Adkins suicidal substitutions once again cost us!
Window Cleaner replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Lallana isn't all that great when it comes to holding on to the ball, I don't think his passing success rate is all that great either. -
Fergie was just a game away from "retirement" only a couple of years back, can't remember which season it was but they had a really rough patch.

How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed?
Window Cleaner replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
The trouble is that we probably have 12 or 13 players who can say that they are somewhere around PL standard. When they aren't available or have to be subbed then what replaces them aren't up to the job. The manager's hands are tied by the quality of the players he has available to him. On Sunday without Cork(and we don't yet know how he's going to shape up in the PL) ,Clyne and Ramirez we were down to the bare bones. We have a nominal group of 24 I think, including 3 keepers, when you take out the dross who won't get a PL start at any time soon and the injured there's just nothing left. In my humble opinion we counted on the young players coming through the system to supplement the group but up until now we've only seen JWP in PL action and I personnally don't think he's anywhere near the required level yet. I keep hearing talk of Stephens,Shaw and a host of other young hopefuls...I'm still waiting to see one of these marvels on the pitch in the PL. Once again just my opinion but tha academy products have lured us into a false recruitment. -
Give it up Harry, you ain't getting the job :D:D

Now I would affirm that we have "lost" 11 points due to our suicidal summer recruitment policy. Buying go faster stripes instead of new brake pads. -
I see on whoscored.com that they think that AL's only weakness is his lack of ability to hold on to the ball. As for De ridder those that think that he'll get any game time this season barring a major outbreak of berri-berri or green monkey disease in our ranks are seriously deluded.

Indeed that defensive reshuffle really caused us problems. Jose and Yosh is a decent pairing, for all his tweeting and cardboard box on the head organising Jos is in fact a woefully bad defender at this level. If we'd had another solution at hand to have replaced Frazer at RB and left the middle 2 as it was we'd have probably got an easyish win. Jos is far, far too clumsy to be decent at this level and too slow in his reactions as well.

Went off injured at the end of last week's game though, and as Saints operate a mushroom system on information about injuries it wasn't really a surprise.
-
Someone last week was saying that Morgan would be out for a good while with medial ligament problems, he was there on Saturday though. Thing is people make crap up and attribute it to "a good source within the club". Unless the player tweets info himself à la Jack Cork we won't ever know.
-
Why would we do that then? What needs sacking is the idiot who organised our summer recruitment and left us with 10 million strikers and advanced midfielders and not enough defenders. We know NA wanted central defenders because he said so, we got Ramirez instead.

Some Tweets Saying We Have Borrowed Against Future Season Ticket Sales

Like Saints have savings! Oh do behave. We've had to get a loan because the Swiss have cut off our air supply more likely than not. -

So? Their Vibrac loan of 13 million cost them 1.3 million in interest and charges, that's 10% in anyone's calculations. -
But does he know that ?

Especially as Vibrac don't seem to have a Mother Theresa like policy. According to Everton's board it costs 10% ish of the amount in interest and fees. -

Well hopefully so, Everton seem to be using this Vibrac outfit on a pretty constant basis, 14 million here, 13 there. Seems to cost them 10% of the loan amount every time. http://www.toffeetalk.com/index.php?/topic/23096-new-mortgage-taken-out-by-efc/page__st__40 -
so he has an easy 90 minute run out against San Marino and 30 against Poland, nothing like playing to get your fitness up. Woy is doing West Ham a favour, Carroll will probably fit enough get a hatrick against our lamentable CB pairing or he'll knock the ball down for Vaz Te. We should organise a friendly cos we're always crap after I Breaks.Something of the standard of San Marino, Pompey perhaps.,

This is going to be good, if I can borrow money against next year's income to avoid tax on this year's then BVI loan me up. Can only see one reason for getting a loan, the usual one, you want to spend more than you actually have available. -

Interesting yes, concerning not really, the Swiss were never going to fund us for ever and a day anyway. Just dispels the rumour that we're the 5th richest club in the Universe or whatever, we're PL minnows who'll do well to survive. -

Nowhere near it, we have spent a shedload on players since we rose from the ashes, at Coventry (h) 28/4/12 it was probably somewhere round about 20 million. -

But NC didn't buy the club, Markus did, he had money and seemingly met our every need for 3 years, it's very easy to talk about not contracting debt when your boss has it by the bucket load and is willing enough to dob it over whenever you ask. When there's no more funding from the well, you have to eat your words and go cap in hand to someone else who has dosh to lend. -

But the fact that the loan is secured on future revenues does tend to suggest that the Swiss have, for whatever reason, pulled the plug right? I mean up until now whatever we've needed has come from the owner and his estate, now NC is having to go directly contrary to his statement a couple of years back and borrow money against future revenues. -

remind me again, what are we supposed to have borrowed this money against, is it this year's ST sales and TV revenue or is it next year's as well ? The title says FUTURE SEASON TICKET SALES, the link Turks put up says future revenue and current assets I think. -

Wigan beat us at home though, they obviously identified us as one of the teams they needed to beat to stay up again. -

don't think we've spent 30 million anyway but as I've said before i don't think what we have spent so far has been particulary wisely spent. Fonte and Hooiveld were limit against good attacking sides in the NPC, that was the first move to make along with a top rate keeper to start the season. Why hang about until mid September to sign a free agent like Boruc.
