Fonte is injured, people need to stop disputing this fact, Clyne wasn't passed fit, you need to lay off asserting things that you just do not know. Shaw was assessed by the docs and wasn't allowed to play. Doesn't matter what he says on twitter he wasn't fit to play. No sane manager in the whole wide world would play Fox if he had a fit Shaw at his disposition. Same with Clyne, if he was fit he would have played at LB with Chambers on the right, but he wasn't so he didn't.

doubt if we'll ever see Lee again, certainly not in the PL anyway. He got some sort of reprieve but he'll be packed off back to Japan very soon, might even be on the same plane as Maya. Neither seem to have any future with us.
-
Fonte,Wanyama,Shaw,Clyne,Boruc how is that a couple then? Fonte is injured, he didn't train last week at all.
-
he's rooted to his line because virtually every time he comes off it he gets it wrong. Look at that incident early on at Toon (when Chambers cleared off the line) Gazza came out to the side of his left hand post and simply missed the ball leaving the Newcastle player to square it and another to have a tap in, fortunately cleared by Chambers as I said. Gazzaniga cannot possibly be the best we've got because if he is we are paying a couple of other dummies to do nothing at all. How can a lad who played in the U20 world cup be worse, answer me that.

Fonte might have been on the bench but if he was playable he'd have come on at some time in the game as he did against Villa. He's obviously not fit and was on the bench to make up the numbers, same as Yoshida otherwise the Chambers left/JWP right nonsense would make no sense. If Clyne had been fit he would have started or been on the bench, just because they're in training doesn't make them fit to play. Our bench yesterday consisted of 3 subs and 4 to make up the numbers, I don't know if there's a rule to say you must present 7 subs but yesterday might suggest that there is. Shaw was ill, he might think he could play, the docs thought otherwise. Once again I would refer you to the training gallery, no Yoshi or Fonte because they're walking wounded.

Once again you'd have to agree that no wins in 6 with 4 defeats and 5 losses in a row are one and the same thing apart from semantics, but our injury and illness situation is obviously serious and if we actually have 12 totally fit first team regulars available it would surprise me.
-
True but none of us know the real injury/illness situation at the club. Looking at a couple of performances yesterday you'd have to ask yourself if Shaw wasn't the only one with a sore throat or whatever it was. Davis and JRod, good at Toon, both pretty poor yesterday. Steve Davis is pretty regular but yesterday he just wasn't at the races.

I'm not a big Cork fan, Wanyama is superior which is why he's in the starters when fit. Morgan doesn't get forward in the same way when Cork is playing mind you don't think he's really fit either and with the left side of our defence yesterday the DM has to be a defender rather than an assistant attacker.
-
but Suarez would have sunk it with his eyes shut right? When you're England's number 9 or Saints number 7 you have to be as good as the best.
-
We have to play Cropper, if he makes one save he'll have done better than Gazzaniga yesterday. If he's not even as good as Gazza then he shouldn't be with the club.

Obviously meant to be our back up striker this season but Osvaldo's injuries and lapses have made that impossible. Lambert just doesn't last 90 minutes any more and as we've nothing much else just now he fades after an hour or so. Lee has been chucked into the bin again and that just leaves us with Gallagher in reserve when Osvaldo is absent. All these promising lads being introduced to the first team group is well and good but if MPo doesn't have confidence in them it just serves to veil the truth. Yesterday we were down to the bare bones and i'm sure that there were players on the bench to make up the numbers. Can't see us introducing Reed to the PL at any time soon, Isgrove seems to have disappeared from view, perhaps he's injured though and Guly isn't ready yet. Leaves us nothing else so what we put onto the pitch in each game of late is what we have. We have players who aren't fit on the pitch and on the bench, due to our card situation we have a half fit player holding back in case he gets another yellow, the situation is far from desirable and so we have to play Lambert.
-
except get us a decent reserve keeper last summer.
-
even Nc would have to take our injury crisis into consideration I think.
-
certainly not going forward or perhaps in positional anticpation either. Got skinned for their second goal, thought he'd done the hard work and then Cork failed to cut out a ball he either needed to clear or leave alone. As we're short everywhere just now I could actually see an argument for using both of them against Cardiff, Clyne at RB and Chambers at RM.
-
I still think Fox had a reasonable game until he got clobbered, didn't Spurs first two goals come from raids down our right hand side ?
-
It's OK I can take it, Gazzaniga gets my goat and that's not going to change. He's a very poor keeper and whoever brought him to the club for an outrageous fee with 20 league 2 games in which he conceeded a shedload of goals needs shooting, perhaps he has been ..shot(or fired) that is.
-
Cork gave the ball away for their second goal, he's not good in the tackle. You need to stop saying silly things and displaying your little Englander ex pat mentality ART.
-
Indeed they have, we could easily have lost against City and Newcastle, Chambers saved his bacon at Toon and City squandered chances that they shouldn't have. I would actually like someone to explain to me why we paid nigh on 3 million £ for a useless lump with just 20 League 2 games to his credit. He was poor last season, he's poor this. If he had been seen as a realistic back up to Boruc he'd have been our Number 2 and played in the LC at least, he isn't and wasn't.
-
The European ship has sailed for this season unless we win the Cup or lose in the final to a CL team. We're 10 points adrift now.
-
Is Yoshida in the Build Up gallery, no he isn't, he's probably not totally fit or on his way out. Doubt if he'll play for us again in the latter case.
-
If you look at the training gallery from last Friday you'll note that you can't see Fonte,Osvaldo or Yoshida. Now absence from those photos doesn't set anything in stone but it's more often than not that if they aren't to be seen they're not fully fit.
-
I've looked up his record at Gillingham, conceeded loads of goals there as well, scores like 4-3 to Accrington, 5-4 Hereford, 3-3 against Bournemouth,4-3 Crewe, he was rubbish then and still is now.
-
we didn't pay nigh on 3 million quid for Ali Dia. Whatever possessed us to do that, 20 games in League 2 and then wham 3 million quid. No international caps, nothing. Think they lost most of them as well.
-
Why if he was going anywhere we'd be playing his little legs off now. We're obviously focusing on the Everton and Chelsea games, trying to ease the 4 yellow carders and walking wounded through until then.
-
ah right, I meant future games.
