  1. Indeed, I think at one time Saints stopped insuring players because it was too expensive, that was in the Lowe second coming days though. Remembering how long it took us to get very little money for Howells (I think it was he) you have to weigh up the risk and the costy. Don't doubt Ramirez is well insured though. Think it costs about 500K or something like that, insurance cost was what stopped Beckham playing for Tottenham last year and held up the T Henry loan to Arsenal for a couple of weeks.
  2. I thought that Roy played for Melchester Rovers. He's on a million a week now though and is worth more than the entire Crown Jewels. FFS how many strikers are there that score 70 a season.
  3. Personally I think that rightly or wrongly he'll twist if we should lose again on Sunday. Just my opinion though.
  4. Little doubt about that, what is the point however is that the Swiss bags o money seem to be either temporarily or permanently unavailable and that the "no debt" principal seems to have gone out of the window.
  5. In that case there would be something about owner change on the Companies House fact sheet woudn't there?
  6. I think Morgan and Adam's contracts are up in 2014, JRod has it all to prove as yet but as you say Ramirez is on a 4 year deal which has only just started.
  7. Anyway "the estate" is surely settled by now, whatever there was to be passed on has no doubt been passed on and the taxes paid. Perhaps we had a fixed trust fund or something and we've temporarily run over what was available. Might explain why we didn't blow another 20 million on 2 centre backs and a left back though.
  8. I've never ever been able to confirm that, don't think anyone else has either. It's a speculative figure as far as I know. Anyone who has written evidence of that figure could post up a link to it. Markus was a private man and I very much doubt that this information would be in the public domain.
  9. Parachute payments and player sales, doubt if the loan that's being talked about runs into hundreds of millions. Probably more like 10 or 20 million which could be covered by selling a couple of players who'd probably want to leave anyway. Thing is though a couple of those would only have 1 year left on their contracts next June and we might not get as much as we might think.
  10. I believe that the loans from the owner were turned into equity last year or the year before. Up until the end of the June 2011 financial year we'd run up about 35 million of debt to the owner including the intial purchase (or so I think anyway). We probably tacked on another 15 million or so for our Championship season so the first 3 years losses were about 50 million part or all of which seem to have been covered by the owner and then the Estate.
  11. It's not a surprise at all, even with League 1 and NPC expenditure on players we've been running at a loss for the last 3 seasons so where everybody thought we'd got the 30 million we've spent since last May from I just don't know. I don't think the PL give you money in advance so you've got to find it from somewhere and I don't doubt that the Swiss funds dried up ages ago. I don't even think Markus was all that rich, the Liebherr wealth which is always referred to means the other members of that illustrious family, didn't Markus give all his shares in the main Liebherr holdings away long long ago? I remember getting royally slagged off on here last year for suggesting that we were running up debts and would continue to do so, right again then ?
  12. Think Road Sea are still in business though, might have merged with another freight forwarder methinks, GJ Cooper perhaps. Quite a few of the lads who made the entire journey from Sunday League to Southern League with RS actually worked for them, they did start signing a few ex-pros towards the end though. Think Paul Bennett played for them at the end of his career.
  13. If you believe those stats to be correct Lallana's crossing is absolutely diabolical.
  14. Can't see why it's so important anyway, it's a training ground in the middle of nowhere. As long as it serves it's purpose I don't see that it really matters whether we have a new tea hut or not. As for the academy.... forget it
  15. Trouble is that they will both play every match for which they are fit much to the detriment of the defensive sector. We have 2 playmakers and are missing a water carrier.
  16. Isn't someone on this board part of that set up, probably explains a lot really. Then again may be it's someone's brother, can't remember the details.
  17. Boruc is a good keeper, well in theory anyway. Don't doubt that he'll play on Sunday myself.
  18. I played for Road Sea a couple of times, towards the start of their ascendancy, went up like a bonfire night rocket and just sort of fizzled out at the top. I'd moved to Brussels by then so I never did quite understand what happened. We were f*cking good though even in the infancy of the side when I was in it..
  19. Depends who's giving out the long balls as well. If you click on the link below and then passing and roll over LB you can see the completion rate and total number http://www.whoscored.com/Teams/18
  20. Well they won't get many win bonuses away from home that's for sure. If,as some maintain, the players pay structure is heavily biased towards results and league position I'd assume that they may not be too keen on losing and being in the bottom few.
  21. How many of those has he used up now then?
  22. I thought West Ham were a side who know how to get points from games that they should be able to get points from. As long as we beat Fulham we'll be able to compare ourselves to them although I'm sure that they'd not have lost to Wigan. Now if Lallana could have the impact that Vaz Te seems to be able to make then I'd call him a top player.
  23. But the OP has a point, foulwise Morgan is our hatchet man, think he's run up about 9 or 10 fouls in his 5 games this season, none of them particularly nasty no doubt but he puts himself about, lets the opposition know he's there and not a featherweight pansy. Davis must have committed just 2 or 3 fouls so far and I don't think JWP has any at all on the counter. The ability to foul well should not be underestimated, especially if you can do it with just 1 yellow in 5 games.
  24. We should be looking to at least match QPR's record last season although that might not be enough W10 (7H 3A) D7 (5H 2A) L21 (7H 14A)
