  1. Surely some of this is natural if teams are linked with our players and some want to leave? The uncertainly created by endless speculation is partly out of the club's control.
  2. Would like to say it was done on a limited (mental) budget against top quality opposition but our Glasgow never extended the same courtesy.
  3. Guess the mongboard is more attentive to some things than others, GS. Certainly better than your two last attempts post-ban. I understand the UI has a Heisenberg, so a neat ploy to piggyback off a legitimate poster (of course, you have done something similar with Olallana, so the modus operandi has your fingerprints all over it). Next time, remember to get lubed up and insert yourself nice and slowly, not hit it quick and hard.
  4. Nothing specifically about Katrina but as a general observation the best way to destroy a business is to entrust it to your children.
  5. No, though there's something a bit incongruous about Les. If he wasn't in football, I swear he'd be a controller of a South London minicab fleet.
  6. In a nutshell: no. Anyone who says yes is afraid of success. It's a nice dilemma to be in. Much better than drifting meaninglessly and taking pride from one's own inconsequentiality.
  7. Quiet game but fantastic free kick. A bit of good news.
  8. So you're writing off Soldado?
  9. Source? And what about a transfer budget? Take your time, you'll need it.
  10. Think so as well but Derry claimed via Lallana's father that if MP stayed, there's a good chance that nobody would go anywhere. Supposedly depends on him getting the funds to strengthen.
  11. I suggest you don't know much about competitive team sports then.
  12. Couldn't agree more.
  13. I meant it in jest (see St. Charlie's original post), though your joke was funnier than mine
  14. Because keeping players will be much easier without MP Given RK and KL have no track record, they have a hell of job on their hands to convince sceptical players that the club is still going places and the disruption will be minimal. MP's loyalty was to himself, the players and, despite what the embittered space cadets here say, Cortese - sad but true. We're now seeing the consequences of this play out.
  15. Steve Evans, the new Billy Davies? Who else has spearheaded back to back promotions - the anyone-but-Cortese brigade inform us that Nige was simply bankrolled.
  16. His loyalty extended as far as Cortese and the players. That's it.
  17. Or as Arsenal fans are saying, time to take spurs seriously.
  18. Not so sure - he's obviously a narcissist and attracts speculation. But he gutted it out longer at Brighton than I expected, notwithstanding the links to other positions.
  19. My preference, at least domestically, is Poyet - but would we be a more attractive choice than Sunderland?
  20. Yeh against a third string back line and a depleted midfield and several individual howlers. He did little to raise his stock on the basis of those games. Would say you're a little blinkered.
  21. Of course, it's over top. I made my position clear in post 257 and have largely refrained from the mindless cheerleading and bashing of the board. Have taken amusement from some of RK's sporting analogies and the-anyone-but-Cortese defiance that appears to have clouded judgments while challenging those who have wet themselves over the extent to which the board's public statements (and lack of them) have supposedly made us a sitting duck for the vultures. At most, am slightly on the sceptical side -in part because I think the board lacks the credibility to call the shots (largely through no fault of its own - see my earlier post) and some of the statements of players like Cork and the insights of some of the more informed journos like Blackmore. Otherwise, am trying to keep an open mind and prefer to see what happens.
  22. Of course, you are - you are claiming that you don't know what else the board could have done to keep everyone happy. That the board has done everything it can. That's a massive assumption when we're in the dark about its ambitions and spending plans.
  23. And you're making a heap of assumptions -about the conditions offered to MP. As you say, this is Saintsweb.
  24. Were you born yesterday? Sorry to break it to you but they're called football platitudes.
  25. The most recent news was that there were internal splits on the spurs board, some wanting MP, others not. Perhaps those splits have now been resolved and it's full steam ahead. Which is news.
