Perhaps they're in the 'give the boy time' brigade. Doubt if he'll get any more after today.
-
Yes I do, I'd try anyone if it meant that Gazza was sent packing. Cropper played at the U20 WC with a bad defence but he still made a few saves against what you might assume are decent players. For me Gazza does nothing at all. I'd stick a free kick dummy in his place and expect better results because he just seems to be totally lost most of the time.
-
do we actually know that ?
-
he makes a few saves but not very many. My real beef with him is that he controls nothing, he anticipates nothing and he obviously makes the defence worried all of the time.
-
but we can't do anything before the next 3 games take place, ie storm passing. Obviously we aren't going to let the 11th January game pass with Gazzaniga in goal, until then, it's Cropper or as you were. I'd go Cropper, simply on the basis that he can't affect the results in a worse way.
-
Gazza was purchased after our accession to the PL and for a pretty penny to boot. I'd expect that he was not supposed to play for the first team at all this season but as our 2 front liners are out for extended periods at the same time we've just hit a brick wall. As we don't like loaning out out players and paying vast sums towards their salaries he was redundant and consigned to the U21s and then suddenly he wasn't. We've caught a cold with this lad that's all, shouldn't have made any difference to us but KD got injured at the same time as Boruc. We can but wait until the storm passes but I can see us losing every game whilst he's between the sticks. Opposition managers will have worked out just how sh*te he is and throw everything at him early on, like Villa did.

I'd have to look at it again but from what I saw i'd say the OG is more a problem of the keeper not stopping the cross as Jos would have expected him to do, it just hits him and goes in afterwards.
-
yes he did, thought he looked, well at least acceptable up until then. Did well for our first goal. Obviously we wouldn't have changed Chambers to the left and had JWP at right back if there had been any choice in the matter.
-
Fonte is obviously not right, don't think he appears on the training pics at all. He's also on 4 yellows and we probably just don't have anyone else to put on the bench. Virtually all of our players without major injuries were in the 18 today. Shaw being ill again just caused us one more concern, we are scraping the barrel just now.
-
often looks like that, second Spurs goal today was unbelievable, he just watched it and then tried to block it after it had passed him.
-
I've seen better keepers on public recreation grounds, he is just so gormless that it's not true. Can't understand why we play him, Cropper is on the list and at least he's played a few Us internationals.
-
not so sure, perhaps our back up plan in case of injury to Lovren and Fonte was to shift Victor back there. Didn't need to and then couldn't.
-
I notice that our youth team keeper trains with the 1st team now.
-
the wait is interminable, especially coupled with the KD injury which no-one seems to know much about. Gazza was never meant to play this season and we're stuck with him whilst we slide down the table. It's like watch a train crash in slow motion, you can't do anything about it you just have to watch.
-
But it's not a case of experience over inexperience, Gazza does absolutely feck all, every goal attempt has a decent chance of succeeding with him, he is just nothing at all, he has no effect on most games whatsoever compared to having a cardboard box in goal..
-
Same as I did today in the build up thread, to be feared more than anything the opposition might possess.
-
we can try Cropper can't be any worse. If he comes off his line and catches one cross in a game he'll have done better. Expect Gazza to get the chop at Cardiff. We just cannot support his lack of reactivity any more.
-
the defence is too weak to support it, the DMs are having to play too deep because of our defensive frailties. Morgan was at left back for half of today's game, can't press in the centre circle when your LB is getting ripped apart. Our YC and injury situation can't be helping, we obviously need to get Morgan and Fonte through the Cardiff game without either getting a yellow because if we had to go to Everton without either or both of them we'd get a tonking.
-
we won't sell Ramirez in January, loan out is about the only option there.
-
not really but when we score first you get all euphoric like. Fonte obviously has some sort of ongoing problem and Yoshida as I said before is probably on his way out very soon. Perhaps the medical staff are having too much say in team selection.
-
no, the substitutions didn't cost us anything. The goalkeeper should have been subbed before the game started that's all.
-
I think you may find that Yoshida is on his way out. He wants to play and that's not going to happen, don't think MPo rates him. He got a chance against Villa and was woeful.
-
A couple more defeats and he won't even be considered for the Saints job, NC will axe him if we don't win any of our next 3.
-
Let him learn elsewhere, he is a disgustingly poor keeper who's sent our season into a tail-spin singledhandedly.
-
the same that had Boruc forced upon him contrary to his will.
