  1. Well I thought I was pointing out how well we've done since the end of the T20 in winning 3 out of our 4 matches and being in a good position barring some extraordinary event or other.
  2. As someone pointed out earlier, when you have really fast bowlers on a pitch that's not entirely dead, you're likely to see a few wickets fall when batsmen insist on trying their slogfest shots at inopportune moments..The old clan like Trescothick and Adams, who know what 4 day batting is about, seemed to manage fairly well.
  3. Well yes, if they start handing out deductions for good bowling and shîte batting there's always a chance I suppose. As I said earlier Hants and Somerset both have recent previous of awful batting, chasing wild balls down the leg side, reckless driving and offering no shot to good balls.
  4. So, got there in the end without too much wobbling and picked up another 16 points. Probably enough to see us staying up unless we go the other 2 games without getting 10 points and even then it would need some freakish results to send us down..
  5. You have to give young players a chance apparently but the least they can do is not play stupid shots time after time. Oh and that means you Vince as well. Absolute nut case on occasions, always driving whether it's wise or not. We could lose this.
  6. Close 14/1: Soames idiotically chasing one down the leg side.
  7. Well I hope they hide those when were batting for 60 odd to win later on then. Somerset had the ball changed a couple of times when they were bowling yesterday, first time after only 10 overs or so if I recall correctly.
  8. You're probably right. Hants batting badly is nothing exceptional this season and Somerset failed to make 78 last week to beat Lancs. Plus they've got finals day for the T20 on Saturday and have nothing really to play for in the Championship, well unless you count 2nd place that is and they'll probably get that anyway..
  9. Well I've been listening in on Solent from time to time and from the commetators views I'd surmise that there's life in the pitch and some awful shots to boot. Green out without scoring already, bad,bad shot apparently.
  10. Why a points deduction? Pitches seem to favouring bowlers just about everywhere.. Anyway, Hants halfway there already, Northeast and Adams having stabiliised the innings. Effects of the heavy roller starting to show up perhaps.
  11. Soames gone in the 2nd over without troubling the scorers. We really, really need to sign some openers for next season because what we have is just beyond a joke. One of them seems always to be out for less than 10.
  12. Well as they only made 106 after putting themselves in, about 20 would be par for the course for Hants. Then again we might make 400.
  13. Somerset 71/5 at lunch. Mustn't get too excited though, they'll probably top 250 and we'll make about 35.
  14. 30 more points from the remaining games should do it, perhaps less will do. the last round of games with Hants-Lancs and Worcs- Yorks will decide it. Looks bad for Worcs and Lancs though.
  15. I presumed that was because we'd set ultra aggressive fields trying to finish them off in the day.
  16. Abbott hat-trick. At 72/8 Worcs are done.
  17. Hants all out 176 leaving Worcs 248 to win.
  18. Drat. Somerset and Lancs tied giving Lancs 8 points. Truely dismal from Somerset.
  19. Good knock.. A latter day Sainsbury or Jesty rescue jobby.
  20. I saw some photies of some batch of "migrants" the other day. Most of them had more expensive looking smart phones than me actually.
  21. Meanwhile back at stately Worcester, Alsop and Dawson seem to be getting into tonking mode. Hope that doesn't mean the wicket is improving then.
  22. And it's looking increasingly possible that Somerset fail to make 78 to beat Lancs today.
  23. September pitch innit..
  24. 22 in the end. If Somerset can push home their advantage with Lanc already at 7/2 then it would look like Lancs are a goner having played one more game than the other sides.
  25. And yet despite Hollande and Fabius being the driving force behind the Paris agreement the French are already way way over the limit for CO2 etc this year and it's only September. It's OK driving through an agreement but telling people to not buy gas guzzling SUVs is something completely different. There are about 80 car owners in my village, at least half of them own Dacia Dustbins.
