  1. He's better than Aspas, their 4th striker.
  2. If Lambo goes, it's as an option off the bench - not to replace anyone. Gives them something different. Would have been perfect for the Chelsea game where there needed to go more direct.
  3. Would be the most damning indictment of the sports press if it turns out to be b*****ks.
  4. And I thought the new manager was going to be involved in deciding who is sold and brought in?
  5. Maybe sets up Lallana's move for a reduced fee - doing a Porto
  6. Supposedly started by Glasgow Red http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=314326.600
  7. Any watchers of French football know much about him? http://www.lanouvellerepublique.fr/Toute-zone/Sport/Football/Ligue-2/n/Contenus/Articles/2014/05/29/Tours-FC-Delort-vers-l-Angleterre-ou-l-Allemagne-1926708
  8. He made a self-deprecating remark to Blackmore about talking too much - I can live with that. If anything it makes him affable. The most important thing from yesterday is that he began to crystallise what success looks like i.e. European football. It now gives everyone a very clear benchmark by which to judge MP's replacement, players sales and new signings. Here's hoping what you call 'waffle' is just a harmless exuberance.
  9. Top, level-headed professional - put more weight on his words than any of the other interviews doing the rounds.
  10. The comment about making a shortlist available to the public was a throw away comment IMO - a case of RK's mouth running faster than his brain. Not reading anything into it.
  11. The punt up to Cahill or Fellaini was always great viewing. I'm with Kevin Sheedy on this one. Still he'd be able to work wonders with a team like ours that has no strikers.
  12. He has some very good qualities; but the football he endorses is pretty agricultural. Whoever comes in has to believe in possession, pressing and movement. Agree with Le Tiss, continuity and fit in footballing terms are the most important requirements for the job.
  13. I said 'largely'
  14. Its MLG's modus operandi I can pick out a much longer and more convincing list of players that teams have been paid little for and not been up to standard. You largely get what you pay for. Enjoy your bowl of cherries.
  15. Behave you clown. Money talks, s**t walks. You largely get what you pay for.
  16. Was hardly convincing from crosses the season before - we had a blatant goal disallowed against them, notwithstanding a proper clanger.
  17. Its pretty mild, if anything its utterly banal. It tallies with the experience of every organisation I've worked in and organisational theory for dummies. But only on the mongboard is it seen as blasphemy.
  18. Not sure what your point is - regardless whether that counts as every single decision,t there seems to have been a backlash against far more moderate views.
  19. And??? Slow down and read what was said.
  20. Nobody has said that Reed makes every single decision by himself - only that he is more powerful than he was before. The same thing happens everywhere. You decide whether its a good thing or not.
  21. Not losing any sleep or knocking Reed's success. Just saying that its naive to think that he isn't more powerful than before.Thought one of the criticisms of the previous regime was the lack of checks and balances and the need for more accountability. There is no reason why RK can't provide that challenge over time but not right here, right now. He'll need months before he can properly understand the club and the industry - indeed he may never get up to speed if he's happy to confine himself to the commercial side. We'll never know why Dodd and Williams were sacked -perhaps there were decent grounds, perhaps there weren't; but Reed probably never found it easier to cut them loose either way. This is small beer compared to the appointment of a new manager -and you would hope that process is as rigorous and free from groupthink as possible.
  22. Anyone who doesn't think Reed's position and power have been strengthened, for better or worse, is clueless.
  23. Shaw. Different stage of his career. Plenty of time on his side. That said, chances of keeping either have probably lengthened with MP's departure.
  24. All while climbing the 'standings'
  25. Means nothing
