Doesn't sound like we're much threat today - need someone better than James on the wing to shke things up perhaps?
-
Not sure we need someone TBH. Markus does the job for me - he saved the club and continues to support Nicola and AP who is doing a fantastic job. Couldn't be happier with our thinned out management structure with more emphasis on good coaches to assist AP. The balance is right - leave well alone until we're back fighting our way back into the Prem.

Cortese offers you £5m on Jan 1st...what would you do?

Portsmouth fail to pay their players again...
Saint Fan CaM replied to Daren W's topic in General Sports
Was told by a good source last night that Poopey are all but in name in administration. The guy in the middle east who lent them money (I think to pay player salaries) now owns the rights to Farton Park. They are in so much sh*t financially if they do go under there's probably no way out. Blue Square league will look attractive to whatever remains of the club. Lovin' it. -
They deserve him. In fact, he could serve us well....agent Wotte etc. LMFAO

The weather was the same for both teams. We may have had all those chances, but we only scored one. I still believe that most other teams in this league would have scored more than once with some of the possession Wycombe had and won. Wycombe were just too awful to capitilise (and that's why they are where they are).

Laughable posts really...

Out of relegation zone for first time in 2009
Saint Fan CaM replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
Walsall will be a tough, tough game. If we play there like we did tonight we will lose for sure and could drop back down into the R zone. There is absolutely no room for complacency or error now. There is still lots of work to be done and we will need new decent players in January to make the push upwards sustainable. There are no guarantees in this league for a team that started on -10pts unfortunately. -
When we get players who think 2 seconds + quicker than some of the current squad, I think you will be astonished at what Papa will be achieving because he will have team mates providing him with the fast service he craves.
-
They did - one. However, that's not the point - the reason we got away with an inept performance was because they were SO rubbish at finishing and could not take advantage of extremely an inconsistent standard of play that looked comical at times. Read AP's comments on the OS - even he has intimated we were poor. Examples? Some of Bart's kicks and some of the defenders clearances barely reached the half-way line. Several occasions where the ball was overplayed and we lost possesion around their pen area. Jaidi casually backheading to Bart without looking and nearly gifting one of their players a golden chance. The list of elementary errors could go on. We got away with it tonight because Wycombe were rubbish - that kind of performance will see us re-join them in the relegation zone if AP and his team don't sort it out. (I should also point out that Morgan and Perry saved our bacon with sublime tackles on more than one occasion).
-
Yes OK, he was caught offside, but you do not mention the 3-4 times I saw him run along the line to get into a channel and stay on-side. The main reason he goes offside is because whoever has the ball leaves it too late to place a through ball to him. It is not always his fault and we need a player like him to mix up the play. He worked the defence as much if not more than Lambert did this evening IMO.
-
Make no mistake, any other team in L1 would probably have whipped our butts tonight - some of the passing (including the hoofing) were pure comical circus tonight. The football for large parts was dire to be fair. Lambert has a problem - don't know if its because he's ill, unfit or plain wants out for some reason. Jaidi on two occasions nearly gifted the opposition with gilt-edged chances with what appeared to be nothing better than casual negligence (but was a mountain for most of the game). Lallana, Waigo, Lambert and Antonio all missed incredibly great chances to score (particularly Lallana and Waigo). BUT! We're out of the relegation zone and a clean sheet was kept by Bart. So onwards and upwards. AP has now got his 'dirty' win - let's hope there's many more pretty wins starting with another 3 points on Sat.
-
Got to agree his tackling was superb tonight.
-
Completely agree - that guy worked his socks off tonight for the team in defence and attack. There were at least two wrong offside decisions given this evening for definite.
-
I agree - Lambert had a poor game tonight with the exception of his goal. I was almost of the opinion he and a couple of others in the team had placed a large amount of money on a 1-0 win.
-
Mmm, bookies look like favouring 1-1. B*llox to that - 3-1 Saints.
-
Didn't even have to think much about this one....league all the way. Other comps is nice-to-have stuff but will not have the same level of importance on next seasons success.
-
Mmm, first thoughts would be it's a nailed on cert for us to draw Poopey. And while that might be fun, it would be a gutting way to go out TBF - they would be too much for us I think. If we're to test the lads out on a Prem side, then surely it would be good to have a decent side that are faltering a bit - Liverpool at home perhaps. That way if we win - its "wow, how good was THAT"! If we lose - it's "well, as underdogs it's what we expected".
-
IMO there's a reason why other players like Lallana are scoring goals this season - and if we give a name to that, it would be Lambert. He has in himself become a more rounded team player under AP's guidance and so for that reason he gets my vote.
-
None of the links I have work.
-
Win the next three very winnable games and we will be looking a real threat. However, I still think it will be far too early to count on getting anywhere near the play-offs.
-
I would be expecting all 9 points from those games TBH - or at the very least 7 points.
-
Really, really good win. I reckon we are three wins away from looking like a proper mid-table club. And anything could happen from there with the players confidence growing and the -10 well and truly left behind. Cannot complain about AP's tactics or game plan. They obviously got a little lucky to score first in the conditions, but we've ended up with a decent score AND Bart starts what must be a little run of games perhaps with a personal clean sheet. Feeling good.
-
Gotta say - that's a bleedin' good win.
-
Could that be because he knows what he's doing?
