  1. See thread about players leaving, apparently the club rate Chambers as a better RB than Clyne .
  2. Guly, Forte and Isgrove are out of contract this summer so they'd be moving on as free agents with no nominal fees attached. Sharp will probably be moving out again, no doubt on loan with us continuing to pick up part of his salary. Other than that I think Morgan has nailed his colours to the mast so he'll be off and probably Shaw as well. We'll need to sort out the Clyne/Chambers situation as well, Nat won't want to play second fiddle for long, still think we've got that one wrong, not a big Chambers fan myself, solid but Clyne is better.
  3. People need to get over this "it's the midfield" fixation, 2 of them aren't there to score goals, they're basically defenders. Where we err is in attack, we are not clinical in our finishing. I think we had 15 shots on goal on Saturday and failed to score, Liverpool had 10 and scored 3 times. Lambert drops too deep and gets under the feet of the creative midfielders so they drop deeper and deeper. Gallagher isn't up to the job of leading the line and Lallana is hit and miss with his shooting. We needed to sign a keeper and a striker in January but the place was in a mess and we did absolutely feck all so we are now paying the price for that.
  4. When Gallagher started against Arsenal he looked lively, that might have been because he was playing with JRod and not instead of him. Today I thought he offered very little in his 25 minutes on the pitch.
  5. Plans B C D E and F involved sending on the efficient striker that we didn't buy in January because we are in a "difficult finanancial situation". Jeez have those people something to learn about football finances. I thought we played well enough today but had nothing at the sharp end again.
  6. Stoke are creeping up though,
  7. Why exactly. His control is awful. I can't believe that were pinning our hopes on skills like that.
  8. wiziwig as usual I expect. I go for the firstevents one.
  9. He's not dead, lost in the jungle or terminally ill, he's suffered the same injury as many footballers and other sportspeople before him. #tott
  10. Not really surprised about Boruc, totally absent from any of the build up imagery.
  11. Gaston in instead of Jay, otherwise same as last week.
  12. With all their new additions...not that they've made a great deal of difference so far.
  13. But why would Begovic, probably one of the best keepers in the PL, sign for a club who are barely above the one he's currently playing for. He'll have his pick of clubs, he'll go to one who are playing European football. Everton I expect, Howard is getting on a bit now.
  14. But it isn't so we needn't worry about it.
  15. Neil..... you know, Harvest, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby Stills Nash and Young etc.
  16. Against basically anything that isn't English.
  17. do you actually have 500 million £ ? If so lend us a tenner .
  18. But that's exactly what he is saying, new contract for MP, new players to take us forward or I'm off.
  19. So you're saying that the US told them where to look then? Now why wouldn't that surprise me, especially as they suddenly moved the search zone about 500 km north. Although I don't like to conpiracise there is nothing those bastards don't know and very little that they'll admit to knowing. Nothing has changed I remember my days as a civilian advisor at S.H.A.P.E, they needed to know everything about everything then and still seem to want to now.
  20. There are a lot of things they (meaning the board) have to do and then we'll see. How is that not controversial from a senior player? It is an ultimatum not a friendly word in the suggestions box.
  21. I think it's a fairly controversial interview for a player to give actually. Perhaps he's been misrepresented by the Echo, who knows. Seems like he knows he has nothng to lose, either he helps his manager get a better deal and a better squad or he's out of here anyway. Do our players usually give interviews to the Echo ?
  22. He wants to move forward, think non-selection for the WC when there are lesser players in his role has dealt him an awful blow. There is no way garbage like Guilavogui or Mavuba should be in the French side ahead of him, if it's down to being in Deschamps line of sight then he's obviously determined to correct that. Also I fear that some of our players might be concerned about our squad depth, to see yourself slipping down the table because you have to play with junk like Jos and Gazza might displease more than one.
  23. Obviously gave himself a bonus for getting a good manager for a poor salary.
  24. Salary is an issue, no-one likes to feel underpaid for the task they're doing and by all accounts MP is one of the least paid managers in the PL.
  25. Once again he's not started all of the games. If you look at the list (which I suspect is false anyway) most of the players have started 31,32,33 games and been subbed very little.Given that these CMs run 12k or so a game minimum just missing one start knocks you back a bit. I'm sure that the individual game figures are available on Statzone or something and there you'll see who actually runs most in games played.
