Chance of a signing before the loan window closes?
Window Cleaner replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
A guess of course;) Thomas will leave this January, he really doesn't fit into the plans and AP has already said we can't really afford him, plus I think he is out of contract next summer and will probably not want to take a major wage cut. Lallana will want away because ...well he will ,trust me. Bart is probably a better keeper (on his day) than KD, but he isn't in the plans,or at least I don't think he is. On the other hand I fully expect Saga to be still hanging around the place until June 2010. Nobody is going to pay him what we are so he might as well hang around and keep drawing his megabucks for another 6 months. If we want to get shot of him, well then we'll have to pay him off. -

I thought they spent 8 million or something like that, perhaps there were debts to pay off or something of that ilk. -

2 in that case, plus at least 1 squad player. Plus Trotman and maybe Mellis as well. -
I preferred Mr Whippy

Not that many millions, not compared to Peterborough or Leicester, mind you their results were far far better.I mean compared to Leicester's last season our results must be considered as p*ss poor. -
All the more reason to field a strong side on Saturday and hope for a plum draw in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.We don't desperately need the money from it but it would certainly help to pay for "luxuries" like avoiding 7 hour bus trips to Hartlepool and Carlisle.

Play a reserve team against Northampton..?

Whoops, hadn't looked too closely at the fixtures. -

In any case our first team should be able to beat Northampton without too much trouble, then they have a week before the next game. It's not the same situation as playing Charlton on a Wednesday and then Brighton on the following Sunday.I think we should field our best available side and I'm sure we will. -

they do, if a side is too under strength without a valid reason the FA fines them 10 bob or something like that. However the club doctor usually puts in a bit of overtime finding imaginary injuries and handing out sick notes. -

I don't think Chelsea have given permission for Mellis to play in the FA Cup. Our options are really limited. -

Don't know about that either, the play-offs are unreachable and we won't go down(or anywhere near it) so might as well get a bit of cup glory and then move forward next season. -

Don't know about the money really, we are running as a business and that means getting in everything you can get.If M L was throwing money at us like Abramovic or the Man C sheikh it would be different. We are paying players to do nothing (ie Saga) and that means money is being wasted so we probably need all we can get. -

Mellis and Trotman won't be available, that's the trouble,Mclaggon is on loan somewhere (unless he's back), we're down to the bare bones really cup wise. -
Mathematically the play-offs are out of sight, they always were when we didn't wipe out the 10 point deficit within the first 6 or 7 games. We need 2.17 points per game to reach 75 points from here on.That's 22 point from every 10 games, meaning we need to win 6 out of 10 and draw all the rest. If we could win 7/10 and draw 1 we could afford the luxury of a couple of defeats now and again--but it won't happen, not with our defence.

Probably starting to hear a bit of transfer talk concerning him. Always f*cks up a player's season. If there's an offer he'll be away-count on it.Same as every other player in our side. We ain't moving on up this season and none of them will be any younger come next August. No player worth his salt wants to languish in League 1 for ever so we'll be losing a few either in January or June
-
the players "sit" where the coach and manager tell them to. We play a pattern or formation which is dictated by the coaching staff. The player probably don't have any choice. Did you see AP screaming at either of them to get further forward? NO, then that's where he told them to be.The modern footballer is not Roy of the Rovers, he plays whatever role the manager tells him to.If he doesn't he gets subbed or shipped out-à la Saga.

Who's that then Millwall or Swindon?:confused::confused:
-
the play-offs weren't a realistic proposition 4 or 5 games into the season. They're even less realistic now.We ain't going to make up 15 points from here on we'll have done well to be 5 or 6 points off of those positiions at the end of the season.Until our defence is properly sorted (and by that I mean 3 or 4 new players depending on injuries etc) we'll just bump along gaining mid table points and getting further and further off the P-Os
-
not so poor really, but not so great either.
-
and 7 goals conceded
-
what do you expect. The strikers score goals and then they're let down by the defence. We will not get any really good results until we stop shipping goals. No point in working your ass off scoring at one end to have the bunch of knobs at the back throw it away every time.

like it was before today, the situation hasn't changed really.
