  1. then again there's Islam and Islam. As far as I can comprehend these Salafist people not only want to live their own lives as did the original followers of Mohammed in the year 500 Ad or so but they want all the rest of the world to do so as well. I may be wrong there though and that all they really want is a place of their own (you know like Israel or an Amish community) where they can do as they wish and not trouble the world any further with their backward ways. Should that really be the case I'm all for it, get all these burkkad women off our streets and off of our social security bill.
  2. Pfff Local leagues, I got a yellow card in a game I wasn't even on the pitch, our star striker was on a suspension and when about to be cautioned yet again he gave my name and not his. Ref was about 12 and just noted it down anyway.
  3. Wave the chequebook? In our case it's more like rattling the loose change jar..
  4. Hollande and his crew have the nickname "Les Bisounours" which is what the French call the Care Bears.
  5. I don't want to feel old, I just do on occasions
  6. Silly doping conviction which put him aside from the end of their campaign last season and now he's playing up ? Must be a new form of transfer request I suppose.
  7. Ooh difficult to say, when are José and Cedric due to report back? I saw in L'Equipe that Utd have recalled all of their remaining Euro players for today, even those that made the final. I'd not want to start the real nitty gritty with Stephens, neither will Claude.
  8. Well I think the UK is still liable for healthcare anyway. I'm not quite sure how the system works though, I know that here in France if you've not contributed to the system and have your SS Number you have an absolute minimum cover. So for British people living here without ever having contributed to the French SS system I'd think it's more likely to be private health schemes that pick up the bill for any major treatment. When you visit a GP here you pay and get reimbursed within a few days, if you don't have A Carte Vitale because you've not contributed then I doubt if the SS gives you your money (or part of it back). The system doesn't work like the GPs in the UK, where the state pays the GP and anyone registered with them consults for free (or I presume it's still like that). Here you pay and get back a proportion which depends on what it is and who you saw. For instance, my wife had a tooth replaced recently, the whole jobby cost 1600£ (for one tooth). We've got good mutuelle coverage and still ended up with over 900 out of our pocket. The state's contribution to that was about 120£. So if you're a UK pensioner living in the Dordogne or something all would come out of your pocket or any private insurance you'd take out, either in the UK or here.
  9. then again if you compare the proportion of income that Britons spend in the EU and the proportion of income that all other EU residents spend in Britain I think you might find that it's significantly greater. Already you have a lot of retired people (maybe 700/880K?) who's only income comes from UK retirement funds living in France, Spain, Portugal etc, how many retired Spanish live in the UK ? Britain contributes to the economy of other member nations in more ways than just EU contribution, or I'd think so anyway..
  10. Well perhaps you're right but I don't see a lot of "young players" in today's starting line up. There's JWP and Redmond of course but that's about it.
  11. I'd not take it too seriously, it's just as likely paper and agent bollorks. Monaco don't want him so they're probably just trying to up the ante and get another 2 bob out of Betis Seville for the transfer.
  12. Why would he want to be second choice here when he actually gets to play at West Ham....
  13. Ah well, post on #I am Munich, light up monuments in the colours of the German flag and await next weeks episode I guess.
  14. you'll get people asking you if you've actually ever seen him play for posting stuff like that. Some just seem to refuse to accept that some players aren't destined for great careers at Saints and will be moved on because they are of little or no use to us and cost a lot of money for very little contribution...
  15. Vince annoys me, he's obviously got what it takes technique wise but he gets to 30 or 40 and then does something completely stupid which you'd castigate an U16 for doing. Then again I'm a spoilt Marshall (Roy not Malcolm although he wasn't dusty with the bat either), Richards, Greenidge, Turner, Jesty, Gower, Smith, Smith type throwback.
  16. As I said the other day, they're not desperate to sell and he's not desperate to move, certainly not to Watford. He's looking at a Top 10 in Europe Club, he'd probably be about as interested in Saints as he evidently is about Watford. No club is going to offer them mega buck until he plays again anyway, then there's the ANC.
  17. Well Vince has done his prospective test career no good again today. Same flawed judgement, same stupid shot as usual. He's got the shots, he just doesn't always have the judgement necessary to use them at the highest level.
  18. It never has been all that great.
  19. Another fine example of West ham's scatter-gun recrutement policy. Try to sign everybody and hope to get at least a couple of half-decent players in the end.
  20. Probably are in Leicester and Bindippaland..
  21. Because gone are the days when relegated teams couldn't afford to keep their better players if they didn't get decent offers for them.
  22. So in fact whilst the "abusive posters" (not that I'd recognise who that may be) are here and users don't pay because of that, the site makes more money out of them.
  23. On Juventus's part it's just plain common sense. 100 odd million for Pogba and 35 million for Sissoko to replace him. Less salary as well no doubt. Both have their off days and high days so I really don't see 70 odd million quids worth of difference between them.
  24. Wouldn't know, don't look at them . Don't see the problem really, it's a free world, each user can choose to use one site or another. If one doesn't work well use that that does. The cost of membership of this particular site is £5, it always has been so if you don't want to pay, fine then don't but quit complaining if you don't get the same service as those that do.
  25. Anyway I've sent him a PM for you.
