  1. time for a lucky smoke then
  2. but that was on Saturday, exactly as it was.
  3. We were in this situation once before, towards then end of last season, young lad stopped everything and we only got a draw.
  4. change to Dagenham side, keeper
  5. talking about cricket
  6. Likes Chaplow evidently, determined to give him a game at all costs, hope this isn't a Jermaine Wright prelude. Perhaps Morgan has a knock, if not he'll be pretty furax I would guess.Probably already writing out his transfer request.
  7. What it transforms her from Man U to Dagenham and Redbridge?
  8. I once made a wooden bowl in the school woodwork shop, still got it, pretty handsome bowl even if I do say so myself. Must have been the only object that I ever had any success with. Always remember the woodwork master shouting "You stupid boy, can't you see you've planed against the grain" at me.Couldn't actually but then handicraft isn't my thing.
  9. Team, as we finished on Saturday except Barnard for Bignall. subs errr Bart, Morgan,Guly,Puncheon,Bignall plus a couple I don't remember
  10. yep, last Saturday/Sunday. If you look at the top of the commentary panel it says that it's 49 minutes or so to kick off time. never mind nip out and vote for the local redneck or something.
  11. because it's not time yet.
  12. We have to be careful not to over estimate them and give them the good tonking a shît side such as they deserves.
  13. It would seem that many of our fans don't care for the finer aspects of what is now judged to be good football. I watched some of Blackpool-Baggies yesterday.Even at Blackpool the ball goes round and round and back and forward as players try to get into position to launch a meaningful raid, they don't just boot it in the general direction of someone who is triple marked and shut out. This is the way the game is now played, keep the ball, inch forward and then whoosh...all this crap about lunging runs and forward passes being de rigeur just aren't valid any more. Having the ball is what counts.
  14. But probably not with us.Morgan is at a crossroads in his development, because of the bleuets elimination from Euro 2011 the side will now gradually swing towards the 1990/1991 generation. So there are very few opportunities left for the 1989 generation apart from those who laurent Blanc wants to maintain in the Equipe France structue ie Morgan and 3 or 4 others, because they have genuine international potential according to the DTN.Even if we go up this season he's not going to get full international status playing with a NPC club because the football is judged to be of a lower standard than any major championship or even the French 1st division. So he'll probably want to move on sooner than later as I believe he has genuine international ambitions.
  15. Although they are not known for the accuracy of their sales updates
  16. Once again we have this common misconception that a football team is composed of a goalkeeper and 10 free electrons who can spin and wander every which way they choose on the pitch.Players assume the role that the manager or coach gives them, if they wander off along their own trajectory every now again the get subbed and bollicked by the manager. All professional footballers are capable of making tackles (after a fashion),hitting 50 yard passes, juggling the ball 300 times and going on forward runs. Whether the coach wants them to do that is something else.
  17. so are the club
  18. Puncheon is one of the players having played most games for us this season. Don't know about time played exactly though. I would have thought that Morgan had played the most games overall though. Not at all strange that these 2 look the most jaded.
  19. probably different rules in the EPL, perhaps shorts count less then, I don't know. The commentator on a CL game where the sock taping had to be changed said it was because UEFA say that they want to be able to see whose legs are where.
  20. Of course this is an Ince side where anyone with a bit of a mean streak gets wound up from before the kick off to the end of the match (unless he's been sent off already of course) It's an Ince tactic.
  21. County had black socks so we had to change because nothing must be the same colour. In France and some CL matches the 4th official has started making players with white tape over coloured socks retape them with tape of the same colour as the socks so that there is absolutely no confusion from "cap à pied"
  22. what sort of fallout?
  23. Doesn't look like a free header at all, Lallana jumps (if you can call it that) with Edwards but obviously has no chance of beating him in the air.I wouldn't even say it was down to Seaborne either, Lallana and Barnard had the job between them...why? who knows.Fonte on the other hand isn't marking anyone in particular. After looking at the video again I can't see where blaming Seaborne even comes from, he's the other side of the 6 yd box.
  24. Just one little point, the lack of marking for County's goal was down to Lallana and/or Barnard, they were there but too static, too small and insufficiently athletic. Harding was on the near post where he should have been.
  25. Consequentialism is a concept as old as time,as long as the result is right the means are justified. We may not be playing particularly well but we are getting the points necessary to get us out of this crap league. When you listen to his interviews NA always stresses the same thing "winning games of football", we battle it out against teams who are just there for a good old scrap, I very much doubt that there is such a thing as constant beautiful football in this league, odd matches or sequences of play yes but given the standard of the opposition in most cases it's a lost cause.Sides will come at us early on and we just have to survive during that onslaught because at the end of the day only winning counts. Now I remember watching Arsenal in their first double season back in the early 70s, it was atrocious most of the time, they had hackers in their side who wouldn't get a game in the Conference nowadays but they won most matches and the double to boot.
