  1. All this misses the basic point that no deal won’t mark the end of negotiations or closure on the past three years but only the start of a new phase of negotiations. See Ivan Rogers piece in the Spectator.
  2. Exactly. We know it, Johnson’s team knows it, even some of the swivels deep down know it. There will be an election - what’s a month or so between friends.
  3. That’s his modus operandi. He’s a thin-skinned moron. When he gets exposed, he puts you on ignore like he did when he tried defending David Davis hopeless statement in 2016 that “within two years, before the negotiation with the EU is likely to be complete, and therefore before anything material has changed, we can negotiate a free trade area massively larger than the EU”. It was a proper car-crash for him. Wes Tender has his moments and goes missing time to time but at least he doesn’t duck or dodge a debate.
  4. Why do plums think the opposition is running scared. It’s not as if there won’t be an election. There’ll likely be an election in November. The opposition is simply not giving it on the terms that Johnson wants and is ramping up the political pressure (in the same way an October 15 election has a narrowly political purpose for Johnson). It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that Brexiters are throwing their toys out of the pram in impotent rage
  5. Varadkar exposing the dopey brexiters (quite a few here) who think there’s such a thing as a clean brexit. Johnson being given a masterclass. Johnson is so out of his depth.
  6. Neoliberalism and the poll tax had nothing to do with Thatcher? That’s like saying Christianity had nothing to do with Jesus
  7. It is a bit Monty Pythonesque. This is the clown who rails against the establishment (despite Brexit being led by parts of the establishment) and denounces neoliberalism (despite his political hero Margaret Thatcher being its chief architect).
  8. That’s certainly the reaction of Brexiters when the poll of polls point to a majority wanting to stay in the EU.
  9. People high up in the Bank of England think he’s smart and take him very seriously.
  10. Her resignation will have been priced in, so don’t think it changes the big picture. Now if Gove and Javid honoured some of the things they said during the leadership contest, that would be the death knell.
  11. The establishment Did you go to private school too pal?
  12. Adrian Aymes #legend
  13. This was much more devastating in impact: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/please-leave-my-town-boris-johnson-politely-told-by-man-in-viral-exchange-a4230271.html
  14. I like something I saw on twitter: “This must be Boris Johnson's actual personal hell, going around the country listening to ordinary people make excellent points at him in regional accents“.
  15. Misselbrook, Roger Helmer - what the f**k do they put in the maxpax machine. I guess it’s not all bad: there’s your esteemed self, Ian Dunt (iirc) and former conservative patriot and rebel Stephen Hammond among others.
  16. I wrote this in 2016. Was writing at the time of the last election cycle.
  17. Good lad.
  18. #genderbender
  19. John M, man of the people railing against the establishment, was privately educated?
  20. You’re right: he played RB for us.
  21. Any saints ‘fan’ who sells their ticket for a profit is a c**t and should be ashamed of themselves.
  22. Seeing Gove rocking in fury rainman-style as Bercow slapped him down was priceless.
  23. Darren Kenton.
