  1. What happens if United finish 5th, wham 6th and us 7th. Won't United winning the FA cup guarantee us european football. In other words, it's still out of our hands?
  2. I assumed (wrongly) it still required united to win the cup.
  3. It won't be in our hands, will it....
  4. Barry Davies started it.
  5. ****s United showed less bottle than the bus.
  6. Sheringham
  7. Germany has the best national side in the world - how many of it's players play in Spain? Kroos and that's about it. Home bias rather than quality appears to be the main reason players don't move: provided the domestic league is competitive enough, domestic players generally prefer to stay at home.
  8. Not a bad shout, though arguably a case of a player exceeding extremely low expectations rather than showing any real upside. Thought first half Sunday exposed some of his limitations and the need to strengthen RB over the summer; still he's a useful squad member and at £1m he represents decent value.
  9. When was the last time a cheap gamble on a foreign player paid off for us? Not saying it's a bad idea. Hopefully wee Ross has some pleasant surprises up his sleeve this summer...
  10. I thought you had a HCDJFU crush on your boy Dwight?
  11. You would think so, though with his previous, there's always a question mark.
  12. Reading Stoke's forum (as you do), came across this yesterday. Too many people here with blinkers on and unable to see quality because of his alleged attitude. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/257043/wanyama
  13. Dont buy the acclimatisation story. It may explain a few of the opening results, including the European exit (some of which didnt feature VVD); but we then went on a decent run. The collapse happened midway through the season.
  14. You do talk some s**t
  15. Easy to play what if - wonder where we would have been with a decent right back (I can name a couple of other positions too).
  16. Yep -united but not the scousers. We are also cheering on chelsea, if that makes you feel any better...
  17. Kane was an obvious distraction -and a strong case can be made he was interfering with play (and hence offside). Nothing to do with his injury. Forster has seemed reluctant to come off his line since his Villa gaffe last season.
  18. Great result at a bogey ground. Up there with coming back and beating the scousers.
  19. Would have gone Romeu instead of Clasie; but otherwise good team.
  20. Vardy is the love child of steptoe and dot cotton.
  21. Good to see a piece by strongarm in the national press Another one in the eye to the clowns that were belittling his journalistic aspirations, calling him a Alex Crook lackey. But then again they have been getting a lot wrong recently
  22. I don't disagree with that, though that characterisation falls well short of calling it a complete fluke. Whether the reduced competition from the top clubs is a blip or a trend is the most interesting question. It's worth remembering the top clubs were also largely **** the season before, though this summer is likely to see some pretty serious rearmament. As for injuries, Leicester were fortunate, though it's worth pointing out that the likes of Vardy did play through significant problems (arguably enough to keep others out of games), so the idea they had a magical clean bill of health is a tad simplistic.
  23. You can put Leicester's success down to a lot of things that might be difficult to repeat; however, the last thing it was, was a complete fluke. Teams don't outperform everyone else for 38 games and win the title at a canter by lucking out. That's a virtual contradiction in terms. But that's par for the course on here.
