It may be an individual player thing, but I am more convinced it's a collective team thing...possibly connected with the Manager and Coaches in some way. One player having a bad day at the office could be covered by our other fantatistic players, but it's not like that. In fact the one thing that I have thought all along is that, to get out of this league, you don't need highly skilled players - you need players that can be motivated to play out of their skins...to fight beyond their individual merits for their manager, the club, the supporters, even the Chairman. That's why Bompey are where they are. It's why Adkins was able to get Scunny into the CCC. Unfortunately, the make-up of our squad generally does not appear to match this profile. Perhaps our players are too clever to be fooled by the Managers rhetoric?!

My impression was that Chaplow was the midfield man we craved. Certainly many on here (myself included) thought he was a great signing that would start most games. Now given that, who would you drop to allow a complete new lad in to then become a leader on the pitch? It's not going to happen is the simple answer. While we would all like better players, but you have to ask why a group of 11 players supposely best in class will not perform consistently. The fault has to lie at the door of the Manager surely?

This one result isn't the issue in my eyes - it's the nature of the result that is concerning. This team have given shown an almost complete lack of guile and spirit when it comes to winning against this type of team. There is a trend and for my money that responsibility lies with Adkins and his coaching team. Give them an attacking side that plays football on a bowling green pitch and we'll win 6-0. For whatever reason, Adkins appears to be out of his depth in being able to find a solution to winning these types of games and it's going to cost us an automatic place. If the league was any stronger this season we would be struggling to hold on to a play-off place.

Let's play the U-18's in the first team to shake things up a bit! Err...hang on - what was that...we've tried that before you say?? lol (;

Sorry to have to say that we'll struggle greatly to make 2nd now. Play-offs still within our grasp, but who would put money on this team having the bottle to go through? If I didn't know better I would hazard a guess that Adkins has lost the dressing room and indeed the plot. And it's a little niggling doubt that has been with me for some weeks. Look back over the results of this season and the nature of the results - there's a consistency in these types of performances that is very worrying. I am really starting to have doubts about Adkins ability to command a presence. His interviews are bland and are now also seemingly stupid too. If we lose against Yeovil I think the crowd could turn against him and that could be the beginning of the end for him. And lastly, I NEVER EVER want to read or hear another ******* defender interviewed on the OS prior to a mid-week away game. It's all a load of regurtitated bollacks that in essence means nothing - other than we will lose of course.

Agreed - well almost. We are simply better with these guys it's true, but not on a cold Tuesday night up north perhaps. I think playing Hammond makes a lot of sense when it comes to putting in a shift away from home, so my choice for this game would be him and Chappers. Other than that, we should win this comfortably. 1-1 draw it is then.

What?! You have to be joking right? Guly has gone off the boil and is tending to lose concentration at times. Barnie has not been allowed to show what he can do from a start. I think now is the time to give him the chance.

Complete rubbish considering the 'opportunity' eh Nigel? Whatever you're saying to them, it ain't working. You need to be ruthless and drop players like Guly who are not performing - give Barnard a freaking start and try to win the freaking game! Oh and don't play an attacking midfielder on the wing when you have N'Guessian on the bench to run at tired legs FFS!!!! I would like to know why Forte was not even on the bench? Nothing on the OS about injury.

Sorry to say that Brighton do not have a BETTER squad. They may have a more balanced, committed, hungry, fit, well-coached side for sure. What that sadly says is that Adkins and his coaching team are not making an impression on the players. Something is not working. Someone needs to sort it out - I hope that man is Adkins because if it has to be NC we might be seeing a new Manager prematurely.
