  1. Sounds about right.
  2. What a monumental mess this is becoming. Governments should never ever organise public consultations over anything important.
  3. Wasn't just Wanyama, practically the whole spurs side looked out of sorts and generally pretty clueless.Lloris almost gifted the germans a goal in the first minutes.Spurs inability to score is obviously affecting them badly.
  4. Nevertheless I'd expect him to abandon the PL for the time being and move to Spain although there is some rumour about him signing at Marseille for a while. Think Garcia is a sort of admirer and he needs to rebuild the side.
  5. We look well organised and City look..well crap.
  6. Well not really. It's pretty obvious, well from afar anyway, that the Brexiters have no idea what they're doing and are groping in the dark for the path forward.
  7. sounds very West Side Story era.
  8. Trump's entire campaign reminds me of Brewster's Millions" in a way.
  9. Oh dear, Vince has failed again with the bat in today's ODI against Bangladesh; The bloke is really harming his career prospects in my view, why is he opening ?
  10. I thought Bransgrove said yesterday (or the day before) that Durham being prohibited from staging test cricket just gave everyone else a better chance because of less available grounds. Could be wrong there though.
  11. yep read up on it on the Beeb now. 48 point deduction is just 2 maximum point wins anyway, shouldn't have too much trouble wiping that off with their line up (if they can keep it). In fact compared to minus 10 in football it's quite reasonable for the offence. With Topley and Edwards plus the young lads who've come through this season we might not be too bad, even in Div 1.
  12. Well, well, whatever next. Perhaps we already knew eh and didn't bother trying to beat them week before last....or not. I am not unpleased although the manner of it is ugly enough. We got points deducted for minor things so why should they get away with something more serious. They can't appeal can they ?
  13. Especially as Inter wrote off that competition before they even started seemingly.
  14. Think it does, if he's saying Andy isn't right then it's fine as it is, not that I think that's what he meant though.
  15. Pfff if they wanted a wheeler dealer, barrow boy type manager they only had to appoint the organ grinder of the art and not the second stringer.
  16. absolutely, if we'd been capable of taking a "normal" number of bonus points throughout the season we'd have not been in the do or die situation that we were on the penultimate day of the season. We were incapable of bowling sides out and that's down to poor management and coaching.
  17. Good news about Topley and Edwards then plus a new bowler in view. Was always going to be our problem this last season, dibby dobby dolly drop bowling gets you nowhere, especially if the batting is on the erratic side.
  18. Losing interest must mean that there aren't enough games surely. It's the 13 th September and we've played just 4 competitive games since mid May. Once we get the old Tuesday/Sunday/Thursday going it will be much more interesting. Football is about playing and watching actual games not speculating about it for months on end on t'internet.
  19. Well.. could Middlesex be doing us a big favour here. They restricted Lancs to 2 bowling points although they collapsed a bit afterward and now the same Lancs are 6/3 in reply. Of course we've seen plenty of middle and late order partnership contrary our plans this season so nothing is certain but a drubbing with just a couple of points for Lancs would put us into a not so dusty position for the last round of games. Oops scrub that, Lancs have gone to 6/4 while I type.
  20. Don't remember our start to last season being particularly inspiring either. We won one game out of 6 I think in the League and got tipped out of Europe in the preliminary rounds.
  21. I see that the Luxembourg Foreign Minister wants to expel Hungary from the EU. It really is becoming a free for all shambles on many fronts. The Irish with their low taxes are now being told to toe the line over that, the Hungarians over refugee policy, I think the Polish are in some sort of trouble over some of their religious orders aren't they? It's gotten too big and too cumbersome to last very much longer in it's current state. Perhaps May is just waiting for an implosion.
  22. This is the problem, there doesn't seem to be a way forward except to procrastinate to the maximum extent and wait until Hollande and perhaps even Merkel are voted out of office next year in the hope of getting more from their successors.
  23. I did say footballer....
  24. Absolutely. A leave vote was never considered possible, the referendum was merely an electioneering exercise to filch a few,but oh so decisive votes, from the independentists and hard right. There was no exit plan and as far as I can see there still isn't. However scaremongering was never the way to go. Still costs me 300£ a month though due to the exchange rate fall and I couldn't even vote. If we european long term expats had been able to vote the result may have been different as this was always going to cost us money, probably far more than anyone in the Uk...
  25. Had a chat with my Strasbourg aquaintance today. Apparently Gasmi is playing in Thailand. Has been so for about 4 years now. I suppose a pro footballer who really wants to play can find a game anywhere nowadays.
