  1. they don't, they get 30 minutes at the end. Now let me see did Ox have trouble getting a game or Theo or an 18 year old Morgan or an 18 year old Cork...nope don't remember that.If you're good enough, you're old enough. Zaha is 17, he's a starter at Palace.
  2. Next Tuesday then, look forward to him running the show against Posh whilst our other 4 CMs have a night off in the stands.
  3. Forte used to be quite a regular at Sheffield.S****horpe/Doncaster/Lincoln. He's chalked up 200+ league appearances for his various clubs, not so dusty at all, scores at about 1 goal every 7 games. So he's not what you'd really call a striker.Started pretty young as well so that lightning speed might just have the edge knocked off of it by now. Still think he'd be better as a classic wide man if necessary with Guly at the sharp end. Then again he may offer nothing whatsover in the defensive department so extremely unlikely to get much playing time as a wide man either.
  4. Boro score very few goals and concede even fewer,we'll need something extra at the sharp end to overcome them.
  5. I've never missed a day's work through drunkeness no, in fact in 38 years of career I've only had one sick day. On this I do not live in a glass house.
  6. As I said,we should have gone the whole hog and not inflicted this calvary on first team players, Cork,Morgan,De Ridder,Martin and Harding. Wouldn't have given a toss about that.Brave show from the youngsters would have been worth seeing.
  7. He actually scored some goals at ****horpe, had a few periods on loans as well. I think the highlights of his career to date actually came when he was on loan at Lincoln. Then again I suspect that S****horpe were using him as a winger and provider for Billy Sharp and not a central hit man.We may get more out of him if we were to follow suit on that.Move Guly forward and use JonnoQuick out on the right.
  8. Which is as I said, he got what was coming to him, very poor show really, self-inflicted injury. I'd sack him, so would my employers, happens all of the time actually. Strange isn't it,a supermarket check-out girl can get sacked for picking up an unused promotional offer that a client left behind but a footballer can deprive his employer of his services for 6 months or so because of stupid drunken behaviour and he's considered as some sort of fallen hero. No sympathy with the man to be honest.
  9. Out of interest here's our first round team Bialkowski 12 Butterfield 16 Martin 23 Dickson 25 Seaborne 04 Schneiderlin 10 Guly (Forte 78) 18 Chaplow 24 Holmes (Lallana 70) 33 De Ridder (Hammond 70) 07 Lambert Were'nt taking the p*ss then were we.
  10. Doubt it, Man U tried it with the FA Cup because they had the world clubs championship at the same time, caused one hell of a to do. If you don't want to be in the League Cup or the FA Cup or the JPT you field a ridiculously weak side in the first round and have done with it (well not the JPT because there are rules about that).I bet we had a better side out against Torquay in the first round than we did last night. At least we would have had 2 senior midfielders to rely on.
  11. Can't win games with the sort of firepower we had on display, unless of course he expected goals from De Ridder. Last summer we were running after a whole host of 3/4/5 million £ strikers if you believe rumour and the popular press.Didn't sign any of them so our league front line is Lambert and Connolly, when they're gone what have we left ?? f/all that's what. How he expected us to win last night amazes me.We have a striking crisis now, Rickie OK even if there are a few penalties on his counter but the others just aren't performing...which is why we were willing to pay 5 million £ for a striker just 2 months ago i guess.
  12. Don't mind us not wanting to win myself but in that case we should have gone the whole hog and just played the U21s and the academy,no first teamers (ie matchday 16 regulars) whatsoever.
  13. Do we actually have a 4th choice striker though?? Rickie,Barney,Connolly.....where's the 4th, if we had one surely he should be shouldering his part of the workload in league games. Guly is playing in midfield most of the time and De Ridder seems to be a direct replacement for him at sub time.
  14. And so we could have got to the quarters, it just needed a bit more gumption from the manager. All he needed to do was play Guly and Reeves in the first half, bring on Barney at 60 and then Rickie if necessary at about 75. What we didn't need to do was play that total waste of space for any time at all.He should have been loaned out to Yeovil or Oxford or wherever it is the we send our abject failures for the season.I really don't think any of the other lads from the U21s could have done any less.Where was Doble by the way?
  15. Whilst not displeased with the end of "The Guide" I fear that we will be sorely disappointed, nay troubled,by the bunch we've helped to replace him with. Something we should have just left alone and let them get on with with no outside intervention.
  16. Admits it himself even, some supporters make heros out of particular players and can't see past the blinkers.
  17. Seems a bit odd, are they saying he got what was coming to him? Surely not!!
  18. Not really, Morgan,Cork and Martin will be needed on Saturday, now they're demoralised.
  19. Black mark for the manager, as Dave says no cutting edge, if we wanted to lose we should have sent the U21s. Needed at least one of Guly,Barney or Rickie from the start, instead of a converted left back and a total waste of space.
  20. desperation was what that signing was about.
  21. When will we get over this "Lambert Territory" crap, hasn't scored from a free kick for ages.
  22. 2-0, that's it then, didn't want to win obviously. As Dave says plenty of possession, good build up, nothing up front. Bad decision by the management not to start 1 first team striker.
  23. E.T but it won't be necessary
  24. Too late, all our effort has been wasted by a non-strike force.
