Is Katarina becoming a football fan ?
Window Cleaner replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Oh yes it is, anything derogatory that you can say about a person or organisation that can't be proved to be correct and that might affect their standing in society or in the eyes of others is libellous. -
Two I think, free kick for Fonte's goal home to Sunderland and one for JRod's equaliser at Stoke, not sure that it was a free kick or corner though.
-
It is a personal opinion, can't ever see him getting very far in top class football, he is too small and too weak to play in the position that he does, I've always had that opinion about him, it's nothing new. If we want to compete at the top level, which I presume that we do, we need far better players than JWP. Which is why so many seemed to want Banega and players like that I suppose, or this Hunt fella that we're supposed to have already done a deal for. To me every time that he's been given an important role JWP has been found wanting, like at Sunderland in the Cup or Everton away.
-
trouble is MLG I'm a bit of a knob where footballers are concerned, I'd give you 20 JWPs for one Noble or Nolan, I want Saints to have good players now not in 10 years time , say what you like but I've no time whatsover for JWP, to me he is weak and wishy washy and I can't see him ever getting much better.
-
Shaw (although personally I'd take Chelsea's money and replace him with Kurzawa from Monaco at a quarter of the price) and Chambers yes, Ward Prowse I can well do without, nowhere near good enough for my liking, think he's a bit full of himself actually.
-
He did perform quite well,he also missed 2 easy chances, no doubt down to overeagerness, pity that he's had this family bereavement of late, however you'd have to assume that he was playable against West Ham and it wasn't what Lambert was doing on the field that would have kept Gallagher off of it for 80 minutes. Whole situation has become confused because Lambert needs junking if were going to get anywhere better this season.
-
The difference is that you can hire people with skills from outside your particular field to give one off or occasional services, you don't need to make them directors of the company with a permanent role that's obscure enough.

Osvaldo had been acting up since god knows when, Cortese going was obviously the final straw for him, had we not been negociating loans to Italy for him long before Cortese's departure was finally announced ?. We could have got a loan striker in for the rest of the season with an option to buy but we didn't, why do you think that was then? Need I remind you that one in one out as confirmed by Mauricio turned into two out none in.

I'd have thought that our performances in the cups this season would have shown us exactly where we are with the youth project. Our youth apart from the "cherries" will soon be swelling the ranks of Yeovil,Aldershot and Salisbury as per usual. I've seen it all before, we've had so many stars in the making who just turned out to be total rubbish or have poor attitudes. It's nothing new, every club wants home grown talent, that's why Arsenal and Manchester Utd have scores of young players who will never be quite good enough for them out on loan at Burnley,Peterborough and beyond. In the main young players who will one day be good enough to be first team regulars in the PL will have shown that by the time they're 18 or 19, most of ours certainly haven't done that yet.
-
Only plays bit parts in their League team I think, played 60 odd minutes in the EL game though and scored an easy goal. No doubt that they took him for the Europa League as they have all the strikers they need for the Calcio. Italian Federation probably wanted him playing on a regular basis though. don't know how the England set up handle those sort of cases but it is universally known that the FFF tells players who aren't regulars in their sides to find new clubs if they want to continue being part of the national team.
-
Which is why of course we've spent nigh on 70 million in 2 summers. Where would we be now if we were solely reliant on the "Academy" probably about half way down the championship. The nucleus of our current side has come from the exterieur, only Shaw and Chambers have come from the Academy, well Lallana but he was here before these owners, might even be after they leave as well. It's just a pipe dream that we need to abandon if we really want any form of recognisable success.
-
Because I've no doubt that that was the project sold to him at the time. He was playing CL football at Celtic, he apparently had some offers from other European clubs but he chose us because of our ambition, at that time the talk was of CL football in the foreseeable future, perhaps not next season but not in 30 years time either.

No idea what you're on about there really, I have no confidence in this owner to continue pushing the club upwards in the manner that I'd like, it's a personal thing, I've probably no base reason for it but the fact that the situation is so veiled peturbs me. I like Cortese's drive and ambition, the fact that his departure is surrounded in mystery fuelled by quarter truths and vague promises does not reassure me in any way. I've no time for Ice Hockey coaches cum personal motivators and obscure Austrian player's agents. If we seemed to be advancing on the CEO front I might be more optimistic but that seems to have been put into abeyance. -

You're right there Ottery, can't wait until she sells up and pushes off. I have no confidence in her whatsover. Far too opaque for a simple being like me, I like to know where things stand. -
England will never win the world cup again

the trouble is when you take away the non-England players from those set-ups they become mediocre. Take away Suarez from Liverpool and what have you got left, similarily Everton with Coleman and Lukaku. What's left are just nearly teams. -
He said himself that he chose us for our ambition, depends really on where we are with that now. To me our failure to sign at least a striker in January has shown me exactly where we are on the ambition front. We have an 18 year old and an old man whose legs have gone, not much ambition to be seen there now is there.

His recent performances and the fact that he came here to play CL football.

You think ?? Looked totally disinterested on Saturday, -
Remy will cost about 20 million, Pardew said only the other day that Remy becomes less affordable to them with every goal that he scores. At Osvaldo prices you're in the hit and hope brigade. Anyway I really, really doubt that we'll be spending much money this summer, not on transfer fees anyway. Think we'll be looking for decent free agents.
-
What meltdown, for me it would just be the shape of things to come. We had offers for 7 of our players in the January window, whether that included those that have now left or not I couldn't say. From the little I've heard at least one of those players wanted the move but the sum was judged insufficient and a new offer (presumably higher) came too late. No idea who that might be but it will certainly come to pass in the summer.,
-
We might even do well to finish top half actually, too many players look sh@gged out or half fit. Several just waiting for their summer moves perhaps, deals are already being done for the summer, whether we're doing that yet though I just couldn't say. Imagine how shame making it will be if West Ham finish above us.
-
Depends if Wanyama is fit though doesn't it, wasn't last week, reaction to his earlier injury apparently. Think he might have lost interest in us myself, only an opinion though.
-
I think you have to inform your insurance company at about the time of the accident(reasonable delay, varies though) that you've had a bump but that no claim should arise from it because the matter has been settled otherwise. If you did that then you should have no problem, if you didn't I've no idea where you stand.

Which Liebherrs ? I hope she's taxing her uncles, aunts and cousins for some of that newly created moolah then. You'd think they could bung us a few million £ in shirt sponsorship in that case wouldn't you. One branch of the family buys the club another gets most of the profit..doesn't seem right really. -
If you judged it on Saturday's performances then they'd probably be right actually. Pity England announce their squad so late, Thursday for the following Wednesday seems very tardy to me, not that the players don't already know of course. Still got a feeling that WC hopes are adversely affecting our performances, some trying too hard, some easing up so as not to get injured.
