  1. Hence the proviso "unless the manager is detrimental to their collective ability" (or whatever I wrote)
  2. I have gone for indifferent( because I am) If the players are good enough it doesn't matter who the manager is. A football manager used to remain in the shadows (none of us ever discussed the abilities of Ted Bates) Only the players count unless of course the manager is detrimental to their collective ability. AP has done an OK job, others could have done easily as well,I really don't give a rat's arse if he is here next season or no. AP is not the Messiah, he's had a shedload of cash and has produced a reasonable result with it.If we had given the same means to say Danny Wilson or Kenny Jackett we would probably have done better.
  3. In fact the BBC article on the same subject is far more lucid. Brighton made him an offer (which in theory he agreed to) but the player then chose to wait for Saints who Brighton cannot compete with. Apparently he missed their last 3 matches with a hip injury and Poyet is peeved because they took a chance on an injured player who then chose to wait for us.
  4. not according to mehball...why do people bother to bullsh*t all of the time. Is there rehab for the seemingly constant necessity to make stuff up to proove one's own importance?
  5. The expenses include teams travel arrangements (maximum 2 nights hotel etc) plus I suppose the cost of hiring the Stadium (this is a Football League competition so i guess they have to pay) I saw on Carlisle's site that they expected a 500K "windfall" guess we got about the same, except that we won and had to pay win bonuses
  6. No we received 45% of the gate receipts after all expenses had been paid, it's not the same thing at all. Perhaps about 450/500 K£
  7. so in fact for a meagre 260K£ paid over 2 years we were able to con Stoke out of about 1.3 million £ for a player who everyone knew was a permanent injury crisis. I think Davies has managed about 10 or 15 games since we sold him, most of them on loan oop North. Very smart work by Mr Lowe if you ask me,especially as we saved a lot of money on his wages as well, seeing as how he was never fit to play..
  8. guess they figure that they might as well make a bit of money from mugs. I remember all the betting info when Burley left and then again when Gorman and Dodd got the push, local bookies must have minted it on all the money that got put on Coleman, Davies and Uncle Tom Cobley, why some bloke who eventually got the Iceland National job was about 6/1 favourite. sorry Finland
  9. It was certainly the cause of my 10 days in Martinique.
  10. what better than Barbara Castle, the breathalyser queen?
  11. wasn't it a broken leg and/or ankle last time?
  12. cos the Echo said so...oh wait up; see what you mean.
  13. Although the miracle of turning wine into water can be seen in any pub bog any day of the week.
  14. Ostlund ?? complete rubbish, a lot of huff and puff and kissing the badge (which seems to please many amongst us) but nowhere near good enough for SFC. Always injured so played about 50 games in 3 years.Saw us coming, or his agent did.
  15. So if he's out does than mean that Bridger can get a call up?
  16. Still a few smart people made a fair bit of money from that, I know I did, 60p for shares I bought for 30p...couldn't believe it.
  17. probably profit from the occasion to **** a couple of nurses and the radiologist then.
  18. Stand in or replacement? depends if he catches recruiters eyes at Toulon I guess. Toulon is well known as being a market place for young football talent. I think Pericard got signed by Juventus because he scored a shedload of goals there.
  19. Micky Mouse figures,
  20. Not me, I want a team (and a Manager) who can go to Brentford, Exeter and Wycombe and kick ass.
  21. Perhaps Cotterill has turned us down ;) cos he's after the Coventry job now.
  22. Doubt if he's better than Mick Mills(or Golac for that matter) If he was he wouldn't be playing for Brighton on a 6 month contract.
  23. At least Morgan won't be going on holiday for a couple more weeks, just seen he's in the French U20s for the Toulon tournament from Monday 17th onwards. Usually gets a bit of air time on Eurosport but whether that's just here or not I couldn't say. Must be still in the FFF's plans then.
  24. TSW spiritual home of pointless unfounded drivel
