who wants us to go into admin and/or wotte to fail
Saint Fan CaM replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Gotta say, you cannot help but empathise with this point of view. The thing is, none of us would wish for failure for the club and if we were doing reasonably ok, there would be few complaints. The trouble is, its not like that is it? The club is in a terrible, terrible mess. Lowe's promised recovery has not only stalled, its driven us deeper into the mire. Like him or loath him, Lowe has proven once again to be an utter disaster for this club and the evidence is there for all to see. -
For pussies - I've got a great madras paste that takes a lot of beating!

I suspect there were a good number that weren't all Saints fans also. -

Duncan - We all have a right to an opinion - we also all have a right to state fact (if brave enough to do so), but we need to be careful not to mix the two in a manner that might be misconstrued. Especially if you claim the knowledge has come from an impeccable source. I consider what you have said above to be a little misleading when you then suggest it will result in "the end of SFC" - there is NO evidence (as you then seem to readily agree) that the end of SFC will happen IF the PLC is dissolved. IMHO. -

Fixed it for you... (Anyone with shares of course will argue against administration - or indeed plant scare stories telling how bad administration will be. Not being critical - if I hadn't of dumped my shares at 60p I would probably be saying the same thing!) -

I think you will find no-one will give out that kind of information. Otherwise watch the share price crumble away as shareholders try to sell at 16p to beat the guillotine. Shortly followed by an investigation into who leaked what and when. -
Wot he said.

Well if that's the case, surely your comments are more than a little misleading, unless someone with extremely close links to an administrator has told you categorically that SFC will die. Administration often comes about through lack of cash-flow to service all finance streams - not necessarily due to lack of business as such, although clearly there are close links. Sure, there would need to be a complete re-assessment of the financial state of the company, however many of the adverse financial aspects for the company would be dramatically altered I would imagine - e.g. player contracts terminating? And anyway, I would suspect that once the diverse shareholding that exists due to the PLC is broken up, there will be more than one potential buyer to take-over the club. If that buyer is not Lowe or Wilde, I think cash-flow will cease to be a problem. I have seen many cases where corporate change is resisted because the stakeholders are scared to take a 'leap of faith' into the unknown. But if survival is dependent on change then we should embrace it and not fear it. IMHO. -

Completely different set of circumstances. For the MUFC game SMS was rammed because a few 1,000 plastic MUFC 'fans' fancied seeing 'their' team. Many Saints fans preferred to stay at home, watch on the telly and save themselves an awful lot of money to see us get stuffed. And you know it! -
Still think it will not actually happen - if it does, still think it will not mean the end of SFC.

I would not be surprised if between 2,000 and 4,000 supporters at least came back to SMS if Lowe and Wilde were gone and there was renewed hope with a new owner and proper game plan for the club. I think you are not appreciating the wide extent of support for SFC - i.e. the football club. Evidence? Look at SMS last game of last season - it was rammed. -

I don't doubt your source(s) Duncan, however I would like some clarification regarding your assertion that SFC will go under. Surely it will be SLH PLC that will take the brunt of the fall? That surely is one reason for setting the corporate structure out in this manner? And the stadium is also protected as such by the PLC? I do not pretend to be an expert in these matters, but I find it hard to believe that administration for the PLC means SFC Ltd or SMS Ltd will be dissolved as a result. The administrator will be able to see that there is a high level of customer support and something will be worked out whereby Lowe and Wilde will not be involved so 1,000's will come flooding back. :smt115 -
Nor me. I'm sick of this guy already.
-
As someone else said above, the one thing magic ingredient missing at the moment is hope. There cannot be too many people who turn up at SMS thinking we'll win nowadays and so the whole club has sunken into depression, including this forum. Everyone blames everyone else, while the principle architects swan off on holiday or wherever while Rome burns. One of the few exciting prospects with our club right now is Lowe and Wilde losing their shares when we enter administration.
-
I will not be renewing at March Madness and will see what happens over the summer. I was fleeced of my money last year just prior to Lowe ditching everything Pearson and Crouch had done to keep us up and get the good-vibe back at SMS. It will not happen again - ever.
-
Yes, that's the problem trying to drum up interest on here - for a start us posters make a small minority of the total number of fans, so to make a difference you have to advertise any scheme outside of here. There are as many readers I suspect as posters, but if most can't be arsed to post, I doubt they'll be fired up enough to register with a formal protest. I also think that there are too many who believe taking action involving ST's will push the club into administration and they fear the change that would inevitably happen as a result. It's a high-risk strategy in a way, but what other voice do we have? There are MANY supporters just walking away anyway, without needing any encouragement whatsoever!
-
PNE will score within 10 mins of half-time...this always happens at home. We then bust a gut after a dressing down in the changing room and they hit us on the break with a long hopeful ball that the defence don't deal with in a timely manner. It's happened so many times, dare you doubt me?!! So... PNE 2 Saints 0
-
It should be with the united intention of boycotting the March Madness and Early Bird deals. Yes, this would lose us money saved from these schemes, but it would also send out the biggest message that supporters have lost all faith in the current regime. If this is the strategy count me in.

Not when you've got the likes of Lowe at Saints contributing his 3% by sacking more than one per season!!!
-
Don't be annoyed - while some fans were clearly opposed at the time, that's not the issue here. The key is what PLC status has STOPPED this club achieving since 2003 and in particular right now in our hour of need that really matters. Surely you can see this?
-
Well done guys - between Ekelund and Whitey G they got there. There have been 393 managerial changes across all divisions since AF took charge of Man Utd. And therefore, Saints do indeed contribute about 3% of the stat (which is pretty telling in its own right). Just goes to show what managerial continuity does for you when you get a winning combination. Pity Lowe did not realise this when he allowed Strachan to walk away. lol
-
What has happened 393 times since Alex Ferguson was appointed manager of Man Utd? Clue: Saints have shockingly contributed approximately 3% to this stat. I will confirm the 1st correct answer I read. Have fun.
-
Mmm, I am torn between... (a) Allowing Strachan to leave the club...or... (b) Forming SLH PLC to govern the life of Southampton Football Club.

Poll: Will y0u attend next season if lowe and wilde are still here?
Saint Fan CaM replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Just boycott the early ST renewal. That alone should send a huge shocking message to the banks, the shareholders, the Board of the PLC. But you can still buy a ST or indeed match tickets later on. -
Cannot be any worse than McGoaldrought FFS. Give the boy a 5 year contract and tell him he will spearhead Saints promotion push to L1 in 2011.
