  1. not if you don't care about football it wouldn't.
  2. transformed into equity which isn't the same as writing off of course. Equity is a saleable asset but if you have cash flow problems(not suggesting that of course) then it can be a bit of a pain unless you can sell it on..
  3. something which I personally question anyway. Nothing I've seen has ever convinced me that the late Markus was in fact a billionaire in any currency apart from Nigerian Nagwes or Russian Roubles. Certainly had a handy spot of the old folding though.
  4. could be a legacy for all we know; this is the whole point. The late Markus obviously made provision for Saints but we could now be at the end of that provision and the future is somewhat uncertain.
  5. especially as they don't do cranes but I'm guessing Vectis knows that. Cranes; plant equipment; fridges; freezers = bags of money that you can actually sort of verify Saints; common rail technology etc = not so evident because it's unverifiable.
  6. so someone somewhere just wants to cash in on everything as soon as is respectably possible would you say ? Certainly not carry on the investment as foreseen. Why move the headquarters from Fribourg canton to Zurich canton, what's that about then ?
  7. it's not the same scenario is it though. One would be the project interupted but not necessarily put into question because of an accident; the other would be the project voluntarily destroyed.
  8. Perhaps there's no investment to be had; just a sale to be arranged as best as possible. It's too odd to be true. Can't see that Cortese isn't amongst the administrators of the Trust (whatever that may be) so nothing is as it seems. Not something that he'd do is putting it about that there is a rift in the lute so there's a hidden strategy somewhere. perhaps one of our finance wizards with ins in the sort of place you can get that info could tell us exactly why the QG of Mali International Holdings was transferred from Fribourg canton to Zurich canton in January of this year.
  9. so why is their website just a page of contact details then and above all why is it being run by an exiled Italian banker and not someone from the family who were ousted from control (or left voluntarily) quite a while ago. There a re 2 signatories to Mali's accounts; Cortese and a Swiss lawyer. Not a trust but 2 men.
  10. but Cortese runs everything that Markus left behind, that's the whole point. If there were great family intimacy then someone from the vastly successful and wealthy "crane" branch (and there are plenty of young winners in that lot) would be in charge of Mali and not an exiled Italian banker and what seemst be a Zurich lawyer..........Whole scenario makes no sense. Especially when you notice that the website of Mali International AG is just a page of contact details and absolutely nothing else.
  11. well lets see some evidence then. All I can find indicates that the other branch of the family is amongst the richest in Switzerland but the sums shown are always global and never detailed. I really think there is great confusion in this matter. This article lauds the wealth of the "crane" branch but little else. http://www.laliberte.ch/economie/la-famille-liebherr-est-la-plus-riche-du-canton-de-fribourg
  12. doubt it; never seen anything concrete to convince me that there isn't the same general confusion as there is most of the time. Anyone ever seen any Mali International accounts ?
  13. they aren't "old mates" MP was an exceptionally fine footballer who made a lot of friends everywhere he went. We loved him on the terraces at PSG. Gives 100 percent all of the time.
  14. he doesn't want to leave but he wants to progress. If we're not progressing he may change his mind. He's already said that if a top 4 club came in for him and the deal was right for both himself and the club then he would ask for it to be considered.... Basically he's got a top 4 and right price buy out clause in that new contract of his.Feel free to speculate on the amount.........
  15. Anyway the Liebherrs (or this particular branch) aren't massive at all. Cortese runs everything for them (well business wise anyway) If he goes everything will be restructured. Doubt if they're even particularly rich; otherwise everything would not be entrusted to one Italian banker who lives in Chilworth. It's a strange and messy situation.
  16. but they are; can't see what you're on about.
  17. the sticky point is just how much they're willing to pay (or underwrite) for it. for me it's pretty clear; no-one wants NC to leave but he what he wants is what he wants and he's not willing to make too many concessions on his modus operandii. He wants to buy some players that he thinks will improve our chances of achieving his aims (which no doubt he believes is what his late friend wanted) but we don't have the reddies to do that so he wants it underwritten by the Trust who don't seem to be on the same wavelength.
  18. indeed; when you look at the post match gallery on the OS you see loads of fouls that the ref just doesn't sanction; Rickie seems to be on the receiving end of a lot of them. Mind you we're perpetrating a few of them as well; not on Rickie though.
  19. is he any better than say Gaston or Rodwell or Andy Carroll ? Statistically he's one of the top 20 players in the UK; better than Mata or Tevez so who knows what he's worth really. If he really has the ability to raise his game to each level that's needed then he's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
  20. he works for the "project sportif" that Cortese sold to him not for a few results. For many involved in football the future is often as important as the present. Ancelotti is considering his future at PSG because he says the project is more important than this season's results.
  21. don't know much about them really but I saw Sampdoria a while back when I was in Genoa and they weren't anything exceptional; bit like Stoke or Aston Villa.
  22. probably not even as good as Swansea; Italian league is a bit so so after the top few.
  23. don't think Morgan's dad is set on him leaving for a "big club" though. Still reckon Top 4 UK or nothing myself. Depends on how much he wants to play for France at any time in the near future. Doesn't look like he'll get called up for the summer tour; Deschamps will be relying on his binkies again
  24. Middle dictates the end though. We needed a good middle to rectify the start but it obviously took a lot out of the players and apart from that I guess they knew they'd done the job that needed to be done.....38 points and a respectable GD was always my target and might have well been their minimum contract as well. Thankfully we had Mauricio to get us points against some of the better sides.
