Did you see AP screaming at either of them to get further forward? NO, then that's where he told them to be.The modern footballer is not Roy of the Rovers, he plays whatever role the manager tells him to.If he doesn't he gets subbed or shipped out-à la Saga.

the play-offs weren't a realistic proposition 4 or 5 games into the season. They're even less realistic now.We ain't going to make up 15 points from here on we'll have done well to be 5 or 6 points off of those positiions at the end of the season.Until our defence is properly sorted (and by that I mean 3 or 4 new players depending on injuries etc) we'll just bump along gaining mid table points and getting further and further off the P-Os

what do you expect. The strikers score goals and then they're let down by the defence.We will not get any really good results until we stop shipping goals. No point in working your ass off scoring at one end to have the bunch of knobs at the back throw it away every time.

No, good substitution. Harden up midfield and reinforce the defence, sounds alright to me, we have plenty of other attacking options.

an hour of NFL takes well over 3 hours to elapse. Do we really want that in football? 90 minutes would take about 4 and a half hours, you'd have about 15 officials for every game, you can't have 1 set of rules for the premiership and §1 set for League 2. It's just not do-able, you can't have Hawkeye video for the commercial houses league on the Common of a sunday.

It was pretty obvious from the replays that I've seen.Shaquille O'Neil (sp!) would have been proud of that ball control.The goal should never have been allowed to stand but then that's up to the ref and his assistants.

FIFA and footballing authorities in general will never ever grant replays. Otherwise it would become like the NFL with challenges,play reviews and time-outs.Anyway apparently Anelka was brought down in the box a few minutes before and a penalty should have been given. I didn't see it because I was on late shift yesterday but all my colleagues were in agreement this morning at coffee break.
