  1. As I have just noticed something I've never noticed before I thought I might share it with you on this thread. If we had drawn with Sunderland the replay would have to be Monday next, ie 2 days after our game at West Ham because apparently UEFA has a fairly long standing ban on any National games being played on days when there are CL matches. Now I can see why no-one wanted a replay. Once we went behind it was 2 goals or bust in all reality.
  2. Article 26.3 of FIFAs WC regulations make 3 keepers mandatory, there is no choice in the matter.
  3. Really these nuggets of "fact" need to be backed up or kept to oneself.
  4. Which you will no doubt be proving to us at some time or other. Same old same old accusations which go contrary to the clubs official statements which basically says they are veiling the truth but various posters know better. Did KL not say she did her best to keep NC on board ? How does that equate with sacking him then ? Let me remind you of the contents of the Official Club Statement: Katharina Liebherr said: "With great regret we have accepted the resignation of Mr Cortese. He has done a wonderful job at the club and we very much wanted him to stay. A search has now begun for a successor. In the meantime, it is business as usual and we will ensure that the manager, the team and all the staff at the club have all the help and support they need." 5. Probably because the Troll Control option has been switched off. People just making wild accusations before the game even finishes in some cases just for their personal amusement.
  6. Morgan and Adam run a bit less than 8 miles each per game, now I know that 8 miles isn't 10 miles but there a plenty who consider their GSR performances of 1hr 40 as the bees nuts. Given that the actual playing time of a game of football must be somewhere around what an hour that means that if these lads were in constant motion for that time they'd be running 7.30 miles which isn't all that bad. Most of it is sprinting though and you'll have difficulty finding a sprinter who runs 120 or so 100 metre reps in a single training session. That's Lydiard run until you drop and then run some more training. People need to go and try it, go on go to the Sports Centre and run 120 x100 m reps in 90 minutes, that's one every 80 seconds.
  7. Looks like a handy job for those of that leaning.
  8. In your opinion, personally I don't care for the idea that the club has untrustworthy senior employees who are prepared to divulge personal information being spread about, we shall see how they consider that. I respectfully suggest that you refer to the original post on this thread where it is clearly stated that a senior club official has been divulging confidential information, I personally am implying nothing..
  9. Doesn't matter, it's not denigratory. The point here is that it's being stated that MP played a lesser side simply because he thinks it better to obtain personal reward as a result. That's denigratory, saying someone has a contract of XK£ per annum if he wants isn't. Club sources are invoked, in Lambert's case it could well be an agent of family member. It just isn't the same thing at all. You must see that a "high up in the club " staffer being accused of leaking information to all and sundry isn't acceptable, why it's Edward Snowden all over again.
  10. Can't have been, look at the date and time, Glasgow was peddling it way before that.
  11. So exactly who invented the bonus then ?
  12. Bit of a spoof there then, you forget to mention the bonus ffs.
  13. Defeat ? will depend on who exactly we play in attack, Lambert will get nothing from their CBs and we may need something a bit more lively. Want to see Gallagher again myself, ran the Arsenal pair ragged.
  14. Personally I have never known the club to have been run "for the fans". I've been going (on and off )for 50+ years and I've never thought of the club being run for me. The club have a team, play football, try to win, try to make the team better. Whether or not I chose to pay my money to go and watch them is up to me, when I don't go they don't miss me, someone else goes instead. As long as the PL keeps dobbing us 75 million or so every year then it makes no difference. Supporters will go because they like going to watch games but there should never be any illusion that you are an integral part of the club per se.
  15. WC matches are more spaced, Saturday,Saturday,Thursday,Tuesday I think. PLus the load will be spread over 22 players of presumably roughly equal ability and not Saturday,Tuesday,Saturday to be played by the same 15 or so lads come what may. Plus everyone has roughly equal spacing, not 3 days for one team and 7 days for the other.
  16. Dejan and Maya probably.
  17. No, I'm not a hypocrite, private is private as I've said.
  18. Sunderland also tried out some new signings. Personally I just can't understand this refusal to believe that they just might have better players than us when you look at the squads in their entirety. As I have said, I certainly would like to have Giaccherini,Borini and that new CB they've just got. I would also like to have the Argentine Olympics 2008 GK as a back up instead of any of the options that we actually have. Once you accept that football has become a squad game (As Nigel liked to tell us ad infinitum) then you can have no real beef with saturday's result.
  19. I mailed the club, I have sent a letter addressed to the CEO as well, where that will get me I just don't know. Haven't written to the club for ages, not since there were allegations of leaks (Allen affair perhaps) coming from a law firm with which I am aquainted in some minor way. On that occasion the perpetrator of the rubbish was dealt with by an extremely strongly worded letter, then again it was back in the days of Lowe et al and you knew who you were dealing with, could even have been "the execs".
  20. No but seriously someone has to do something to spare us from the horse manure mongers. A bit of tomfoolery you can understand but the continuous allegations that there are people well placed within the club touting information about contracts and stuff to all and sundry who care to spread it around as they wish just needs stamping out somewhere along the food chain.
  21. In my defence I did post about his birthday on the Sunderland reaction thread before this one started I think, am I let off ?
  22. What does he mean by sly people then ? Press pundits, bullsh*t spreaders what ?
  23. So when you correlate the two things (if Glasgow posted first that is) Either they are one and the same entity or Glasgow is the "person high up in the club" that told UJ about it all and allowed him to go public. I'm having none of it and have as I've said reported it to the club, if the admin won't relieve us of these people then perhaps the club will. This is Glasgow's post:Few accusations of pure selfishness on facebook. supposedly mopo was targeted with 8th or above and gets a huge bonus if succesful..... Explains why he has shown such disrespect to the cups. Lost a lot of respect for him today. This then became the original post in this thread from UJ. The one points to a few anonymous posts of FB, the other is a friend who's a friend of an important personage in the club personally told me etc. When will the admin clamp down on the continual stream of provocative crap from these people.
  24. Reid hasn't been playing much yet, just a couple of late sub appearances, Tomkins and Collins were still in defence I think but Reid might well start against Saints.
  25. So much for the people who were telling us only a month ago that Clattenburg wouldn't be reffing any of our games in the foreseeable future then. We made fools of ourselves and got knocked back that's it and all about it..
