All sounds like bog standard tactics from "The International Player's Guide To Getting More Money" to me. Can't see anyone paying him 65 or 70K a week and certainly not West Ham. I suppose if he was available for them in the C1C semis it might seem a good idea to someone in that cowboy outfit but that's next week. I'd have thought their priority would be defenders though.
-
If he was anywhere near fitness then you'd presume you'd catch a glimpse of him somewhere in one of the build up galleries or videos. No sign of him anywhere so I'd say at least another 3 weeks to a month. A chipped bone isn't banal really, not for a professional footballer.
-
why not, in all honesty having no-one and using make shift solution just could not be much worse. Don't doubt that he's played his last game for us.
-
I couldn't really say it's the Cup, City have a heavy looking fixture list though but I'm sure that they'll want to get to the C1C final. Think they might ditch the FA Cup though if Blackburn take it seriously enough. West Ham's problem is similar to ours, they've lost their best player and one of the PLs best defenders for a long while and their results have dipped badly since then. They were never that good this season but since Reid's been out it's all gone tits up for them. Nolan getting suspended really doesn't help either and now he's out for another 4 (3 after today) so at least the 2 CIC games will help pay off that suspension.
-
Irrelevant to Lambert going there perhaps, then again I don't really accord much importance to that anyway. The point discussed is that Allardyce might not still be there to sign him because of the defeat today. Did Lambert play for us in the C1C at all, expect he did.

clyne left, chambers right...or we might even get a new player who knows. Fox is rubbish and adds less than any other option that we could invent.

since there are a lot of our cast offs there that will do nicely -
really couldn't say but they're obviously privileging the League Cup over the FA Cup, you only have to look at their side today to know that, some of these lads seems to be the reserve reserves, never even played in the PL, others have 1 sub appearance. West Ham have a lot of injuries and Nolan keeps getting suspended..cos he's an idiot.

much too difficult if we want to progress without taxing our players too much, we need crap and at home. -
2 legged game and City don't travel very well, they've also got an unwanted FA Cup replay to fit in somewhere in between. West Ham have obviously assessed the facts and played a really awful side, not that they're usually much good anyway.
-
not with the side they've put out, looks like their U21s or something, never heard of most of their players. They're in with a chance of a Wembley final and maybe even an Europa League place so they're not going to throw that away for the FA Cup.
-
League Cup??? remind me when their semi is...oh right Wednesday, they never took this game seriously and for good reason.
-
what do you expect? them to play their first team such as it is? They've got a League Cup Semi on Wednesday FFS.
-
well as they obviously never intended to take the game seriously then I'd doubt that it makes much difference to Allardyce's career. They're away from home, it's not their fans who've paid for tickets to see a joke side.
-
right how could I forget that.
-
it's a very substandard side that they've got out though,
-
Our effective squad is ridiculously small, must boil down to about 15 or 16 players in all reality, the PL lets you have 25 plus the U21s. To have 15 or 16 useful players including 3 U21s is a bit lame. We need to stop kidding oureselves that all these squad fillers that we have will ever make the grade. We're obviously a bit limit on salarial mass otherwise we'd sign good players on free transfers to replace some of our crap. Who was the last senior FT that we signed, must have been Lee I think, that turned out well didn't it.
-
it also depends on just how aggressive his agent is, think it's Tam Byrne, he's with some big agency or other but I don't know much about them.
-
except back to the Championship :smug:
-
really it's all about Boruc, simply because he controls his area. This quality in a keeper is vastly overlooked. He makes the occasional balls up, most do but controlling the box most of the time outweighs that. We tried KD and Gazza last season, you just have to accept that however they may look on occasions in games, overall they just aren't very good. Boruc might have conceded one of yesterday's goals.
-
3.5 million more like A cut of an 8 million £ deal wouldn't be negligible though, If it's 5% as it used to be that alone would come to 400K
-
mind you with the team that West Ham have put out this afternoon they must be desperate to sign new players. Definitely not taking the Cup seriously, then again it's only Forest.
-
perhaps most of them were a bit surprised to be playing after what the manager had been saying beforehand. Rotation blah blah blah, opportunities for young players blah, blah but in the end all we changed was the 2 CBs and JRod and Lallana got a few minutes off.
