If P*mpey get wound-up on Friday :Poll:
Saint Fan CaM replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
You're not wrong. However, can you imagine the outcry had Lowe tried to stay on in the same manner Storyteller is trying to eek out his time/salary at Skatesville? I think his personal safety might have been at risk, so he made the right decision to slink away. Storyteller on the other hand doesn't seem to care how much he bleeds from the dead carcuss. -
Pal, you've really got to try to move on and forget the past. I'm here to tell you we've been taken over by a very rich benefactor who has employed an extremely savvy businessman, who has employed one of the best English managers in the country, who has been given a reasonable amount of money to assemble a pretty decent team. AND, the majority of the people I know that go to SMS now are very happy with the way the club is run and the results we're achieving. We're on the long arduous climb back up the rungs of the league ladder. We've not reached the top yet by a long chalk, however we're fitter now than we've been for many years and the journey is so much more enjoyable when there's hope for the future wouldn't you agree?

Absolutely the top post of the decade there - well done fella...you've hit the nail on the head in a single small paragraph and I completely agree. But then what about the guys that don't go - don't soak up the atmosphere of an home or away game - sit behind a PC and/or listen to the radio? Who do they blame? Not themselves - why would they - they've chosen to stay away (perhaps for perfectly valid reasons). So their only outlet is this forum - they have little positivity to contribute, so their views tend to come across as negative naturally. In terms of the OP, I agree to a point. I believe there are more balanced posters on here than otherwise. Unfortunately, there are a couple of posters who seemingly have little good to say about Saints whatever the outcome. For example, after the Norwich win there was a notable absence of posts from Glasgow Saint if my memory serves me. However, I do sometimes wonder whether some of the posters on here are deliberate WUM's (best thing is avoid those people and/or put them on 'ignore').

Just confirms what bunch of cheating mongs they all are. As if we needed reminding.

To be fair I think last nights 'entertainment' was somewhat better than the rubbish usually served up at SMS. At least some local kids get given the chance to shine for a little while and it was a nice touch that the guys at our end were shooting for 'us'. It had a 'family club' type feel to it and as we're supposed to be that kind of club, perhaps we should be doing something similar? Or have we grown out of that mould now we're in SMS and the Dell is a distant memory?

Lowlight of the evening was the 20 minute wait in the freekin' pub for a beer. Two barmaids serving in the nearest pub to the ground when there's a major football club in town! And they were just sauntering around like it was a Sunday afternoon FFS. To be fair the cheese'n'bacon-burgers from the place near the ground were quite palettable - better than the stodge you get from our burger stalls. (;

Oh yes - sorry about that - got carried away! #-o Jones was developed by us - I seem to remember seeing him play with the youth team. -

It's got to be said that I was mildly sympathetic to the blue few until that rubbish headline on their OS lied about their performance against us in the cup game. Now I am just loving every last turn of the screw. May their suffering last until they drop into L1 or beyond. -
I wonder if anyone will point out that his post was sometime back and in relation to our previous game? Oh...I just did.

Another Winger Surely Not Alan Pardew is keen on Albert Adomah
Saint Fan CaM replied to John B's topic in The Saints
I think we could sign Antonio, but not Waigo unless he comes to us on a free...he is rated as a approx. £2m player but cannot get into the team regularly, so I would say there's a good chance he'll go back. We might lose Schneiderlin in the summer also. However, having a scout look at the lad is a bit different to Pards saying anything about him - let's face it, there's no quote. Every signing we have made from a league higher than we currently are at has looked good - Fonte and Puncheon. We need to keep that strategy going otherwise getting out of this league is going to be very tough indeed. We need a strong, dominant, playmaking CM urgently AND a pacey winger too in Puncheon's mould. Not sure this guy would cut the mustard. -

True about losing them, but it was mostly to do with raising funds rather than any professional assessment of the capability of the squad and what we needed. BTW Poke is probably no better than a L2 keeper and not worthy of wiping even Barts boots in terms of getting the club out of L1. -

Of the latter you mention - Surman only. Others still playing? Beattie, Baird, Higgy perhaps, Kevin Davies, Matt Oakley. Defo not Jones - unprofessional turd by refusing to play for us under contract. -

They probably would lose a fair few games in this league. -

That's pretty hilarious reading. Especially the idiots posting on the forum saying they still want Storyteller to stick around! At least Rupert had the common decency to walk away with his tail between his legs. -
Got to agree with Alps on this. We didn't turn up really to deal with the pitch and they did. The difference was they used the wings at all available opportunities. AP made a tactical mistake by putting Puncheon centrally to start and although he changed it, he compounded the error by bringing on Wotton too early - he should have just switched Antonio who has height and a bit skill. The message should have gone out to the Captain to get play out to the wings. Lallana was drifting far too central. Disappointing result but hey we got a point and there is still a chance. I maintain that because there will be better away pitches to win on than the one last night and more home games than away, in our remaining matches.

Nice touch - can you get hybrid red and white ones?
-
OK - will be at pub to pick you up at 4.15pm - is that OK? Will be in a red Insignia. Dave
-
Yer right! lol

Can you PM me your phone number?
-
Err - yep - got room in the car. I can't PM you though and I'm not posting my number here - not sure how to contact you otherwise?
-
I had the same explanation today when I went to pick mine up from the ticket office! Not happy as I went out of my way to go get them. I have been told I now have to get my ticket from the office at Wycombe - hope there's no flippin' queue's otherwise what's the point of online booking?!?

That was then. The business plan that ML and NC will be adopting when we get to the Prem will depend on prevailing economics at the time including player salaries, gate receipts, TV money etc. General business strategy would suggest it makes sense to slightly restrain supply to keep demand high. So I would imagine that they would want to build a position of an excess of fans wanting tickets over at least 2 seasons prior to committing to expanding a stadium that was perfectly sustainable when we were in the Prem last time. Or to put it another way, there will not be enough justification to spend £30m+ on improvements with an AVERAGE gate of 30k - we get close to that now...(e.g. demand will fluctuate greatly for lower Prem opposition and ticket prices could be astronomic for many fans) - they will almost certainly be looking at a potential average gate of 35k to make it a worthwhile proposition I would have thought.

I cannot for the life of me believe that the club would make you travel to SMS to get your ST changed over. I would e-mail the club and make your request. They will almost certainly ask you to send your ST in by post for replacement. Try here to start... tickets@saintsfc.co.uk

As I said above, I bought mine today with no problems but have been told to collect them at the Wycombe ticket office. It might mean nothing, but it would appear there are still seats are available. Best thing is to phone 1st thing in the morning I guess.
