  1. So according to various purveyors of sporting information Mourinho doesn't want: Luiz,Terry,Lampard,Ba,Mata orTorres. He wants to recover De Bruyne and Lukaku but Courtois can stay put where he is. Going to be a roller coaster at CFC again this season.
  2. but we have this penchant for leaving our best players out for whatever reason . Not totally au-fait with the Euro U21 rules but I've got this notion that players who were under 21 when qualifying started are eligible. That means some of the 'big' names amongst the younger players, maybe even Walcott,Sturridge even Jack Cork etc but we don't give priority to the tournament. Then there are the problem players like Townsend who cast themselves aside because they can't stop drinking or gambling or whatever it is.
  3. apparently he's open to offers for everybody, likes buying new players all of the time so he has to ship out some of the old ones. Not very popular with some Spaniards apparently, Iniesta thinks he's a knob so may be Mata is of that opinion as well.
  4. Tuttomercato are linking us with Raul Baena from Espanyol today, would be a free transfer, DM but I'd doubt if he'll trouble Morgan or Corky for a starting spot.
  5. The lad's dad Gustavo Bueno is a coach at Nacional, youth team or something. It's possible that the player was a minor at the time of the contract extension (or maybe still is,don't know much about Uruguayan politics) and the father signed the contract for a fee of a million dollars and is now looking for a percentage of the transfer fee.
  6. That far I understood, then it starts talking about the players father and 1 million dollars release clause. So putting 2 & 2 together to make 7 I kinda guess there's agents cut involved again.Says the player wants to play in Italy but there isn't the money available to buy him from Italy.Wife speaks Spanish, I'll ask her but she'll probably say that it's Spanish from the middle ages that they speak in the "colonies"
  7. Van Goebel, but he would fall outside of the date parameters anyway. Signed in 97 which is out of the 15 year range...just
  8. so we still haven't got shot of Forte ? who signed him ? A very charitable act methinks.
  9. Probably not the same players in the main.
  10. More than likely, the tardive rounds of WC qualifying and the Confederations Cup coupled with the manager merry go round are probably not helping us to sign our targets quickly. Still Monk did say that the "signing" wouldn't be announced until next week.
  11. Nowhere much, think he's back in Tunisia, went to Cologne, didn't do much, had one game for Ajaccio (Corsica) and then nothing. Think he has some sort of problem or other.Ah yes couldn't get on with the coach/manager and was afraid of the violence in Corsica. Nicola probably did one of the best things he's ever done in pulling the plug on Jemal. I do wonder if he doesn't run some sort of deep background checks or psychological tests on prospective players and that's why we pull the plug when everything seems to be finalised.
  12. Lowton ? Would he have been available ? You'd need 2 Clynes to make a Lowton in my opinion.
  13. At what level might I ask ? The best Southern league coach might not be the best international coach.
  14. Any management team with Wigley in it is heading for disaster , bloke is an absolute nonce but hey England's a jobs for the boys society isn't it. The FA reminds me of Evelyn Waugh's Sword of Honour trilogy.
  15. Anyway it was just speculation on Glasgow's part when faced with the reality that a bloke who's playing in Prague on Friday evening and off to Brazil on Sunday could only in theory sign for Saints on Saturday. He was just being petulant as per usual.
  16. but only 17 PL games, only 6 since January, games against Moldovian minnows count for little, once Dawson came back Caulker was pushed aside..
  17. a trouncing by a European minnow then, thing is their players actually play football and anyone eligible for the U23 tournament plays in it, even if they've got a shedload of full caps to their name. AOC should be available for this tournament, probably Cleverley and Jones as well but we do not daign to play them, probably because their clubs don't want them to.
  18. Wickham exemplifies all that is wrong with English football, Sunderland paid 10 million £ for a load of garbage just because he scored a few goals for Ipswich. An instant star with no craft or guile behind him.
  19. fortunately Ervine broke up that 5th wicket stand or we would have lost to be sure. The problem is unresolvable, we can't take wickets unless the opposition are forcing the pace, we are a one day side.
  20. what do you expect he doesn't play very often, looked a good player when he was at Swansea playing nearly every week but as Spurs only wheel him out on high days and holidays now it's no wonder he doesn't look to be progressing. The FA/PL just have to stop this practise of buying players to keep them off of the market.
  21. left handers orientate themselves better in space because they use both halves of the brain, everyone knows that. Think Morgan is left handed but uses his right foot more often...but that's basic french coaching for you.
  22. just goes to proove that PL reserves are worth diddly squat. At least we have no players involved in this potential debacle.
  23. with that super judge of a GK Adkins I could well believe it.
  24. tbh I'd forgotten all about him. Doh
  25. he's a crap keeper.
