  1. the one with the NUFC tattoo looks like Andy Carroll
  2. Our U18s could probably beat Pompey's first team actually, Pompey are a non-entity who should have ceased to exist long before now. It is absolute ridiculous that an erstwhile PL status obtained with money that they never had has guaranteed their continuing existence to build up more debt and rip more people off. Courts should have been firm with them, taken the PPs and paid back more to former creditors with them. A travesty of justice.
  3. It's Sochaux, any player who wins a tackle or has a shot on goal is as likely as not to win player of the month there. A truly awful outfit, no money, no players, no idea. Mayuka would get better experience in the NPC but that would cause work permt problems I think. That's the trouble with these lads with work permits, you can't loan them out in the UK without getting a new permit for the loan (unless the rules have been modified of late).
  4. I don't know if the height-weight statistics that you get on various stat sites are correct but if they are then Victor at 1m88 for 76 kgs must have a pretty fragile bone structure because he looks pretty solid so his bones must be relatively light.
  5. Nah, not really, just the village idiot. If Bearsy took a girl's knickers off it would be to make a catapult with the elastic.
  6. Difficult to say on the tackles/fouls ratio for Victor and Jack simply because Jack has played so little this season. However on the only stats available Jack commits a foul for every 5 tackles and Victor has a ratio of 1 for 2. Must admit that Jack looked pretty deft in his interventions against Citeh but that could well change when he's up against the stereotype bruisers that they have in midfield at Stoke, West Brom and West Ham. The Victor/Morgan partnership does sometimes look a little less fluid than the one we had last year but it got some good results all the same..
  7. Yes, I watched the game, we looked a bit iffy in the first half though, don't think we achieved positive yards for about the first 20 minutes.
  8. not bad from 3 away and 1 home then
  9. Bournemouth Saint worked for Barclays, probably in Poole..or as far as I remember he did anyway. Think he actually turned up in Dubai once whilst on some mission or other for them. So if he is now the obviously out of work Robbie Box type now inhabiting Glasgow he must have suffered some great downturn in fortune I suppose.
  10. haven't studied their apparent demise much but it would seem to me that one of their principal problems is that Van Persie is playing less and scoring less. Must have won quite a few matches last season with Van Persie goals late on in games. Same problem for Spurs I think, Baled (??) out late on a few times.
  11. probably get a wild card and come up against the Iggles in the first round of the play offs.
  12. what even Artur ? That's good news then.
  13. In fact with his 67.9% pass success rate only Boruc of our entire squad is a worse passer than Lambert. Morgan is the best passer closely followed by JWP, most of the others are above 80%.
  14. He really isn't, he might have been in the past but this season he's a total liabilty more often than not. Look at last Wednesday, we had nothing at the sharp end and MPo was obliged to make a desperation substitution after about half an hour. Once we get past this Lambert is God crap we'll be a lot better off.
  15. But surely JWP must take a mean penalty? Should be able to with his dead ball ability. JRod has scored all of the penalties he's taken for us I believe although that's probably limited to a couple in the League Cup last season. I really don't think finding another pernalty taker amongst our players is going to cause a problem.
  16. you need to be far more mobile than Lambert to play "number 10", you also need a technical ability way beyond Lambert's, you just have to admit that players get older and less effective and put them out to grass gently.
  17. He's certainly handy to have at opponents corners though but JRod seems to do far more than his share of pressing opponents back 5s. It eventually knackers him for the attacking side of his game.
  18. Lambert has definitely slowed down of late, perhaps the International games were a bit too much for him and he needs a break but he best days seem to be behind him. If we got a realistic offer for him in January I think we should seriously consider it and go for someone a bit more mobile. In the meantime we should allow the JRod-Osvaldo partnership to develop at every chance.
  19. which the stats would tend to show; Osvaldo 3 goals from 8 starts and 4 sub appearances, Lambert 4 from 12 and 3, but if Osvaldo took the penalties who could say he wouldn't be on 5 goals (well hypothetically, don't think he was even here for the West Brom game).
  20. it's Portsmouth, what can you expect. A motley amateurish bunch from top to tail.
  21. A stress facture is caused by err repetitive stress, a hairline fracture is caused by an impact. Wanyama collided with Guzan and chipped a bone in his leg well according to the press anyway.
  22. not sure it's a stress facture at all, it's a hairline fracture resulting from a collision from what I've read. Don't forget that Victor has committed the most fouls in the PL.
  23. I think Lambert has really fallen away this season, bit like Holt at Norwich last season. He always looks so slow and ponderous, always looking to slow the game down to his pace, don't think he was doing that last season.
  24. all professional footballers can shoot, they wouldn't be pros if they couldn't. Doing it in the heat of the action takes some time to get right on a regular basis. Most of our players have a problem with accurate shooting in the nanoseconds available to them, it's what makes Suarez an 80 million £ player and Lallana not. If Lallana could finish like Suarez as well as his other attributes he'd be a "Ballon D'Or" winner.
  25. 50p for Gazza and 2.771999.50 £ for taking Forecast off our hands.
