He is actually Spurs captain. Shows how high AVB rates him! Just not fully fit at the moment. Would easily get in ahead of Caulker or Gallas when ready.
-
I'm not taking what he says as gospel as he is hardly an Alan Nixon, has a man on the inside, type of journo with pretty solid news but will be interesting to see what he has heard. With regards to Dawson, would be a top top signing but like many others, I just feel the lure of wages from someone like QPR will be more attractive than us but we'll see come January.
-
That same journo. His DM on Twitter: "Pretty high from what I've heard. He wants a new challenge and Saints is certainly that. Top player and would sort a big problem out." Also, according to him, some BIG news to come out at some point during the week and not good news either. He cant let it out yet but will tell me at somepoint when it does. He does however go on to say it's not all bad news down here though.
-
Been told theres a very high chance of this happening as he wants a new challenge.
-
Knew it. Journo_Slash: I've been told that #Southampton want Spurs defender Michael Dawson in January. QPR still want him but Adkins is very keen, would cost £7m+
-
alex_crook: Hearing #saintsfc are lining up loan move for experiened @premierleague defender in Jan. Will tweet name later or follow @journoslash 4 more

Sounds like he really feels / knows the writing is on the wall.

So will many other left backs. Even players like Evra, Clichy etc will get torn apart by Lennon's pace. Unless we or any other team have Clyne (pace) or similar at left back, Lennon will always look better than he really is. Very direct but not much at the end of it. For our current positon and situation, we could do a lot worse than Danny Fox (i.e Ian Harte (Reading), George McCartney (WHU), Joe Bennett (Villa), Danny Rose (Sunderland)

I agree with the fact that it is the way football is going but I definitely know which one I'd prefer on our kit!

I think the rule is that the away kit has to be worn a minimum of 8 times or somewhere around that mark.

The way everything is going, if we keep struggling and he keeps standing out for us, he could well be off in January!! Then we'd be fecked!
-
I'm sorry but I don't think Lallana is the right choice as Captain. Doesn't seem vocal enough or like he has the ability to shout at his teammates, organise and grab the game by the b0llocks and try to affect it. Someone like Lambert would be my choice if I'm honest with you.
-
I agree but the formation is totally wrong today. We knew about Everton's threat from wide positions so what do we do? Play with 3 narrow CM's and Ramirez floating around the pitch in a 'free role'. Get the formation right, and then for games like this, fit the players to it. Play Rodriguez out of postion, i couldnt care less as long as it puts more pressure on Baines / Pienaar than the current formation is. Fellaini is dropping into that hole where surprise surprise, we have no DM. play Davis DM and what he lacks in height, he should make up for in tenacity. This then leaves 2 CB's to track the single, loan striker who to be honest, is one of the best off the ball movers I've seen in a while. He only needs 1 touch when played in so need to keep an eye on him. Too simple.
-
Thankyou!! You are on my wavelength. Get Rodriguez and Ramirez wide, push their full backs higher up the pitch to start with. When they attack drop back. 1 DM (Davis) holds his position while the other 2 CM's (JWP & Lallana) keep the shape and try to win the ball. Play the same formation we started the season. It is suited perfect for today.
-
Because we're playing with no wide men. Meaning 1 of the CM's has to pull wide leaving 2 getting overrun. Too simple for NA to see by the look of it.
-
I tried explaining this pre-match. Need to play 4-3-3 when Schneiderlin isn't playing. We are too lightweight otherwise. Should be JWP, Davis and Lallana as 3 CM's, Rodriguez 1 wing, Ramirez the other and Lambert up through the middle.
-
Again, Everton get down the flanks and score again. 3-1 too easy.
-
What is happening is exactly what I thought would happen. Full backs getting exposed and Everton exposing it.
-
Very brave from Adkins. That means it'll look something like this I think. Main concern is Richardson at right back and the thought he'll be quite exposed if JWP doesnt push across and double up with him. Gazzaniga Richadson Fonte Yoshida Clyne Ward-Prowse Davis Lallana Ramirez Lambert Rodriguez
-
Rodriguez is playing wide after showing his ability in the City & Wigan game to get back and support his full back. Wouldn't even surprise me if he was actually playing wide right today. I cant see it being anything other than 4-3-3. Play 4-2-3-1 and we'll get torn apart down the right IMO but with the 4-3-3 and Rodriguez on the right, he can push Baines back high up the pitch but also get back to support Richardson. 4-4-2 and we'll get overrun in CM but I was thinking it could potentially be a diamond / 4-3-1-2 but that would again leave the full backs exposed due to no designated wide men. Interesting dilemma today for Adkins.
-
Possibly but I think it will be like how we started the season. Davis and JWP is too lightweight as holding MF IMO.
