask that the government support this bill.

I think the poll misses the point as well. A return to having standing areas would be a benefit to those who want to sit down, as there'd be no risk of standing in seated areas. For all those who say "this will never happen", you are doing your own cause a disservice. This is a good bill, and pressure on MPs in whatever part of the country will be important. Of course, if it becomes law there are still other issues (cost), but none of those will be dealt with until it is legally possible. For those wanting help/advice lobbying their MPs, I am hoping to produce a bit of a template later on today. The Independent newspaper will be running this story tomorrow.

Atmosphere at Candlestick on Monday night was mental. Loads of Saints fans in attendance, which was quite impressive. Winning with a last second field goal was even more fun.
