  1. 42 million for 2 players we probably don't need...not very likely. These are West Ham and Watford type signings at best and just pure agent bolloaks as often as not. Both work permit candidates anyway.
  2. Boufal has already had the surgery on his knee, he speaks of being back into competitive condition in "September" but says he has no fixed date as of yet.
  3. Managed to put on another 25 this morning and more importantly knock 10 overs or so off the days total. With a bit of application we should be able to bat it out, I presume we'll be asked to follow on, and salvage 10 points from the game. With Notts looking to be in a bit of a tricky situation just now and Surrey not so many points ahead having played more games things might not be so dusty. Thanks to McManus and Wheal principally.
  4. I know very little about him, I don't watch a great deal of French football nowadays really. He's highly rated but as I have no illusions that the French League is one of the weakest serious leagues in European football that's no great recommendation really. So many before him have gone for big prices and failed miserably when faced with the reality of real men's football. Like Cabella,Stambouli, Yanga Mbwia, that bloke from Toulose at Sunderland, what's his name Wasiri or something like that. Then again you have your Hazards and Girouds. Has skill but the English game may be too tough for him.
  5. And in 2 years time they'll be getting their annual run out in pre-season à l'Isgrove before being farmed out to some lowly outfit or other. We're paying 10-15 million £ for players of their age and there must be a reason for that. They're best off moving on and making some sort of a career for themselves elsewhere. Signing lads like our new Dane for real money should be an indicator as to the status of all these perennial "ones for the future".
  6. There was nothing left but unecessary hardship left for him anyway, well apart from Sunday's jaunt on the Champs but 4 days in the mountains, although relative low ones, was too high a price to pay. Green is gone, Champs is a lottery so why bother.
  7. Potentially bad for the EU...a new exode of Turks fleeing the oppression there. Still at least they might be westernised Turks and not those drawn to more islamism.
  8. He's been saying that he's not adverse to staying at Lille if no advantageous transfer can be arranged for him. According to L'Equipe there aren't many suitors and he doesn't fancy Wolfsburg or Schalke... We'll see what happens but the knee injury is really affecting both his and Lille's plans seemingly.. As I said yesterday Guirassy is going to Cologne as planned but for 6 million euros instead of the foreseen 10 because of an old knee injury that Lille were less than honest about in negociations. That will ease the immediate financial pressure on them and they're not going to sell of Boufal on the cheap. I think he harbours some sort of idea that PSG will come in for him before too long.
  9. Thing is Mr Biscuits there are a lot of very bright people in places you'd really not expect to find them.
  10. so they say.....
  11. Then again neither do Pakistan, Israel, India, South Africa not to mention all the old Soviet states where there must be a few hanging about.. Nuclear weapons are spread about everywhere, there are even about 40 or 50 in Turkey so if the Incirlik base ever got overrun it would be a bit of a shambles.
  12. Marseille are selling off anything that isn't nailed down. Madame wants her money and isn't having much luck in selling the whole club. Got a couple of derisory offers but can probably make more out of the individual parts.
  13. they'll regret that then, not a very good player at all.
  14. the post concerned Rafa Silva, like you I've no idea why it's on the Tadic thread.
  15. Now out of our league, don't get your hopes up.
  16. Ah Lagarde, the lady who's in no end of trouble for letting her acolytes hand over 400 odd million to Bernard Tapie over the Adidas sale. A sum which he now has to pay back and of course hasn't got 2 centimes of it to rub together...well so he says. I'd not take her opinion on anything as gospel really, flawed judgement.
  17. 13 million a year for 5 years. So his take on the affair is about 85 million of which the leech Raiola will take about 15-20% I suspect.
  18. 20% of the total apparently.
  19. Kind of normal, Scotland would just be another drag on the richer nations of the EU with a no doubt negative contribution and a non EU nation to cross to get there. Krankie just has delusions about the importance of her province.
  20. At that price Real will buy him, that's where he wants to play. The problem comes from the 25 million € cut that Pogba takes from the deal, pushing the price up to around 125 million €. Real won't pay that even though they want the player and he wants to go there.
  21. No doubt some very attractive batting from Ervine and Wheater but when you come down to the nitty gritty we're 199/6 now and still over 400 behind, facing an innings defeat no doubt with absolute minimum points gained. This was a match not to lose. We could have overtaken Surrey with our match in hand in theory but now we've blown that completely due to absolutely dire bowling and rash batting.... Heads must roll.... I just do not get it, when we need to bat out 2 days over our 2 innings why are we hitting 6s and getting bowled 2 balls later? Now I'm old school, I remember the likes of Henry Horton, Chris Smith and more recently Neil McKenzie straight batting it for hours when we needed survive for 3 or 4 sessions. If someone could explain the new master plan to me that would be genial. Good job by McManus though, putting us in a position where we can at least hope to make them bat again at worst. Now some sensible batting from the senior men please.
  22. Well I don't get any of that, then again I pay my 5 quid.
  23. He probably is but there are rules that govern player's holiday time.
  24. At Southend you mean?
  25. No the 4 United players who made the QFs with their respective nations are not yet back from their break. Euro final was less than 10 days ago and a 3 week break minimum is mandatory I think. Player might want to go straight back to his club but it's not on. Did Cedric and José go to the US with Saints, no they didn't, are they back in training? No they aren't. Euro plays havoc with clubs' summer plans.
