10 goals in 40(ish) Championship games would tend to suggest that you are wrong. Sharp is limit good enough for the Championship, it takes a different skill set to be a successful striker in the PL.

there will be many cases of delusion brought about by the absence of football, yes.

So then that logo would fit well onto an "Air Florida" type shirt. To your paintshops please gents.

Adrian Newey was at Southampton Uni I think, at the same time as my youngest brother.

potentially misleading

once again I think that many posters just do not realise just how good you have to be to play in the PL these days. Many PL players of 4 or 5 years back would struggle to get into the better championship sides in our day and age. Surman for instance, Wolves were in the PL when they signed him I think but he just didn't make the grade despite many opportunities at both Wolves and Norwich. Good player but just not up to the PL in 2012/13

Monaco is a case apart, the owner knows nothing about football and has recruited an agent to do his recruiting. Some Portuguese oufit I think; They'e probably got 200 million to spend and they're not wasting it on has beens or might be's. Hardly any tax in Monaco for foreign residents so their salarial mass will be far less than that of other European clubs. So they can buy Falcao for 51 million and pay him 10 million a year for 3 years and it will cost them 81 million in total. If he went to PSG the same salary would cost them nigh on double or more because he'd want that as net income and the club would get saddled with the outrageous tax and social charges payable on that sum. 81 million from Monaco is probably equivalent to about 50 million elsewhere because the governments have to have their share .

but there you're talking about a real bowler, one who could even get wickets on a feather bed pitch and if the batsmen were batting with barn doors. Our current side has no real bowlers, put all our faith into Briggs and now he just gets hammered about by tail enders.

who knows, Holloway has prem experience and Blackpool did make a good start in their season in the top flight.
-
Chelsea might rate him but as the first team manager is usually from outside our isles he might very well not. Mourinho will flood the side with his own men again.

Gibbs, Ramsey, Clichy(ok sold to Citeh but Fabregas is gone as well) ?
-
and yet he doesn't compare Billy's total with Lallana who in fact scored 2 less goals than Gaston and 2 less than a defensive midfielder. 3 goals from 30 games and 4 appearances as a sub is rubbish for an attacking player.

No national team selector from a major football nation will ever be different. They will always be biased towards big clubs playing in the Champion's League.
-
It's not just Hodgson though, they're all the same roughly. National team selectors tend to put their trust in players from clubs with an international reputation. It's not just the player himself, it's about coaching systems and fitting in with other players from "big clubs". Look at the latest Spain squad, 1 from Betis ,1 from Seville, Reina and all the rest are from CL sides,Real,Barca,Chelsea,Arsenal,Bayern.Citeh

don't care, two equivalent piles of sh*t.

I might watch some of the Rome derby, who am I supposed to be looking out for ? As for Celtic-Hibs err no thanks.
-
don't think we'll get promoted this season, our bowling is really too poor to dismiss sides twice. One day success is probably though because we're basically a one day side.

are alcoholic drinks sponsors permitted nowadays ?

38 ahead on the first innings actually. For 4 day cricket I shall be more confident once McKenzie gets here, can't be too long now.

not according to L'Equipe (who might just know) 25 million € for Moutihno and 45 million € for Rodriguez. And from Porto themselves http://www.fcporto.pt/English/News/news_eng_futjamesmoutinhomonaco_240513_75604.asp good rumour though, nearly as good as KD in Sainsbury's

doubt it, Evian belongs to Danone so they'd just as well go the whole hog and promote their full range.

you've obviously seen the piece by Desailly telling Gareth Bale to leave a tinpot club like Spurs and get a real team. These France 1998 players have ego problems, if you're not playing in the Champions League or somewhere where one of their mates is coach you are less than nothing.
