  1. Liverpool are playing more games than us just now, it is they who should be worried not us. Then again they're probably a better side with their new manager.
  2. But we'll not be doing that because the result would be a total humiliation and that is unacceptable. We'll play more or less the first XI. We might even get accused of throwing a match with a team such as that..
  3. Strange that though, Ros must be a shortening of some other name surely such as Rosalyn and should thus appear as such on a legal document. Unless of course her name is actually Ros.
  4. Pretty much right, Koeman likes young players...but ones he's had purchased from elsewhere. After their chance had been given to them by other managers (or even himself). Take Clasie, he was a Feyenoord regular at 19, now he's with us. So if we have young players of 21 who aren't as good and thus not good enough they won't play..
  5. Bought him on the never never then. 5.5 million€ spread over 4 installments and 18 months and that if we resell him to a Portuguese club we owe Sporting 15 million euros.Talk about a sell on clause.
  6. Although some will make it controversial and produce irrelevant statistics to show that Koeman gives X (fill in as required) players from the academy at least 2 minutes of game time in the Woogy Woogy Boogy Trophy preliminary round.
  7. Knee jobby wasn't it, maybe sometime in January-February...won't get a game though unless it's in the Cup. Next season perhaps.
  8. Then again they weren't hanging about in the unders at a PL club at that age were they. Vardy was playing amateur football and Lambert was in League 1 or 2. The problem for players like Gape is that they just won't get a chance to show what they can do. Gape was in the first team squad when we moved into the PL, since then he's just nothing, maybe has had 10 minutes of PL football in 3 and a third season whilst the MF has been dominated by signings and truly gifted players who were already here at the same period. Koeman will not give them a chance, not in the PL unless the situation is desperate for' some reason or other. When he's gone we'll see but that won't be tomorrow, next week or next year. He needs to ask to go out on loan and make sure that it happens, otherwise he'll just fade away.
  9. Did not people say exactly the same about Andy Robinson...now starring for Dorchester Reserves or something ? Top players make the grade by the time they're 21, Gape won't unless we get another youth orientated manager. Does Gape even have a single England U21 cap?
  10. And what else was said in said press conference, can't listen to the man myself.
  11. And even if he's not good enough it's another home grown player on the list isn't it. Doesn't count as a senior player this season of course but he will next season,
  12. Plus a few sub appearances evidently because he's down as 28 or so games at Yeovil and 22 at Swindon. Nevertheless it's competitive football, playing against seasoned pros every week or so and getting into the real drift of things. I've no time whatsoever for unders categories because to me it's not competitve professional football.
  13. Mason was loaned out quite a bit I think. This is one thing that I reproach the hierarchy at SMS, these lads should all be out on loan from the time they're 18-19+. U21 football is nothing for them and at least by loaning them out it can be seen if they're got that little something extra that suggests that they'll eventually make the grade to the top flight. There is no point mollycoddling them in the unders making out that they're all stars of tomorrow..tomorrow which never comes of course.
  14. U21s on youtube yes, that is neither here nor there, he's 21, been at the club for years and is no nearer the 1st XI than he was a couple of years back. These lads will either make the grade by the time they're 19 or 20 or will just peter out as have done so many before them. You've got to be farkin good to be a PL player, even on the periphery of it and whilst these lads obviously have some attributes they obviously don't have what it takes to make the big step up.
  15. 21 and nowhere near the first XI....Swindon and Yeovil beckon.
  16. Then again you could say that if your prime creator is crap the rest must necessarily follow, especially with no Mané until the 65th minute.
  17. Away fans are often banned in Ligue 1 stadiums nowadays. StE still get good crowds though and the Cauldron hasn't changed much. Still a good place. Economics are of course biting in to French football everywhere and teams are become less and less inspirational.
  18. Yes I think so, Davis isn't a bad player at all and we could certainly use a home grown lad who's prepared to stay with us for a while once he's topped out..
  19. Now you're talking. I was always a terrace fan, even when my ordinary lifestyle would have put me into the West Stand regular bracket. I loved Saturdays in the Milton and similar spots in other grounds,, a place to swap your suit, tie and Gucci brogues for a few hours of fun every week. Kids were elsewhere in the choccy boxes, women..well unless they were like the isolated blonde nutter that was always there and who actually seem to enjoy getting groped by 2000 or so blokes every time the Saints came over the half-way line,..then you didn't see any, Tyrell and Greens was their Saturday spot. Real football, a game for men, played by men for the tittilation of other men.
  20. Both feet was just a misunderstanding caused by Koeman's iffy command of the English language. Never was a real issue. LvG creates similar confusion amongst the OT faithful because he confuses the use of 2 Engllish words which are both the same in Dutch...apparently.
  21. Strikes me that he's become a mini-Davis, a sort of jack of all trades who excels at none. His primary goal should be to become efficient enough to replace Davis in the side as starter and see where he goes from there. Until he does that he'll be in and out of the side.
  22. Probably because many "real" fans have been priced out of football because of the ST dominated policies. If you've not got the wherewithal to be a ST fan then you may or may not get a ticket for individual games. Too many kids, too many women, too many old fogies is all that the ST policy encourages.
  23. The Turks were thinking that anyone helping anyone helping the Kurds is their enemy. The Turkish attitude towards the Kurds is one of the most important sideshows of the whole affair. The Kurds are battling the EI on the ground, 10000 or so of them are 12 miles from Raqqa, if they prevail then they'll have grounds for a Kurd state and that's something that Erdoggan, an islamist at heart, will never tolerate. Then there's the case of the ethnic Syrian Turkmen who are battling against Bachar.
  24. And JWP is what exactly...this is the problem, no one really knows, he's certainly not got the qualities to make a real DM, if he's not an AM then that only leaves the nebulous role of CM or utility man.
  25. Didn't Citeh want to give us 20 million for him a while back..well this way with the money then gents.
