  1. Ball player but not at all bad in the air.
  2. No target over 350 is the subject of a good decision. We need changes throughout the set up. Starting with Adams and whoever calls himself Director of Cricket these days. Recruitment is rubbish and coaching seems to be in the same vein. The first priority after last season's Championship campaign was bowlers, bowlers, bowlers but we didn't get any.
  3. He's a good CB but he's also versatile. Can play at "lateral" means full back I suppose and as a DM. Has made a few untimely errors this season but that could well be down to his situation at Lyon. They went through a rough spell and Aulas doesn't hesitate to criticise individual players in the press or on TV. Plus Garde is about a quarter of the coach that Puel was and his iffy performance is of course the players fault. Lovren was signed by Claude Puel who is very rarely wrong about players but he was unceremoniosly sacked by Aulas for no reason whatsover and replaced by Remi Garde his assistant or youth team coach or something. Puel cost Aulas far too much because of continual CL bonuses and he just sacked him. Garde started alternating Lovren with the veteran Brazilian Cris (an Aulas favourite) and the youngster Umtiti and that didn't obviously go down at all well.
  4. didn't get on with the coach at Lyon, then again there are always frasques between coaches and players at Lyon .Also frasques between the chairman and coaches, chairman and players, chairman and local politicians over their new stadium, in fact the chairman is a bit of a knob.
  5. Free transfer from Lyon, something that just doesn't exist. Aulas rarely lets his players who have any sort of residual value be out of contract, always sells them off with a year or two left on their contracts. As a rule Aulas sells to the highest bidder as well, players rarely get much say in where they end up.
  6. waste of paper anyway
  7. that's the trouble with gainful employment, keeps you out of the transfer circuit for hours on end.
  8. Right seen a Spanish report on the subject. Offers from Betis,Sociadad and Olympiakos, went to the greek shower because they're in the Champions league. SFC not mentioned as a potential suitor whatsoever.
  9. None in fact, I can always spot a potential flop . Nearest would be Anders Svennsson but he wasn't really a flop, just that WGS didn't like his style of play. Then again there was always Charlie George.
  10. New name (well to me anyway, sorry if it's already been discussed to death) Ever Banega, apparently we've offered 10 million for him (don't know what currency) euros I guess
  11. don't know, he wanted a long contract for a lot of money. Not at all sure we would have been prepared to give him both, one or the other perhaps but not both.
  12. Well he probably didn't make the decision all by himself, whole shower is just a shambles with odd decent batting performances. Given the erratic nature of our openers performances this season it was just a stupid, stupid decision. We can't bowl sides out so we'll be in D2 next season as well, unless we can get relegated to minor counties or something for being absolutely abysmal with the ball.
  13. WTF is our captain a madman
  14. his late Mum and my late Gran were sisters. So I think he's more of a cousin than an Uncle actually
  15. Not really July 1st is still over 2 weeks away, nearly 3. We won't be signing many players and some of those that we will are on intenationall service. Let the Villas and Hulls go for might bes and maybes. We have targets, they won't be cheap and they won't be queuing up at St Mary's to sign, so really no big deal. Have Arsenal signed anyone or Everton or Swansea...no because their targets are hard to get as well.
  16. I see we've got a new bowler then,Tanvir Sohail, at least he's managed a couple of wicket today but we're still getting tidily spanked after putting Gloucs in.Day lost to rain again...draw would be a good result.
  17. No doubt keeps their fans happy, wait until they start selling.
  18. Milan? Pocket on shirt, must be for either a couple of folded notes for the ref or for their smartphones in case their agent can get them a bigger money transfer in the middle of a game, could be for calls from "Ruby" though.
  19. Well not so many would remember a 1960's Brazilian tennis player now would they, especially in connection with a Uruguayan footballer. Then again I have an uncle who played left back for Chile in the 1962 world cup so nothing is impossible.
  20. didn't he actually get sacked by some Turkish side after one or two games for some outlandish behaviour ?
  21. I see Biglia has signed at Lazio then, only 5.5 million € but with his history of late they're lucky to get that much.
  22. might as well pay 15 million for 2 Blue Square league players.
  23. wouldn't even be in the top half of a right backs poll...he's promising but not that good as of yet.
  24. Still it's looking up, used to be S****horpe players...
  25. probably confusion with the young lad for the academy...
