  1. Yep, he had a torrid opening 10 mins - they hit the bar, coming in off our left and had another very good chance down the same side; but he calmed down immeasurably after that.
  2. Yep- fell ill the night before the game.
  3. I remember Tokyo going full retard when This Charming Lad and fellow mongs were making sectarian and loyalist jibes. Like the Hulk, lad's got a temper. Anything's possible.
  4. Bazza's certainly gone down a storm but that's not difficult on a mongboard that's more highly strung than this place. No amount of Lynx deodorant can hide the disgust and desperation produced by a bunch of overweight, middle-age regional salesmen in the outer fringes of cyberspace. Credit where credit is due. Unless Bazza gets his kicks from self-flagellation, he's already wiped the floor with Dune and his hyacinth bucket pretences. Poor old Dune is now digging up his family tree -ergo stump- to put an aristocratic gloss on his six fingers and cleft lip. Just waiting for his big Sally Hemings moment. We'll see if Bazza can add a few more strings to his bow as he settles in for the long haul -the Cilla reference is a slightly auspicious sign. But as Pap points out, if anyone can move outfits without being fazed, its Bazza.
  5. So much for lazy and superficial comparisons between what the big clubs do and how we've supposedly hoovered up all the talent from the little clubs. The bigger you are, the more likely you can, in turn, ward off advances for your players. The one thing the article didn't point out is that the bigger clubs also face less competition when signing players as others are effectively priced out of the market. So yes it's a dog eat dog world at all levels but being top dog (or one of the top dogs) puts you in a markedly different position in the food chain.
  6. Still 90% sure MP is staying?
  7. Forget players contracts, you seriously think Kruger is not involved in MP's contract, a strategic matter for the club MLG labouring with the literal since 2006.
  8. Only 3? ffs
  9. Conversations with well-connected spurs fans - not claiming they or I are ITK.
  10. Poch is a gonner.
  11. You could tell he had something special in 2007 - remember him coming on up at Barnsley when we were trailing 2-0 and single-handedly turning the game.
  12. Our situation is sightly different - our transfer budget is not large enough to make the long-term bets. The top clubs can afford to wait, knowing their squad is deep enough that other players can fill in. By contrast, it is expected that our signings will make a more or less immediate impact.
  13. I posted this at the end of the game The idea that winning the FA cup is going to kickstart a new era of trophies and a new found mental strength, as some are hoping and claiming, is ***** IMO.
  14. Still a bunch of bottlers - turned a new leaf - same old ar$e.
  15. The cool kids are watching barca-athletico.
  16. Have noticed you do spout some ****. What about his use of subs, that bench brimming with options and game-changing ability?
  17. Cheers Guly for everything you've done on the pitch and on the mongboard.
  18. Disagree completely. In terms of understanding, the relationship between Lallana, Jrod and Lambert is far harder to reproduce. Shaw is an excellent player and Fox was out of his depth. But Shaw's contribution is felt far more as an individual, not because of how well he's linked with others. It could be argued that this is a relative weakness of his game -for instance, his cross selection still needs works -to learn where others are in the box and what runs they're making (if he's not going to look up as he tends to do). A transfer policy of plug and play might not be the end of the world in this respect, granted that any replacement won't be as good as Shaw in terms of individual ability.
  19. Interesting comments from the scousers - probably a load of b******ks but it is still a perception that is crystallising out there.
  20. What is interesting is the number of new posters or, at least, posters with low post counts who have been coming on here. Coincidence?
  21. Poor old Farage got stitched up at his own game. Insinuate something, let it simmer and marinate into peoples fears and preconceptions and save yourself the trouble of having express a logical and fully baked idea.
  22. Pal you still got a job ? Anyway Guly played a massive role in our rise - fitting that he was the last to leave from the old guard. From being a fish out of water and an aloof journeyman, says alot about him, the squad and its togetherness that he became such a liked member.
