Thing with the Europa League is that you can probably go to Krasnodar (wherever that might be) with your bis 11 and actually get a result, can't do that at Sunderland or Hull. Still think if we'd played Gazzaniga we had a better chance of a result.

because they didn't. Sociedad bid somewhere around 16 million euros but he didn't fancy it, neither did Nicola so it was turned down illico. Arsenal did not bid, they just made enquiries as to the asking price but as they were going to blow 50 million on Ozil and still had hopes of Suarez they couldn't muster anywhere near the Swans required, took Flamini on a freebee.

Everton v Saints - Kick off moved to 1:30pm on Sunday 29th December

At a guess I'd say it's all about teams with 2 away games not playing away on Thursday and again on Saturday. Saints are away twice as are Arsenal,Liverpool and Stoke and now all are away on the Sunday and not 2 on Sunday and 2 on Saturday. so for the players and supporters there's a 2 full day break between the games to allow for deplacements. -
Cork looked pretty ordinary last night, lack of games perhaps but I suspect that playing with a better partner made him look better than he actually is.
-
They had some pretty iffy results in November January and February though, coped pretty well in December, then again they only had 5 league games. They entered the EL after being eliminated from the CL pretty dismally.
-
Well yes, we want to finish top 4, everybody knows that, winning the League Cup...not so much, brings too many games in too short a space of time.
-
Odds were ridiculous given the team that we were going to play. Anyone who got the 27/10 that someone said that they were quoting as late as Monday or Tuesday must be laughing today. We were never ever going to win that game, not with our rentajoke keeper. Anyway we already have 7 games in December, certainly didn't need another one given that most of our players are now internationals and that they have up to 6 fixtures in November as well. Chelsea now have 9 games in 29 days in December,10 in 32 if you count our game with them on New Year's Day, could crack ? that would be really handy.
-
Did both, don't know about the results though. If I recall correctly the Southampton GSR was very fast, think I ran about 54 minutes myself, Pompey in 91 was windy as per usual, ran about 55'30"

roughly that yes but inverted.

I just cannot seee exactly why we persist with him, surely it would be better to use Gazzaniga as second keeper for want of anything better.
-
didn't think Fox was too bad, not good but not too bad. The problem is that with a keeper who does not control at least his 6 yard box lumps of crap like Altidore and anyone capable of supplying him suddenly become dangerous players.
-
Morgan should have been selected instead of Mavuba at least, then again Deschamps just does not know what he's doing, unless of course the "quota" system that was uncovered in the dark basements of the FFF with reference to the U21s is secretly applied to the full national side.
-
I am particularly pleased for JRod, thought he struggled with us at first (but then again that might have been some sort of Adkins effect) but now I see him as one of our brightest prospects.
-
dear oh dear, 13 pages of animated discussion and to what avail. I told you all days ago that with a ****e keeper like Davis we could not possibly win, the other 10 lads knew that and were probably instantly demoralised. I shudder to think what would happen if Boruc got injured at any time soon.
-
sparse crowd by the looks of it.
-
both of whom looked distinctly average against Cardiff. If a were a wagering man I might even dob a couple of bob on Swansea to be relegated this season, bubble has burst, whether that's because of the Europa league fixtures I just couldn't say.
-
Anyone giving odds of 27/10 on Sunderland to win playing against a Saints side with KD in goal must be a raging nutter.
-
Lee will start, the only difference from the team against Bristol City is that someone will have to replace the injured Guly. Lallana,Clyne and JRod will be on the bench as likely as not
-
Their side isn't that bad except that they have a few knobs who always drag the game down to their level. Di Canio banished most of them but they've all crept back in since he's been gone.
-
Poch was talking about Astori actually, said we weren't looking at him or any other centre backs.

JJ = Jilted John, same style, better quality. For the very young. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTKORcr1jhY -
don't quite know what's happened to the Texans this season. Last year they looked a good team and Schaub was on fire, now I think he's benched and everything has gone tits up.
