  1. But Lambert was static, he had space to advance perhaps 3 metres before he would have been offside, Lallana is just standing there watching the double sombrero. We lack pace going forward if JRod isn't providing it. It's how you beat teams like Citeh.
  2. It is clearly stated in the accounts summary that only 22 of the outstanding 27 million are payable in the 2014/15 season and that this season we've paid off the 22 million we owed for this season. No problems there for me, the rampant cost of the training facilities does irk me somewhat.
  3. Great play, pity the rest of our players are so static at that time though, need to anticipate a bit more and be in motion. Morgan wll be a great player in a team where there's more movement in front of him, team with wingers perhaps.
  4. Bad weather always affects our batting, lads seems to think that they have to go after runs in a gung-ho manner to try to win what promesses to be a shortened game and our poor bowling being what it is... never works we always lose wickets cheaply.
  5. Bit of a poor start to the campaign yesterday then, not much play and some very poor batting in what there was.
  6. Well you know how it is in American sport, separate coaches for everything down to tea making and burger flipping so the poor bloke probably feels ill at ease with the idea that just one bloke does mostly everything.
  7. Yes Fonte is getting less and less reliable, there was absloutely no need for his gesture, ball would have probably run out, still I guess Gazza made him jumpy and he thought that he just had to do something.
  8. True, we shouldn't even be having this discussion........ because the bloke shouldn't even be here.
  9. Nothing dubious about either penalty, their second killed us off though and Silva was at least 2 yards offside for the last pass. Criminally bad linesmanning again, the FA really, really has to do something about all these game changing gaffs by officials. Thought we played well enough, nothing at the sharp end and of course we had the clown at the blunt end.
  10. Morgan's Mum probably wouldn't be worse, his Dad certainly wouldn't, don't know about Morgan himself. With Navas likely to show up the defensive weaknesses of our full backs Gazza will have some crosses to cut out. Shaw needs to be on top form today, if Navas takes him apart then his value will fall and his WC place will evaporate into thin air.
  11. What difference does that make, we have no-one else when Boruc is injured. Can't believe we didn't address that in January.
  12. Ha, Liz Coley, think she's still tipping off Longshot ??
  13. I could well see Lukaku being used as a trading chip for Barkley, lack of European football at SMS will hold us back when we're trying to sign that category of player.
  14. Whilst the above is no doubt correct Rooney has scored as many as JRod and has as many assists as Rickie, still as he's a knob he doesn't count.
  15. I think it's more a question of Barkley's ability than the fact that he's a home grown player. Chelsea,Citeh and to some extent Arsenal are proving that you can easily do away with your 8 home-grown players most of the time. You recruit 17 excellent foreign senior players, throw in a couple of HGs and fill out with non HG U21s .
  16. A lot of fuss about nothing really as far as Saints are concerned. Bloke came on at half time and did very little, no tackles, 1 shot, lost the ball quite a bit. We'd have been worse off if Sessegnon had continued I expect.
  17. We shall see about Lukaku, he'll be Belgium's number 1 front man for the WC now and if he does well Chelsea will get plenty of offers.
  18. Barnard is out of contract in June so he can go wherever he finds a contract without any counter deal coming our way. We're probably looking for a replacement for Cropper, he's out of contract this year, won't play for the first team unless there's some extraordinary upheaval so his time is done here as likely as not..
  19. Some lower league trialist or other apparently, we'll never learn.
  20. Perhaps we're having a good old clear out then.
  21. He is a typical sportstype who has been coached for a fair period by one or both of his parents. Many of them have difficulty in adapting to a more standard style of coaching. There are quite a few tennis examples, Mary Pierce, Marion Bartoli, presumably Murray and a few others. It's something that tends to be a bit specific to individual sports. Long term parent coaching tends to produce atypical athletes because the coaching has always been adapted to very specific characteristics of the person in question.
  22. It looks like Major League Soccer, ie a cheap imitiation of the real thing.
  23. I'd not be surprised to see Oxlade-Chamberlain not included actually, he's playing very poorly just now, although that doesn't seem to be a handicap for an England selection as a rule. Think it will be 2 of AOC,Sterling and Townsend, not all 3.
  24. No doubt, all these new rules and regulations seem to be so easily circumnavigated. Looked up the HG rule for the PL the other day and noticed to my surprise that 8 HG players in any 25 man PL senior squad is by no means set in stone, it's just that non-HG over 21s are limited to 17 that's all . Couldn't quite understand before just how Chelsea,Citeh and Arsenal were managing that. So with 17 foreign senior players and a few foreign U21s they have got round the rule that was supposed to guarantee the future of British football extremely easily.
  25. I'd hope that eventually FIFA will put a stop to this hoovering up of young talent by a few clubs because eventually it will create a sort of cartel where just a few decide who plays and who doesn't. Chelsea must have a side as good as many PL teams out on loan at this time. They probably have 30 or so players for whom they have no real use whatsoever.
