So Poyet starting from scratch with a very poor side got 45 points from 31 games, this season he's got 59 from 29 whereas our man has got about the same as last season's manager.Poyet came in and improved everything, we had a manager who gradually improved the side as well, then we sacked him and got one who's blanc bonnet and bonnet blanc.We have changed a good manager for a so so one. There was no need to do that, we should have gotten someone a darn sight better.Why change a manager after 4 games of the season if you're not going to get anyone better?? I have nothing against Adkins but he wasn't the best we could have got.

We will not lose against Swindon, it's unthinkable.

Don't forget our awful start to last season 9 points from 10 games,doubt if we scored many goals either.After that APs stats are superior to this season's.

I see last season's statistics as an argument to the contrary. We're still 34 points shy of our total last season (3 more if you think that once the play-offs were gone we experimented at Gillingham).We're about 35 goals shy as well,two players who were brought in at the close season are either on the bench or in the stands and we're giving away more soft goals. I really don't think Adkins and his staff are doing any better than Pardew and Downes last season, I really really don't.

Adkins,Crosby and Wilkins. the sign of a good coach or a good manager cum coach is that he improves his players. Who thinks that any of the above has improved a single one of our players?

But since then we've changed both full backs, are alternating Seaborne and Jaidi,we've replaced a flair midfielder with a cart-horse,Lallana has been injured,we've burnt out Ox and Guly can't score for toffee.

And that's about Poyet and his coaches,as long as we have Wilkins involved anywhere in our set up we will be staid and unimaginative.As I personally think that Adkins doesn't have the experience or savvy to override this we will always be predictable.As we have chosen to alternate Jaidi and Seaborne in defence rather than bringing on the more talented Martin we'll always either get caught for pace or give away stupid penalties and soft goals.

Might I just point out that in 2006/7 when NA's side took automatic promotion from League 1 it was Brian Laws that was in charge until November and they were already in the top 2 when he was sacked. True NA guided them to the top from then on but with Law's side. They also had a striker who was extremely performant, and not from the penalty spot either. I think on the other occasion when NA obtained promotion it was via the play-offs??

Because they had Austin and some loans from the Prem, they don't have any of them now, that's why they've picked up 3 points from their last 10 games.

But if you look at the last 12 games I think Bournemouth are in front of us with 25 points from those 12 games to our our 22. After 18 games Bournemouth were a point below us and now they're 5 in front despite losing their manager and some players. So how do you interpret this? If we play true to form we'll take a bit less than 6 points from our 3 games in hand on them and still be below them by fractions of a point. If they carry their last 12 games form forward and we do the same we'll finish below them. The whole pivotal point is the game between the 2 sides on the 12th March, they can play for a draw, we'll need to win.

Adkins says anything that comes into his head at the time. Did he mention that we could have lost it as easily as Adam could have scored 3?

No it isn't, they have a manager who knows what he's doing with it and a keeper who doesn't give away many soft goals that's all. Our side is mismanaged on occasions . They also have a striker who has scored 17 goals including 0 penalties.When we have that sort of potency we won't be drawing at home to Notts County or away to Hartlepool. We should have paid a lot of money for a real goalscorer in the window. Our transparency in this department is obscured by the 6 penalties and a deflected freekick in Lambert's goal count.35 games this season, 7 goals from open play, that's one every 5 games.

Statistics (45 points from 23 games) say that the team and Adkins are good enough to go up.It's our recent away record that is troubling.As long as home form keeps up and we get the odd away win and the draws keep coming then I can't see us not finishing second.If we have difficulty with Bournemouth,Brighton and Charlton away and another side shocks us at home then all may change but I'm still reasonably confident.Adkins needs to rest Ox a bit though and get the midfield right. Morgan and Chaplow,doubt if he'll do that though.

Getting us up is all that matters,we'll need better to progress after that anyway.

Yet Wilkins is still here, we really needed a clean sweep there.

Spot on, we need a striker who can score from open play on a regular basis.We also need to stop tarting about in midfield,Morgan and one of Chaplow or Hammond. Adkins has got that all wrong.
