  1. T'is true. There are already some pretty boring games at the WC. Now if you're going to add 16 teams not good enough to qualify for a 32 team final round it's not going to get better. The only major compensation might be less qualifying games, like the play-off round or something.
  2. Cheap punt that no doubt left a negative effect on the balance sheet though. Fee, agent's fee, salary, costs. Probably cost us somewhere between 3 and 4 million at the end of the day for zero return. That sort of deal is why we have no money for real transfers. Gardos is the same, a total waste of money, he's probably cost us over 10 million so far and is just not contributing anything. Big clubs can afford that sort of thing, they can always get a Chinese Noodle maker to fund their errors but ours come at the price of selling good players and replacing them with average ones.
  3. Right. Although I seem to remember that plenty of "experts" on this very forum were assuring us that Juanmi was the next big thing and it just needed time to prove that. He was too small and too predictable to do anything useful in our league. Much the same as Clasie really.
  4. Juanmi left after a year as well I believe. Then again that's probably because he was totally unsuited to EPL football and it was a wise thing to do.
  5. Because we'll probably have even more players involved?
  6. You think so ? Doesn't look anywhere near sharp enough for top class football to me. Seems to think that the same old, same old that made him a top striker in the Dutch League will get by with the infinitely better defenders of the EPL.
  7. He'll probably look pretty good in the Dutch League, same as he did in unders football in Norway. Why even I looked pretty sharp when I was playing for Taunton's U15s. Trouble is my parents didn't make a shedload of cash from Real Madrid by hyping me up before anyone found out that I wasn't much good in the real world.
  8. Well I'd think we'd be fairly safe in assuming we won't be bidding 34 million £ for anyone at any time soon.
  9. Why isn't he being considered though. Because he's a permasick or just crap?
  10. Trouble with Great Expectations is that there's always a Miss Havisham..
  11. Told you, we probably need the replay money.;)
  12. Well no,I think he still lives in Philly. Goes to Eagles games though, so he's obviously seen plenty of crap performances lately. .
  13. Doubt if any of that will happen. It's a home game, Norwich fans travel en mass and we have good core support. Can't see it being anywhere near as badly supported as some of the Lowe era and League 1 game. I don't see much to protest about really either.
  14. Not giving a toss about South African international cricket myself, I'm pleased that we've signed some good players. Perhaps the S.A test scene isn't up to much.
  15. Probably need the money from a replay.;)
  16. What has happened to West Ham then? I looked at the game last evening and couldn't figure out why they've got so awful all of a sudden. I mean they had quite a reasonable season last year, don't remember any major exits and yet they look utterly clueless. Is it because Payet has dropped right off ? Seem to remember him scoring a few goals last season.
  17. Nope haven't seen those. Always considered a pretty regular guy in this part of th eworld
  18. Unnamed, casual public house acquaintance I expect.
  19. He's not a loon at all, don't know where you get that idea from really.
  20. With his Silver Lining Playbook.
  21. At least José has an Euro winner's medal to his name. For me he's just trying to cash in on that now rather than chasing any illusory dream.I mean Bentley José obviously has standards right!!
  22. Depends whether Mendes got anything out of that I expect.
  23. Not surprised myself, I just assumed we didn't play him in he Europa League games to keep him free of any illegibility issues later in the season.
  24. Exactly as it says on the tin, a totally new contract, completely different from the old one, probably a bit of a fee for signing it as well. I mean, if you get a new car, it's not your old one with a set of go faster stripes and a new M.O.T is it.
  25. How much are Liverpool asking for Sakho, Sakho and VvD, that would be some pairing.
