  1. If we were going to play Stephens today (and you’re correct we don’t have many options at CB), I would have preferred to see him in a back three, perhaps shifting Bertrand over and starting Targett at LWB/LM as we did to good effect in the second half against Bournemouth last week. In other words, I would have rather seen us experiment with a formation and/or lineup that we might credibly use next season than going gung-ho with four attacking players made up of bit-part players. Either experiment with a 4-2-2-2 with your best lineup (as it’s struggled to show it can play that way) or acknowledge the limitations of a weakened team with a less adventurous setup that gives it the best chance to succeed. It’s hard to see what RH could have plausibly learned today. Then again I don’t think learning was his main priority which might explain why a number of those who went today are justifiably annoyed.
  2. How much deadwood can we realistically clear; how far will Goa back the manager beyond any sales; and will it require us to sell any of our prized assets. These questions take on special significance this window as we don’t have the windfall from a VVD to reinvest and we are under less pressure to sell our better players who are unlikely to walk straight into a top side.
  3. 1-1.
  4. Did you go to the game pal?
  5. The big man gets his goal.
  6. Did you go to the game pal?
  7. Not just the line-up but also the formation.
  8. Nice one sonny...
  9. Those saves look a bit theatrical to me.
  10. Crunching tackle
  11. His head’s gone.
  12. According to posters on here, you’re quite the piano virtuoso, the next Elton John.
  13. Got a record deal yet, rocketman?
  14. So half of the first team squad is going to Macau; and the other half Ireland?
  15. You’re right that’s Semmens, not Glover. Being greedy I’d love a joint profile on the two, though Glover’s the priority. Needless to say I’m fully expecting an update on the wee man, Wilson, one of your best and beloved works to date. Keep up the good work.
  16. So basically you don’t go and watch us play If you think he plays alongside Romeu and Hoj, I suggest you take your head out of your arse.
  17. I thought Les attended?
  18. Can you do one of your profiles on Martin, Charlie? Here’s a photo to get you started.
  19. Surely he (or she) has to have his testosterone levels measured and is only allowed to compete if they are below a cutoff (as the IOC mandates for the Olympics)? Basically if you’re a woman and built like fatima whitbread (and have high naturally occurring testosterone levels) you can’t compete; and if you’re a bloke who identifies as a woman and has lowered testosterone levels (drug induced or otherwise), you can compete. In which case it would make things simpler if they just introduced different testosterone classes (like they do with weight classes in boxing or weight-lifting).
  20. Not really. It’s pretty clear that Hoj and Romeu have been the CM base (exceptions are Wolves home and whenever RH subs Romeu). Other than the odd occasion he’s also filled in as wingback, JWP has been pushed much further forward on the right. He may hold his runs at times to enable the overlap with Valery and won’t drive at players with the ball as it’s not his strength. But his starting position is much closer to Redmond and Ings (indeed he often goes beyond Ings who drops quite deep to link up play) and is currently keeping Armstrong out as part of that attacking trio.
  21. Whoscored You don’t go to games do you pal?
  22. JWP hasn’t been playing as a CM. He’s played much further forward with Redmond and Ings.
  23. hahaha
  24. They're the better team atm - got to take one of these chances.
  25. Messi's a little c**t.
