  8. Result... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-abou-diaby-is-injured-again-1317878?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Surprise, surprise: Injury-prone Diaby is back on Arsenal's sick list Midfielder is ruled out of France's midweek World Cup game and may not recover in time to face Southampton on Saturday Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby's injury curse has struck AGAIN. The luckless France midfielder has been ruled out of their World Cup qualifier with Belarus on Tuesday, and is also a doubt for Saturday's meeting between the Gunners and Southampton. Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps revealed that Diaby took a kick against Finland on Friday, now has a muscle strain and will not be risked. Deschamps said: "He felt a bit of muscle pain in training. He knows his body well, all the players do, but maybe he knows his a little bit more given all the problems he's had before. "He's not moving freely in his body. Before you envisage going out on the pitch, it's better not to have any worries when you're on the massage table." Diaby played only five games last season - two in November, one in early March and two in mid-April - as he battled a variety of injuries, but had started the Gunners' first three games of the new campaign. Arsenal are, however, set for an injury boost. Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky is set to return to full training and could be back within two weeks.

  12. I've said before, I would've kept him here as a squad player as IMO, he will score goals at any level you play him. He is a natural goalscorer. He knows exactly where the net is and as an option with 10-15 mins to go and we're chasing the game, throw him up top and he'll chase everything, use his strength and just be a nuisance. Definitely wouldn't have got rid of him.
  13. I thought the same as you when he was appointed by Sky for the role but my god has my opinion changed of him. Totally unbiased, praises opposition, not afraid to criticise Utd, extremely thorough analysis on MNF - Superb pundit IMO. Definitely a masterstroke by Hodgson getting him involved in the national setup.
  14. There was some reports from up north that we did fail with a deadline day attempt to sign Martin Olsson from Blackburn for £3m but that wasnt accepted. I know we were going to go for Williams but obviously got his injury and that bid wasn't submitted. If he wasnt injured and we got him we would've had Fonte, Jos, Yoshida and Williams as our 4 CB's which would've looked much better but obviously only Yoshida came in.
  15. I've said I'd chuck him in from the start. He's a complete unknown entity to the opposition whereas Adkins and the rest of the coaching team know his strengths. Go for it IMO.
  16. Good couple of potential wallpapers if anyone is interested? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/cms_images/news/adkins-ramirez-wide148-347061_1600x900.jpg http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/cms_images/player/gaston-ramirez-shirt-wide148-347046_1600x900.jpg
  17. As I said the other day, reminds me very much of a Dembele type player going by the videos I've seen. Tall, bit of a unit, commanding, very good technically, can score goals, sets up plenty of chances, and just drifts past players with ease. Very exciting and very excited. Cannot wait for the Arsenal game now!
  18. It's gonna be extremely harsh on the club and Adkins that most probably after the Arsenal game we are still pointless but when you put our start into context and compare it to the rest of the league, no one else comes close to the quality of opposition we have had to face. We just need to accept it, and wait until the rest of the league have their tough spell and we need to make the most of it from our point of view. No need to panic. Already accepted the fact we're likely to be struggling and likely be bottom after 6 or so games. I am however expecting to start rattling the points on the board after those fixtures with a win IMO against Fulham at home, get some points at West Ham, get something against Tottenham after their poor start and AVB destroying and remoulding the squad, WBA potential point, Swansea will be difficult but be able to get something at QPR and we'll be on our way. The international break will do the group the world of good IMO. Gives everyone a chance to reflect on the first 3 games, performance wise, get some training in with the lads who arent away on duty and get Ramirez, Mayuka, Yoshida etc involved and ready for the Arsenal game. Get a few games under their belt and by the time we face Everton or Fulham, the squad will be much more comfortable with the formation and much stronger. EDIT: At the start of each season, I do a spreadsheet and predict our points as soon as the fixtures come out. I just went back and checked and realised I had us down to lose to City (correct), beat Wigan (wrong), lose to Utd and Arsenal and get a point at Villa and Everton. That totals to a predicted 5 points after August and September. So far we still have 0 but I would now go as far to say that we'll beat Villa away after their start but get nothing at Everton. Still get 3 points after 6 games. Only 2 off my prediction. I then have us to get 14 points from October and November, exactly where I just said we will being to start racking up the points. Overall, I have us finishing on 47 points - enough to stay up. Don't forget, I did this as soon as the fixtures came out and havent touched it since so with the new players we've brought in, we could end up doing a bit better than that.
