Although 5 or 6 of our players have played more games this season than Fonte and one has made 3 or 4 international appearances to boot.Don't quite see why he's been singled out for extra leave, perhaps they all have a short break as well.

Hope we put a decent team out today because I get the feeling that Shrewsbury might give us a bit of a rough ride.Defence worries me at the best of times tbh,with no Fonte it may be both exceptionally slow and exceptionally fragile, the Shrews will come at us from the kick off and we may well have to weather an uncomfortable 20 minutes or so.

Didn't get anywhere near enough game time with us for Reading to extend the loan (even if we had wanted to).I guess the object of loaning out young players to lower league clubs is for them to get pitch time and not bench time.

Anyway Shrewsbury will probably give us a better game than the abysmal D+R. Think they've got that long throw merchant with a funny name playing for them, have to watch that as we aren't all that great on set pieces.

And you think that being ridiculed by a raw 17 year old is playing football the right way. Oh I know it's good for us and all that but AOC was made to look something he isn't (as yet) by the paucity of their defence.The keeper was Sunday League standard to be honest.To me to bring a side like that and ask people to pay £20 to watch it is insulting. Smacks of Derby in their EPL season,just there to take the money,although that can't be D+R's case.

Why??? they have a side composed of what are basically non-league players and are probably paying them ever so slightly more than non league salaries. You can't pay very much on home gates of a bit less than 3000 every other week.

Their keeper put the first one in trying to turn it over the bar.If he hadn't touched it it wouldn't have gone straight in although I think we had someone following up.

Anyway goals like that against a rubbish keeper such as Dagenham's don't count for very much on the global scale. Do it against a reasonable keeper...yep, goal of the season candidate, against that clown they had, well it probably ranks with the Southampton Schools 5 a side candidates.

Honestly for this type of first round match it's probably better to be drawn away. Shrewsbury will be absolutely dire and we will win at a canter.Our ground is too big for this sort of encounter, we'll get 17K 'ish I suppose and the atmosphere will be flat as a week old pint of mild.

It just won't happen that way though. We have seen NA's first team last Tuesday, that's what he wants so that's how it will be. Morgan will move on in January.

just watched that, good stuff but how D+R are in the same league as us I just couldn't say. Non League standard really, especially that keeper, scored our first 2 goals.

I don't know who leftback is, don't much care either really, he has his say, same as everyone else.Although he could pay £5 for the privilege.
