So according to this it's £2m + add-ons for Lambert. Article sounds like horse**** to me.

The only thing that counts is his specific importance to the team in the here and now -much of which is probably discounted in the transfer market. In short, his value to us is greater than the value market puts on him. In those circumstances, one party would normally say thanks but no thanks and walk away from a deal.

V.v.unlikely that there's a buyout clause. Quite apart from the fact that it would have probably been leaked, its inconsistent with the way its been handled -e.g. differences in valuation. You pay the minimum amount with a buyout clause, not haggle over price. IMO, another case of 2+2=5 just because the lad is a liverpool fan.

On the bright side this might even unite the Anyone-But-Cortese brigade.
