  1. Strange how Grenier is perceived from the exterieur, he's more like Lallana really and then some because he can't tackle. His role bears no comparison to Morgan's really, a sentinel in front of the defence, purely there to recover the ball and send the team forward again. Only 2 real candidates for that role in their list Mavuba and Matiuidi and I'd say Morgan is the equal or better than both of them. Just plays for an unfashionable side which kept him out of the bleuets for the most part of the time and thus he has dropped outside of their system which is linear.
  2. I honestly don't know, Matuidi is far from brilliant in my view but when you're playing in a side like Galacticos PSG you may well look the complete player, Cabaye certainly can't claim a starting place there as of yet because Blanc depends very much on Thiago Motta and Lavezzi and sometimes you get the feeling he just tolerates a token french player because it's necessary.
  3. Think Cardiff recovered about 3 million or so of the 8 they were supposed to have paid for him. Perhaps that was just the outstanding balance though and Copenhagen agreed to take him back and write off the remainder of the fee.
  4. Depends really, we might get some money back, probably not all of it though. If he were to have a good WC we'd probably get more as there might be a bit of competition for his signature.
  5. If the Dieudonné had not been such a knob and paid his fines and his taxes it would have probably gone unnoticed still. He is just a common criminal, spiriting away all his earnings to Cameroon or something and then claiming he's bankrupt so as not to pay for anything at all, probably even gets social security handouts as well. When they raided his house in a smart parisian suburb they found nigh on 1 million Euros in cash, not bad for a bloke who's stoney broke.
  6. We shall see in June and July just how good Pogba,Cabaye and Matuidi are when faced with really decent opposition, they certainly didn't look all that good in South America last summer (well except Pogba, he wasn't there)
  7. Morgan should be in the squad ahead of Mavuba but he's not. As for Grenier and Sissoko they play in far more forward roles and to even think about Morgan qualifying for one of those he'd need to be playing in the Davis role at Saints week in week out, even if he had the aptitude for it that is. As MP won't play Cork and Wanyama in the same side I guess that's out of the question.
  8. Wanyama has obviously been having trouble with his leg since he came back, you could tell by the way he went gingerly about his tackles. Those weren't Wanyama tackles they were 8 year old maiden tackles.
  9. Coutinho was pretty awful last week actually, wouldn't mind him to be in the same rich vein of form:rolleyes:tomorrow.
  10. Hodgson did say though that this group had been selected on current form only and that others were not necessarily out of the running. Not sure that he didn't specify Carroll,Johnson and Barry after that.
  11. not necessarily, plenty of their players are at clubs with all sorts of nationalities as manager. It's more about the status of the club than anything else and of course European football, that's the common denominator. There's not one player on their list without it and the vast majority (bar one or 2) have played in the CL, it's the only level that DD respects.
  12. Clattenberg apart you mean......
  13. probably because he's been isolated due to the rubbish partners that he's been given. Playing with a good player can make you look better than you are, playing with a bad player can completely destroy a decent player.
  14. In theory yes but every time the question is raised someone informs us that it's not possible because of this HNA, I don't really know myself but if that's all that's stopping the FA recruiting superior players as do other nations then it needs sorting out. Who cares whether Wales get beaten by Armenia or not, they certainly shouldn't have any say in what England FA do.
  15. Mel probably wasn't impressed with him, WBA is a right old f*ck up this season, should have kept Clarke, you just can't make silk purses out of sows ears, without Lukaku they're not half the team they were last season, how is that the manager's fault.
  16. wouldn't make one iota of difference to Deschamps and his bosses at the FFF. Well known fact, if you want to be selected for the French national side get yourself a big club or at least one in the top 4 somewhere or other.
  17. does the home nations agreement not prevent that ?
  18. Have there ever been 30 man England squads before, just prior to WCs I suppose.
  19. Why not just take Arsenal's 15 million, much easier,
  20. Well known fact.
  21. Which is their modus operandii anyway. Sakho didn't want to leave PSG but as he wasn't going to get much game time with PSG because of the 2 braziliian CBs that they have there they told him that it was in his interest to move on. We all know that Mombaerts told Morgan to find a "better club" back in 2009 when we got knocked back to League 1, I think it might still be held against him.
  22. Squad of 30 to which you have to add Jagielka and Phil Jones so at least 9 of these players won't be making the final 23, some of those are quite evident others not so much so players can't really slack off too much in the remaining PL fixtures.
  23. They nearly did but Ukraine presented a weak side in the 2nd leg play off game (wonder why ) and a "miracle" transpassed.
  24. Not with the famous Home Nations Agreement as it stands he can't. No naturalised player has ever played for England I think and probably never will. If it was possible Sylvain Distin would have been playing for England years ago.
  25. Not really, Smalling covers the position fairly well actually and you need to stop dreaming about Clyne.
