  1. as if agent bollix stopped at Dover and Berwick upon Tweed. Agent Bollix fuels the transfer market, it creates demand for less than average players by suggesting that Europe's top clubs are desirous of them.
  2. Astori ? Doubt it, either he or his club held out for too much for too long. Filed under 'not happening'
  3. Like Messi you mean ? Players used to farm out image rights to fiscal paradises and make themselves into companies and the like to reduce tax but it was outlawed in the UK sometime back I believe. the basis of the "scam" was that a player received a loan from his club as a limited company and not full salary. Instead of 50% or so income tax his "company" paid just corporation tax at 28% or similar. Think it was outlawed but it may well be still in use.
  4. Then again there are agents and agents. Unfortunately some are greedier than others. An agent who's used to arranging big moves all of the time probably asks for (relatively) less than one who just has a couple of bit part players on his books. Check it all for yourself. Wanyama uses an agency called Extratime, based in South Africa I believe.
  5. think he must have another couple of months, depends whether he actually participated in a Drink Driving Awareness course though. Got a year, reduced to 9 months if he took the course. Lee must have a good old while left as well.
  6. This year's winner will be Aicar or GW1516. Watch out for weight loss and increased muscle mass, dead give away.
  7. perhaps it's one of our banned from driving players sorting his next loan out with Mauricio. How many do we actually have now ?
  8. so that's a no to the question about Ross County then. Went there last year cos I had to hang about up that way for a few days...terrrrrrrrrrible. NB the jury is still out on Lallana I believe.
  9. because Morgan is in the Prem, a real league full of class players. Wanyama plays for Celtic against St Mirren and ICT. Do you actually go to football in Scotland Glasgie, apart from Old Firm games I mean. Have you ever watched Ross County? It's the Clump Inn FC with better kit.
  10. all well and good but knowing Nicola as I don't I wouldn't doubt that Cardiff have bid more than us. 12 million £ is just a pie in the sky figure made up by agents or journalist or Celtic or all of them put together . Bet we bid about 6 or 7 million including add ons.
  11. it's not just 12 million though; When Pienaar (same agent) went from Everton to Spurs he was asking 70K a week so the deal broke down, he then cut his ambitions a bit but wound up at about 55 or so. He didn't make it really and was pushed back to Everton eventually after a loan period to the same club. No doubt Wanyama despite his young age and relative inexperience of top flight football is asking for a similar sum and if we get saddled with him and then find out he isn't the bee's after all we're in for a long old 4 years or so. Fortunately I have faith in Nicola not to give in to exhorbitant demands so it might not be a problem in the offing. All over Europe clubs are finding that once you're saddled with a player on a big contract you are absolute fooked if he doesn't perform.
  12. The US got a 1-1 draw against France just now so things are looking up for them after their initial shambles. A point of interest here, Pogba is supposed to be the best thing since err Patrick Viera but today's game proved just how ordinary he is. So there you have 2 points, Morgan must be absolutely hacked off that the lad is picked in front of him for the Full France side just because he plays for Juventus reserves more often than not and that all that glitters is not gold.
  13. Seems his agent is doing all the rejecting and accepting anyway. It's a bloody 2 horse stable to all intents and purposes, Wanyama and Pienaar, agent has to score big cos he ain't got much to haggle over.
  14. Wait a minute, didn't Utd lose at home against Cluj in the CL last season, perhaps Cluj have someone we could throw 20 million at. The yardstick is Scottish domestic football, it's too weak to be able to judge any player on. Let Stoke have the bugger cos 12 million is too much..
  15. the fee is too high to take a chance on a player who won't make a top 5 side
  16. He gets a lot of yellows which given the standard of the opposition is unquieting; 10 yellows and a red in domestic football last season I think.
  17. it's too much, wouldn't mind the player, don't like the fee being bandied about but it could be 6 million in all reality. I am also slightly concerned that this will be trumpeted by the club as a major coup look we've signed Victor for 10 million, great huh, oh by the way we've sold Morgan to the arse for 15 million.... still Victor is sh*t hot right, beat Barca reserves all by himself.
  18. yes but I don't think these details have ever come to light before, maybe i just missed it, don't read the forum 24/7 or track back through threads, read last to first so could have missed it.
  19. I will say just on thing here Marc Bartra, a nonsensical player at CB which is why he has played about 10 games since he's been at Barca. Woeful against Bayern in the CL semi this year, which is why they prefer to use a DM (Mascherano) at CB instead of him.
  20. no I just read various press speculation, nothing confirms to me that we have offered Celtic 12 million £, it goes up by the hour. to me it's just agent bollix with some sort of factual base. Look at Pienaar's transfer to spurs, you'll get the lie of the land from that.
  21. I don't know that at all, who says the real hard core transfer fee is 12 million ? Anyway it wasn't Barca's full side out Song started, so did Bartra and they are not Barca's first choice players. We need to be careful what yardstick we use here.
  22. Well personally I'd rather we spent our money elsewhere and let someone else discover the limitations of Wanyama. 12 million is far too much but as Nicola won't pay that anyway perhaps it's not all that important.
  23. Up Jack's and round the corner I expect.
  24. perhaps he works for Lord Copper
  25. Is this a revelation I see before me ? Did we know about this or was there a cover up.
