  1. It's all about, pace and physicality and many players coming from Italy don't have either and very few both. Being a technical genius gets you nowhere when Wes Brown kicks you up in the air. It's not just Italians either, many Spanish,Portuguese and South Americans don't make the grade either. You need special talents to play well in the PL.
  2. Anyone who had seen him on Sunday evening would tell you that it's a not to be touched with a barge-pole situation, rank awful, he was subbed at HT. Let Palace have him, or better still Pompey.
  3. I'll tell you what will smooth the path, 25 million straight out, no adds-on and no haggling. It's nothing to do with any malarky between LvG and Koeman, why oh why do they make this crap up, does it sell papers, advertsing space?
  4. Being first choice for Sporting is not comparable to the PL, no doubt a decent player in those leagues but as we have seen with say Djuricic you need to be a bit more solid in the PL,
  5. Small and lightweight, will get eaten alive in the PL. All sounds too bargain basement to me, still it's probably only just an agent propagated rumour.
  6. Don't think that that one has made the headlines as of yet.
  7. Not really, he won't cost them a great deal in the end and he's a proven goalscorer in the PL. We've all see what happens to some Calcio and Liga goleadores in the PL...thay cost around 30 million and then don't perform. Balotelli scored a lot of goals in Italy I think, Osvaldo a fair few not to mention Soldado. The PL is so completely different that proven PL quality counts for a great deal.
  8. Chelsea,Arsenal and Citeh have all the cash they could possibly need, didn't get any too far last season though. It's not about cash per se, it's about priorities. If you want to win the CL and you're an English club you have to sacrifice the PL title and hope you make 4th. PL football is too robust, no easy games, no walkovers against teams of factory hands like there are in Italy,Germany and Spain. In fact because there's so much cash in the PL it just makes it harder in the CL.
  9. Transfer window speculation just gets a bit wilder each season. I blame fantasy football myself, would be journalists just make stuff up according to the disposition of their latest ff selection.
  10. Or just someone who couldn't be assed and said he/she was the cleaner...been there, done that, one of the oldest ruses in the can't be assed with idiots on the phone guide book. Used to buy you at least a few hours, then of course some knob invented the mobile telphone.
  11. Oh drat...they made 251, still an excellent day for our bowlers, now we need to make 400 or so.
  12. Good day for the bowlers then, might even get them out for less than 250...hopeful eh.
  13. Well that's Wenger for you, doesn't like to have to admit he was wrong about anything, could probably have signed Morgan a couple of years back..didn't want to so now he won't pay 5 times as much as he would have then. Fabregas.. well he wouldn't take him back even if he had first option on that, Song..well he'd have improved them as well but that would have meant going back on his original decision..he does it all of the time, always has.
  14. Euros though I expect, 2 million quidish. 40K a week in popular parlance. Obviously still cashing in on a WC final appearance.
  15. What do ou expect, they're trying to buy Tevez, there'll be nothing left in the piggy bank after that. We should just give them Osvaldo.
  16. We obviously drive a hard bargain. Toby cost us a lot of money because of his 5 million € a year salary. Far more than we usually pay anyone else, it's kind of normal that the buy in price wasn't too high and that there was a penalty clause if they didn't honour it.
  17. Right see it now, still looks yellow to me though, cheap graphics card I expect.
  18. Free agents of proven quality always get good salaries. No transfer fee, no drawn out, crappy negociations with greedy clubs, quick and easy. What would Milner cost if he still had a contract at City 15-20 million? Spread that over 4 years and you get about the right figure.
  19. Anyone recognise the badge on that cap he's wearing ? Adidas cap, normal he's an Adidas signed player but that yellow badge looks a bit familiar. Can't be an official MU adidas cap though yet can it?
  20. Doesn't look like Blackpool anyway.
  21. Going back to this one: Ntep was on TV just now, says he's had no offers, Rennes have had no offers and he's not really fussed about a move anyway.
  22. From what I saw against City he's forgotten again quickly enough.
  23. Although it could be that his brain space is somewhat similar to that of my first PC, 4 bars of 1Mo memory each, take away the Sonic and the iffy photos and there wasn't much processing space for much else. Like Osvaldo it also cost a great deal of money, figure of 28000 francs (about 2800£) comes to mind.
  24. Hah, the good Prince Ali now thinks that he should get the temporary job straight away and now has a team combing the rules of FIFA to try to find something that confirms that.
  25. Probably, however that's surely not the way Le Graet and the FFF think.
